Alex's eyes widened with his brows furrowed.
He was both shocked and confused.
"Wait… What did you just say!?"
Mira nodded fervently, barely able to contain her excitent.
"I said I can detect your presence — your physical form, yes — but not like I normally do. I'm sensing the space you occupy, Alex! I'm sensing the very essence of the space itself bending and warping around your existence…"
Alex's expression shifted from confusion to astonishnt, and then sothing akin to awe.
"You can sense the space I'm in? Not my life force, not my energy signature, but the space?"
"Yes!"
Mira practically bead, feeling like she had finally one upped Alex in sothing!
"I think my affinity for space is quite high… I only gained this ability after becoming a C tier, yet I didn't think my attunent to my space elent would be so… drastic!"
A silence stretched between them as Alex processed this new information.
He ran a hand through his hair, his mind clearly racing through his thoughts.
"Does it work just on , or for all living beings?"
Of course, Alex was also sceptical like Mira was upon first finding out she had this ability.
They both had the sa train of thought — marvel at how amazing this was, then check if it can actually be practical.
"Yes!"
Of course, Mira didn't disappoint Alex's expectations one bit.
"That's amazing!... If only you had gotten that maybe a month earlier…"

After the excitent surrounding Mira's advancent to C tier died down, the two of them leisurely made their way back to Tenebrus.
They were in no rush.
While they could technically go back to the outside universe any ti they liked, they had so loose ends to tie up first.
Their most major one being their deal with Rothwind!
It had been 7 days since they had departed from him so that they could get on with their hunting, and he could get on with his forging.
Which was why they were so leisurely.
He told them that since they insisted he try and experint with the soul orbs, he might need up to another week before their armours were finished.
With potentially another 7 days left to kill before that, they had no clue what to do.
Their business in the Primordial Expanse was basically finished now, what else was there for them but going back?
The human race still needed them after all, and now that they were drastically stronger than when they first entered, they could offer a much stronger helping hand.
Especially Alex.

Around half a day had passed.
As they walked, the soft rustling of leaves and the occasional distant cry of beasts filled the air.
But Mira's mind was far from these mundane sounds.
She kept glancing at Alex, wondering what was going through his mind now that they were both free to do what they liked, no longer burdened by their inability to leave the Primordial Expanse.
Despite the casual pace, there was an unspoken tension in the air — not between them, but with the looming realisation that their ti in the Primordial Expanse was coming to an end.
"I can't believe it's almost over…"
Mira muttered, more to herself than Alex.
"Hmm?"
Alex looked over, eyebrows raised.
"I feel like I've been trapped in this place for years, but only a month and so has passed."
She spoke softly, letting her emotions take the reigns, gesturing at the ancient forest surrounding them.
Alex nodded slowly, understanding her feelings on the topic.
"I feel you. But we didn't exactly co here under good circumstances either."
"And you…"
Mira chid in, looking sowhat lost and bewildered.
"You've beco sowhat of an absolute monster during your ti here… Here I was, thinking that I might actually be able to catch up to you for once, but no — you just had to go and one up yourself again!"
Mira sounded forlorn, but in actuality she was glad.
If Alex was strong, there was less of a need to worry about him dying.
But not only that, it only provided her an even bigger goal to work towards.
Especially now that she had access to soul orbs of her own!
A faint smile tugged at Alex's lips after hearing what Mira had to say.
"Maybe soday you'll surpass ."
"Surpass you?"
Mira let out a mock scoff, but her eyes sparkled with amusent.
"I'm planning on leaving you in the dust. Just wait and see."
Despite her words, there was a warmth in her tone that suggested she was only joking.
If anything, there was only a healthy competition between the two to see who could be the strongest, and Alex was currently winning that by miles.
Moving on, the two of them continued to walk, with the landscape of the Primordial Expanse blurring past as they fell into a companionable silence once more.

Mira's mind wandered as they walked, but it only took her to random places.
However one crazy idea kept coming back to her mind every ti she tried to shake it off, thinking it stupid, or just downright outlandish.
'With my spatial perception heightened to the point of sensing the space around living beings, my combat capabilities are bound to change drastically.'
'But what if, so day in the future, I could be able to manipulate that space around living beings…'
The idea was one that she thought of during their half a day walk back to Tenebrus, but the closer they got to the city, the more she failed to shake it off.
Every ti she sensed another living being entering her perception, the thought ca straight back to her in a what if scenario.
The idea of manipulating the space around beasts or even people was a terrifying one, to say the least.
But it wasn't out of the realm of possibilities… at least Mira didn't think so.
"What are you thinking about?"
But she was drawn out of her wild imagination by Alex, who had his gaze fervently trained on her.
"I'm just… imagining possibilities in the future."
However, as she answered, the towering walls of Tenebrus city ca into view once again, perhaps for the final ti for the two of them.
