Kazar's red eyes shrunk in confusion as they narrowed into dangerous slits.

"Gone?"

He echoed, voice still carrying all throughout the tent.

"Threshal is dead? Impossible!"

His growl deepened into a feral snarl as he lood over the trembling ssenger.

"You're telling that a Red Demon commander's beacon just… disappeared? How!?"

The ssenger gulped, sweat dripping down his forehead.

"I— I don't know, General! The beacon just… flickered out! One mont it was there, and then—"

The ssenger didn't get the chance to finish before his head was grabbed and squeezed until it burst like a waterlon.

Kazar's gaze darkened even further, not bothered one bit by the fact that he had just killed the ssenger in cold blood.

"Damn it all!"

He roared, his voice shaking the very foundations of the tent.

"Threshal was one of the stronger elites! No re human or band of resistance fighters could've possibly taken him down!"

He turned sharply, baring his razor sharp teeth at a nearby attendant.

"Send soone to go and investigate!"

He roared out the order, but before the attendant could even turn around to act upon it, another Red Demon ca crashing through the tent's flaps once again.

"Rahh! What is it this ti!?"

Kazar was clearly not in the mood for all these interruptions…

"Sir, word has just co in that Threshal's entire camp has been wiped out. The scout couldn't even believe what he was looking at when he arrived… here, he sent over footage of the incident, General!"

The second ssenger who had just barged into General Kazar's tent uttered out in a much more confident tone than the first.

Kazar's fuming gaze shifted sharply from the twitching corpse of the first ssenger to the second Red Demon who dared to disturb him.

The General's eyes seared with barely contained rage, but there was a genuine glimr of curiosity still in them that stopped him from delivering the sa fate to this new Red Demon.

"Show ."

He commanded, now deadly calm.

The switch up in tone scared the ssenger a little bit, but he did as he was asked.

He nodded, quickly pulling out a holographic projector from his side pocket.

He fumbled for a mont before he shakily activated the device.

The tent's interior dimd as a flickering image sprang to life above the projector.

The other Red Demons in the room leaned in closer, fixating their attention on the image that began to unfold before them.

The footage was grainy and unsteady, as if taken from a drone high above the camp.

But it zood in shortly enough on the scene of utter chaos.

The Red Demons in Threshal's camp were surging forward, their energies blazing bright with a collective fury.

In the middle of it all, a single figure stood alone. A crimson silhouette against the backdrop of the carnage.

"Who…?"

Kazar muttered as he tried to make out the image of this figure in his mind, but the cara used to record the scene was too low quality to do so.

It was only recorded on a small drone operated by a bored scout anyway, so it wasn't like it was purpose built for the task.

In fact, the scout had only flown it over head after seeing how riled up the camp seed, curious to see what was going on.

But he never expected to capture the scene that unfolded…

The figure in the video moved.

No… it didn't just move — it completely disappeared.

The cara speed wasn't fast enough to pick up Alex's movents, so it looked like he had just teleported.

In one fluid motion, the figure sent out a blazing crimson arc of fire that swept away every living, and non living, thing in their surroundings.

In just a matter of seconds, it beca a wasteland of ash, before another figure stepped into the scene and the two of them disappeared again shortly after.

The scout was unable to find them again from that point onwards, but he knew that the scene he had just witnessed was one that could potentially cause panic across the other settlents on the planet…

Hence he had to report it to his higher ups urgently.

Even Kazar's gaze was one of slight shock and worry upon finishing watching the footage…

"Did you find it yet?"

Alex asked, trailing behind Mira as they casually walked through the dense forests.

"No, I only felt the spatial signature for a mont before it disappeared. I only know which direction it moved in."

Mira replied, still sowhat irked by Alex's attack on the Red Demon camp without her, but she had mostly gotten over it by now.

Instead, the two of them were rather focused on sothing else now.

During the battle, Mira arrived at the edge of the scene as Alex's arc of Phoenix fire obliterated the last of the Red Demons, but her spatial perception had also caught sothing interesting.

High in the sky, she could feel a presence disturbing the space around it, moving rapidly around the area before it exited her range of spatial perception only a few monts later.

From this, Mira discovered sothing very interesting, but also exciting as she finally had sothing to one one up Alex with!

She could sense this object due to its movents disturbing the space around it, but Alex couldn't sense it at all because it didn't have a life signature!

Now, they could tell whenever they were being spied upon by sothing that wasn't living, perhaps, like a piece of technology…

Red Demon technology in this case.

Upon sensing what she had suspected to be a drone, Mira knew that their plan of causing as much ruckus and chaos as they could before the Red Demons noticed sothing was wrong had already failed.

But while this may have been the case, it also gave them so clues on where they might find another Red Demon settlent on Eldaris, saving them the ti of having to walk around aimlessly until another one popped into their perception.

The drone's pilot probably hadn't expected for them to be able to sense it's movents in the last monts, so they had no idea that Alex and Mira were currently moving in their exact direction…
