Chapter 410: Origin of the cursed Halfling

-|gane’s Story|-

[Several months earlier]

After the Primordial tournant had ended, gane had beco extrely weak that prevented her from using the reward she had obtained more than a month ago.

Being used by both races she belonged to, gane had barely recuperated before she was forced to finish her last [Mythic] mission as fast as possible.

She had received help from the Primordial tournant’s final rewards and the resources provided by both races she belonged to, allowing her to finish everything without further problems.

Her strength was unparalleled in the Basic Primordial dinsions, and her existence was sothing that shouldn’t have been possible either!

Since her childhood, gane had been seen as a miracle child, a being that was supposed to change the future of the races she belonged to, to bring a promising future and defeat the nurous enemies they had amassed.

However, the very reason for her glorious existence had turned her into a puppet and a tool.

She had been born with a silver spoon and made to wear a crown of thorns, none of which had been her choice, just her cursed fate that was nurtured to beco stronger, to solve every single issue her ancestors were unable to, to take over the Primordial dinsions and beco the unchallenged administrator!.

This was the grand goal of both the Dark Ice elves and the Eclipse thunder devils, the advanced race that backed the Dark Ice Elves, had pursued for a millennia.

In the end, most races had similar goals but never had one been close to even eting the administrator, let alone figuring out what he/she looked like.

Maybe the administrator didn’t even exist, but gane was the best candidate to figure this out as she may get the opportunity to et soone specific once she had created a perfect foundation!

Both the races rejoiced when she had achieved this spectacular feat, and several months after she had started to finish her perfect foundation, it finally happened the mont, she attained a mana purity of [100%] while her physique was perfect.

Only her mind was foggy, filled with the manipulations, hypnosis, and multitude of permanent curses her own races had cast on her.

All of this had weakened her ntal well-being as they had obtained control over her mind thereby controlling her actions and keeping a watch on her 24/7.

There was only a tiny fraction of her own will left within gane, that she had hidden deep inside her conscience, away from everyone and everything.

This was her only weakness, and sothing that had turned her into a marionette since the day she, a halfling, had been born!

Her fate had been decided by others since that day, and there was not a single day of rest. Every single minute, she was accompanied by bodyguards, healers, and scholars, trying to protect and teach her.

During every combat lesson, she was heavily injured, only to be healed before her combat training resud.

This went on for hours, and not even constant fainting provided her any respite as variant healers could wake her up at any mont.

If Shane’s past had been arduous, making him complain about the unfairness of the world, gane could not even voice out her pain, anger, and fear, let alone think of it.

The curses she harbored prevented her from thinking ill of anyone around her except the foreign races the Dark Ice elves and Eclipse thunder devils programd her to hate.

In the end, she had even received the [Sin of Gluttony] after years of being able to preserve the last remnants of her own will.

Devouring everything bright and joyful within her, gane’s curses leeched on her sanity. It was only an ounce of her will, and the small ray of hope that she could cling to, but even those were slowly dimming.

However, the worst that could have happened to her was encountering Shane!

Because she was controlled and conditioned into an emotionless marionette, her only weakness, which was the tiny fraction of reaction speed she lost, had given the human being the chance to almost killing her.

How beautiful this would have been!

gane had wished to die countless tis, but adequate steps had been taken to prevent her from doing so. She couldn’t just end her life whenever she wanted as it would only increase the lethality of the multitude of curses within her.

As such, being killed by others had been the only opportunity to gain peace.

Unfortunately, nothing went according to her wishes.

Instead, Shane’s attack had caused her to instinctively activate the [Forbidden] skill she had obtained from the Sin of Gluttony, manifesting a mbrane around her body that devoured everything in her surroundings.

Even those that were stronger would be reduced to a sack of bones and at, decreasing their strength by at least 10%, even if they were more than several stages higher than she was!

Nevertheless, the price to activate this skill was huge.

It deprived gane of almost everything she had left of her own will, leaving her with a tiny fraction that was not even worth ntioning while her hope had been shattered.

However, neither her own will, the insufferable pain caused due to the curses, or the wishes of the races she belonged to mattered.

The mont she was transported to an unknown, yet mystic, glamorous place she was swept through by so much mana, that she was unable to move a single inch.

The mont she attained a perfect foundation, gane had been enveloped in a mbrane of mana before she was teleported to the place she found herself at now.

Her feet touched the ground that was, in fact, clouds.

Despite this amazing fact, her gaze was trained on the massive palace that was only a few hundred ters away from here.

A lengthy white alley paved out of the most exquisite material she had ever seen suddenly swam into her view, revealed by the clouds that slowly parted.

Streams of a golden and silverish hue perated the air, turning everything even more bewitching than it was at the first glance.

With every second that gane spent enveloped in the golden-silverish hue, her mind beca clearer and she subconsciously took the first step forward.

After taking the first step, her other foot followed suit and she began to walk towards the palace as if in a trance. The palace was shrouded in a dense aura filled with the golden-silverish hue.

Subconsciously taking one step after another, gane sensed the mana becoming denser around her, only to dodge her, brushing past gane.

At the sa ti, the golden-silverish aura swept through her, seemingly ridding her of the baggage she had brought along with her.

The curses she harbored were becoming weaker by the second, and the pressure weighing on her had already worn out, allowing gane’s last tiny fraction of will to resurface.

Her eyes had already turned red, revealing the joy she felt as her lips curled upwards, revealing her first radiant smile.

At that mont, she had already stepped through the gigantic doors that seed to reveal the seemingly empty interior of the ginormous palace.

Only then could she see the outlines of sothing unfathomable, sothing gane had never really expected to truly exist.

The being was enveloped in a thick layer of golden-silverish streams of mana that radiated the aura of sothing that was countless tis grander than the strongest being she had ever encountered.

This included the god-like powerhouses from the advanced race she belonged to!

‘Is…that the administrator?’ She thought with a sliver of fear rising within the pits of her stomach.

At that mont, the being got up from the throne that was placed at the far end of the hall, causing the energy currents in the surroundings to ripple violently as if they were seemingly screaming to gain attention from the mysterious being.

This simple move of the being in front of her had released a shockwave, forcing gane to retreat several steps as she instinctively clutched her chest and felt her heart thumping wildly against her ribcage.

‘There was not even a trace of mana involved…this was just his physical strength?!? How is that even possible….and they want to defeat…this being…?’

“Do you still want to die, gane?”

The calm, yet sonorous voice of a man reverberated through the large hall, bouncing off the walls, piercing right into her heart.

The question startled gane and dragged her out of her train of thoughts, making her forget everything else.

At the sa ti, the simple yet direct question caused her to reveal everything she had hidden so far.

Sohow, the curses, manipulations, and other ans to control gane had been completely lifted off of her, dispersing into nothingness.

She felt as if sothing the being had sohow reached for the deep-rooted curses and controls locked within so part of her brain, yanking them out of her despite not even taking a step towards her. She gasped as the sudden tug caused her legs to give in as she began to cry out loudly.

Her voice resounded through the entire hall, but the being that had spoken to her didn’t say anything. He rely watched her, giving her the opportunity to feel how it was to be truly alive, to be able to move however she wanted, and reveal her emotions.

Though tears were streaming down her face, she was smiling, as if she had been reborn.

Everything felt like a first-ti experience to her, and she never wanted to return to her terrible life; to the situation, she had just left behind.

“It looks like you’ve already made a decision, huh? Well, that was to be expected. So races are truly cruel to their prodigies and cross all limits in their greed to achieve sothing unattainable.

I could make it right for you, let grant you one wish!”

These words sealed the end of a torturous chapter in gane’s long life, initiating the second chapter of a free and young Halfling, who had lived a life in fear, pain, and under the control of others, which was sothing that had now changed!
