"Chef Lucian… I-I'm sorry! I swear on my blood and Soul I will never disregard your rules. Please help . You must have a way, right!?" Yax got down on his knees and kowtowed repeatedly in Lucian's direction.
It took him fifty years and many resources to beco a Blood Tempering Realm Mage!
The number of dirty jobs he had done for rich Mages numbered in the dozens. It was all for the sake of increasing his Mage Rank.
He did not want to be a cripple! He refused to be a cripple!
Lucian remained indifferent to his pleas. Even if he wanted to help him there was nothing he could do. He was rely a Mana Condensation Realm Mage.
As Yax continued wailing for help, his Mana Veins had already expanded to their limit.

His Mana Veins could no longer take the strain and in an instant exploded.
"Blurgh." Yax coughed out a mouthful of blood onto the spotless brown wooden floorboards.
'Bastard!' Lucian visibly frowned. 'How dare he spit such filth onto my restaurant's floor?'
The lingering fragrant aroma of Lucian's dishes was swiftly overpowered by the harsh, tallic scent of blood.
However, Yax paid it no heed as his focus was entirely on his Mana slipping away from his pores.
Brown, murky liquid oozed from his pores and pooled underneath his sorry, crumbled figure.
The mbers of Lions Liver gazed at the brown, murky liquid in disgust, thinking that the young man had soiled himself.
On the other hand, Fenwick and Jas looked at the murky liquid with a greedy expression as though it was liquid gold.
Almost at the sa ti, Mana surged from their fingertips as they reached out to grab the Mana Liquid. However, before their Mana could reach halfway to the Mana Liquid, a familiar indifferent-sounding voice sounded in their minds:
[If I were you, I wouldn't want such filth to enter my body, Mana Veins, and Mana Core.]
Their eyes widened in horror and they hastily retracted their Mana, not daring to absorb the Mana Liquid.
Mana Liquid was a treasure that all Mages desired. It was so valuable that many Mages, instead of killing their target, would first cripple them before finishing them off, just so they could absorb their Mana Liquid.
Absorbing Mana Liquid was the sa as absorbing a Mage's Mage Rank. Thus, many Mages desperate to increase their Mage Ranks chose to be ruthless hunters.
However, this Mana Liquid was a different story. The consequence of absorbing it was dire. What should have been transparent and full of vitality was brown and murky, due to the overwhelming amount of impurities contained within it. Had they absorbed the young man's Mana Liquid their Mage Ranks would have halted.
Silently, they wiped away the sweat that had ford on their foreheads.

Jas and Fenwick deeply bowed to Lucian, which confused the others, but their attention quickly went back to the crippled young man.
After a few seconds of desperately wailing for help, all of Yax's Mana had seeped out of his body.
"NO! NO! NO! MY MAGE RANK! MY PRECIOUS MANA! NOOOOOO!"
Yax's eyes rolled to the back of his head and he fell unconscious. Soon, the Mana Liquid began to foam, and bit by bit it started disappearing.
Lucian looked at the Mana Liquid as it transford into Mana and sighed, 'Haah. Mages like him are why the Mana in this world is filled with impurities.'
Like carbon dioxide released back on Earth's atmosphere, the impurities released by Mages upon being crippled polluted the Mana on Arcadia.
Following this, the restaurant beca eerily silent.
The three nobodies who had previously backed away from Yax began to tremble violently. They swiftly backed away even further into a corner with pale faces and eyes filled with fear.
Li Yong and Anselm nervously gulped.
They could not believe a person had been crippled just like that. A second ago, he was crying tears of joy, now… his face was stained with tears of sorrow and pain.
Suddenly being crippled was a hard pill to swallow for any Mage. Even death was better than living as a cripple.
The others were also equally stunned and could not believe Yax had been crippled.
"Holy shit! Chef Lucian's first rule wasn't a joke!?" Hervy cursed with a shocked face. He, of course, knew Chef Lucian's dishes contained Mana, but only now that he saw soone crippled from consuming his dish did reality hit him.
Lucian eyed Hervy from the corner of his eyes and said in a cold tone, "This is what happens when soone disrespects my rules. Being blacklisted from my restaurant is the least my custors should worry about."
Hervy shuddered as he gazed at the crippled young man who had fallen unconscious due to an extre amount of sorrow.
'That could have been …' Hervy's eyes held a complicated flicker.
Lucian's expression then changed and he indifferently continued "I'm no longer in the mood. My restaurant is closed for the day. Please co back tomorrow to taste my two new dishes — the Sweet Berry Cream Glazed Dough Balls and Cheese and Herb Garlic Butter Dough Balls."
While being gazed at with shocked expressions, Lucian headed to the kitchen.
[Lily, rember to take the bills.]
Lily was startled but she quickly nodded and moved to handle the paynts.
Soon, most of the patrons left after paying their bills and saying their goodbyes to Lucian.
Although they had witnessed their fair share of bloodshed and had even caused bloodshed of their own, they were slightly shaken. After all, the young man was crippled from eating the Siren's lody Poached Egg.
They had never thought such a thing was possible until today. It also made them keenly aware of why Chef Lucian had such a rule on his nu. It was for their own good!
