Suddenly, while Lucian was lost in his own thoughts, the kitchen door opened, and Duan Mu walked out, carrying a black tray, with a glass of water on top of it.
"Here is your glass of water, Senior." Duan Mu lightly placed the glass of water before Lucian, who accepted it with a nod.
As Duan Mu returned to his table, Lucian closed his eyes and took a sip. The cool, refreshing liquid soothed his mouth and throat.
The water was nothing special — just regular filtered water. But then again, Lucian never expected Duan Mu to bring Mana Water in the first place.

anwhile, back at the Dragon Phoenix Auction House, the Grade 1 Mana Recover Potion had already been sold for 1,000 Gold Coins to an old man, while the next item, the Novice-Grade Low-Quality Swift Wind Boots, had reached the final stages of the bidding process. Fewer people were bidding for it after the price reached 1,550.
Novice Grade Artifacts were usually sold in Gold Coins. A price of 1,000 Gold Coins was already too much, let alone 1,550 Gold Coins. Soon, when soone made an offer of 1,600 Gold Coins, the four people, who were previously bidding for it, shook their heads and opted out of continuing to bid.
Seeing this, ng Ruo looked around and smilingly said, "1,600 Gold Coins going once…"
"1,600 Gold Coins going twice…"
"Sold to the young man in overalls."
The young man, who had been previously nervous, let out a breath of relief. He had been close to giving up many tis, but luckily, he continued bidding.
After the young man paid for the Swift Wind Boots and received them from an attendant, ng Ruo flashed a beautiful smile, captivating many in the venue.
"Esteed Guests, before we continue with the auction, Branch Leader Yoshiko would like to make an important announcent."
"What? Branch Leader Yoshiko has an important announcent. The new Branch Leader that just transferred?"
"Has this ever happened before?"
"I don't think so."
As the people voiced their thoughts aloud, all eyes turned toward the topmost balcony where Yoshiko's office was located. Suddenly, as if waiting for that exact mont, Yoshiko opened the balcony door and stepped off the balcony. As her figure fell, her wings unfurled, slowing her descent.
A few monts later, as her feet touched the ground, the entire venue fell silent.
With a faint smile, Yoshiko curtsied and, while amplifying her voice with Mana, said, "Esteed Guests, thank you all for coming to this week's auction. As ng Ruo ntioned, I have a special announcent to make. I'll keep it short, the sponsor for today's intermission is none other than the prestigious Dragon's Feast Restaurant."
In an instant, the Mages in the venue all went into an uproar, even the guards and attendants were smiling from ear to ear.
"Ohh! The Dragon's Feast Restaurant!"
"I can't believe they would give out free food!"
"HAHAHA, today is my lucky day!"
"Even if I don't win anything, just being able to taste the food cooked by the best chefs in Harmony City is enough for to brag to my friends for years!"
Having already expected such a reaction, Yoshiko was indifferent. After letting the anticipation build, Yoshiko continued, "However, that isn't why I'm here. Although, Dragon's Feast Restaurant is the best restaurant in our city, that alone doesn't warrant my presence. I'm here to announce an opportunity to experience sothing far beyond ordinary.
A once-in-a-lifeti opportunity that if missed, you will surely regret for the rest of your life."
Yoshiko stopped speaking, letting the anticipation rise among the guests.
After a few monts, Yoshiko continued, "Tonight, the creator of the Garlic Butter and Herb Popcorn that took Harmony City by storm, has offered to serve one of his dishes — the Siren's lody Poached Egg, during the intermission."
Without Yoshiko needing to explain further, the people gazed at her in shock and disbelief.
Most of the guests attending the auction had co from Wang Chen's funeral. In one way or another, they were well acquainted with the deliciously slling and tasting Garlic Butter and Herb Popcorn. Especially, the 98 people who were lucky enough to taste the popcorn.
Seated at one of the tables, Peng Ting was salivating as the mory of the Garlic Butter and Herb Popcorn was still fresh in his mind. He could still taste the rich, buttery, garlicky, and herbaceous taste of the popcorn.
Even though the vendor and his group were irritating, he could not help but stare up at the VVVIP Room with a hungry expression.
'If his Garlic Butter and Herb Popcorn was already so delicious, his Siren's lody Poached Egg would be just as delicious, if not better.'
That was the thought that Peng Ting and many others ca to.
Yoshiko's eyes were sparkling as she watched their reactions. Their reactions fueled the greed within her.
"To the lucky people who have already tasted Chef Lucian's Garlic Butter and Herb Popcorn, you must be aware of the special nature of his food. It's not rely food but potions that can be eaten and savored. And like all potions, Chef Lucian's dishes are difficult and ti-consuming to cook and require a certain Mage Rank Requirent. Thus, the outrageous prices.
The Siren's lody Poached Egg is one such creation that requires you to be a Tendon Tempering Realm Mage or above to safely consu the dish."
Hearing the Mage Rank Requirent, many guests were dumbfounded before their expressions morphed into disappointnt.
Compared to the 5,000 guests attending the auction, the number of people qualified to eat the dish was pitifully low.
However, the Mages, who were qualified to eat the Siren's lody Poached Egg were smiling from ear to ear, except for Peng Ting and a few others who had eaten the Garlic Butter and Herb Popcorn.
Those people exchanged a nervous and scared glance before gulping.
If the Mage Rank Requirent to eat the Siren's lody Poached Egg was already so high, taking into account Lucian's shaless and greedy personality, they surmised the dish would be outrageously priced.
Gulping nervously, Peng Ting raised his hand.
"Go on." Yoshiko smiled and nodded at him, indicating for him to speak.
"Branch Leader, what is the price of the dish?" Peng Ting asked what many of the other Mages wanted to know but were too afraid to ask for several reasons. Yoshiko was a Mana Soul Realm Mage. They did not want to offend her and mostly, they were too scared to hear the price of the dish.
Even ng Ruo turned to look at Yoshiko. She had obviously heard about the wondrous Garlic Butter and Herb Popcorn. Depending on the price of the SIren's lody Poached Egg, she wanted to buy it.
Faced with their stares, Yoshiko lightly smiled as she replied, "It's only five Low-Grade Mana Stones."
After she spoke, the guests, guards, attendant, and ng Ruo stiffened on the spot.
What were 5 Low-Grade Mana Stones? It was a sum of money that they did not dare rashly use. Only during dire tis would they reluctantly take them out of their Spatial Rings.
On the other hand, Yoshiko continued smiling while waiting for them to compose themselves.
In the VVVIP Room, Lily was huffing as she looked at the silent and shocked Mages with narrowed eyes.
"Humph! After you sll Big Brother Lucian's food, you'll understand that the price is cheap!"
The others in the room nodded at her words. 5 Low-Grade Mana Stones were expensive for food, but after a slight perspective change, as Lily said, the price was cheap.
For now, their reactions were what they had expected.
"WHAT? Only five? … Since when did food get sold in Mana Stones?" Peng Ting finally reacted after a while, but due to the silent venue, it was heard by everyone, bringing them back to their senses.
With a smile, Yoshiko glanced at everyone on the first floor. "Do you all think the Siren's lody Poached Egg is as expensive as Butler Peng Ting makes it out to be?"
'What is that supposed to an…?' Peng Ting subtly frowned, suddenly feeling like he was being used.
As for the guests, guards, attendants, and ng Ruo, they heavily nodded their heads.
Still, with the sa smile, Yoshiko glanced back at Peng Ting and asked, "Butler Peng Ting, when you were at the Tendon Tempering Realm did you buy any Mana Enhancing Potions and Tendon Tempering Portions?"
Hearing this, Peng Ting stiffened. His weak talent had always been a sore spot. Now that it was revealed in front of more than 5,000 people, he felt a small amount of hatred ignite within him: however, his years as a butler, abused by his young master kicked in, washing away the hatred before it could appear on his face.
Peng Ting sighed. 'Today, just isn't my day. First the vendor, then that equally shaless young man, now this…'
He wondered what he did to deserve this.
