Soul of Fire!

The instant Sam activated the ability, flas erupted from his body.

Crimson light swallowed him whole as the fire ignited not just his skin, but his very soul.

He could feel it—his spirit itself was wrapped in fla, burning brighter with each heartbeat.

The heat wasn’t painful.

In fact, it wasn’t even heat anymore.

It was power—pure, raging power, flowing through his veins and flooding every cell.

And when the energy reached its peak—

Fwish! BOOM!

A shockwave burst outward.

Sam’s body blazed with living fire, the crimson aura dancing wildly around him, bending space and distorting the air.

He couldn’t feel the flas touching him, but they consud everything nearby.

He was fla incarnate now.

"Huh—?"

The [Darkness Monarch] didn’t even get the chance to finish the word before his colossal hand shot forward and seized Sam in its grip.

’Good,’ Sam thought, grinning through the flas. ’Now I can see everything clearly.’

Inside the monarch’s dark palm, hundreds—no, thousands—of tendrils slithered toward him like snakes.

Each one tried to pierce his skin, to drain him, to crush him.

But the mont they brushed against his aura, they vanished.

Instantly vaporized by the inferno cloaking his body.

Screeches echoed within the monarch’s hand as it began to sizzle and smoke.

The flas burned from the inside, spreading deeper and deeper through the creature’s flesh.

"Let’s see how you handle this," Sam muttered.

"Primordial Hellscape!"

He unleashed the skill directly from within the monarch’s grasp.

The air ignited with a deafening roar, and fire flooded outward from Sam’s core, engulfing the massive hand holding him.

"WHAT—!?"

The monarch’s voice trembled with genuine panic.

For the first ti, the creature of endless darkness felt pain.

Its shadowy tendrils twisted frantically, trying to extinguish the blaze, but the fire was too pure, too powerful.

It wasn’t normal fla.

It was primordial fire, fire that devoured the concept of existence itself.

And in seconds, the entire arm was reduced to nothing but ash and smoke.

Fwish! Thud!

Sam dropped to the ground, landing in a crouch as embers flickered off his cloak.

He looked up. The monarch’s hand was gone, completely erased.

The creature’s regeneration tried to respond, forming new tendrils and dark flesh, but nothing happened.

Its body refused to heal.

"YOU..." the [Darkness Monarch] roared, voice echoing across the void. "YOU CAN’T—"

Sam ignored him entirely.

His eyes flicked toward his primordial clone, who was already smiling.

Without hesitation, the clone activated the sa ability, and was instantly enveloped in identical flas.

"He can’t hurt us anymore," Sam said calmly, his tone flat and focused. "Let’s end this quickly."

The clone nodded once.

Both of them spread their wings, the black and crimson feathers igniting at the tips.

Then, together, they launched themselves into the air like twin cots.

"You take his legs," Sam ordered. "I’ll go for the head."

If they could ignite all its limbs, every piece of it, the monarch would have nowhere left to escape.

As they closed the distance, Sam saw the [Darkness Monarch] staring at its missing hand in disbelief.

The giant’s head turned toward him, eyes blazing with white light.

Even with half its body gone, its size dwarfed him a thousand tis over.

But Sam didn’t flinch. The monarch’s anger boiled over.

"JUST... DIE!"

It brought its remaining arm down like a hamr.

The sheer pressure split the ground apart, tearing rifts across the battlefield.

But before the strike landed, the monarch suddenly froze.

Its attack veered off course, missing Sam entirely.

"Huh?"

Sam only grinned, he already knew the reason why.

Both of the monarch’s legs were dissolving.

The fire had already eaten through them. The clone had done its job perfectly.

The monarch’s body began to collapse, the once towering figure falling forward like a mountain toppling over.

"This is..."

The creature’s countless eyes widened in disbelief.

"What?" Sam grinned. "Didn’t notice the clone?"

He could see the realization dawn on the monarch’s face.

It understood now, it couldn’t win. Not like this.

Its darkness couldn’t consu what didn’t fear the dark.

Its regeneration couldn’t rebuild what the flas erased.

And so, with no other choice, the [Darkness Monarch] tried to retreat.

Its body started to lt into the ground, tendrils seeking the safety of the shadows below.

If it could hide, it could recover.

If it could recover, it could fight again.

It didn’t need victory today. It just needed survival.

But Sam wasn’t about to let that happen.

"You’re not leaving."

His voice turned cold, sharp as his blade.

He raised his sword and pointed it at the falling monarch.

"Die."

Primordial... Fireball!

The mont Sam used this new ability that he just thought about on the spot, a massive sphere of fire began to form at the sword’s tip.

It pulsed with deep crimson light, swirling with dark aura. Then he fired.

The fireball scread through the air, tearing through space itself before colliding with the monarch’s upper body.

The creature lifted what remained of its arm in a desperate attempt to shield itself, but the explosion obliterated it instantly.

BOOM!

The fireball detonated, engulfing the monarch’s head and chest in fire.

When the flas finally cleared, most of its torso was gone.

Only part of its head remained, half its skull, one glowing white eye, and the core deep within its chest, pulsing weakly.

The monarch trembled, staring up at Sam with disbelief.

"Just... what... is happening...?" it muttered weakly.

Even now, it tried to sink into the ground.

If it could just reach the shadows—

But then it felt sothing behind it. A familiar heat.

’Huh? Why do I feel—’

Before the thought finished, another fireball struck.

This one from behind. The primordial clone’s attack.

The explosion consud the last piece of the monarch’s body.

There was no scream this ti. Just light.

And then, silence.

The [Darkness Monarch] was gone.

Completely erased from existence.

Sam descended slowly, landing beside his clone as the ashes faded into the wind.

Then—

Ding!

[You have slain the "Darkness Monarch."]

For a second, Sam just stood there, breathing heavily.

Then he grinned.

"Heh..."

He raised his primordial sword, admiring the faint glow along its edge.

’I wonder if this’ll even work,’ he thought, looking down at the monarch’s fallen remains.

Could he even absorb sothing that massive?

The [Darkness Monarch]’s core would be enormous—larger than anything he’d absorbed before.

But as soon as he wondered, his sword began to respond.

From the blade’s surface, a massive tendril erged, so large it nearly matched the monarch’s torso in width.

"What the hell..." Sam muttered.

It didn’t make sense—his sword wasn’t even a fraction of that size.

How was it producing sothing so gigantic?

He didn’t understand it, but he didn’t stop it either.

The tendril extended outward, plunging straight into the remains of the monarch’s body.

All the dried tendrils that once composed the creature’s flesh crumbled and disintegrated.

Then, slowly, the tendril pulled sothing free.

A core, huge, black, and glowing faintly red at the center.

It pulsed like a heart, dripping with dark energy.

The tendril dragged it back toward the sword’s mouth.

But instead of consuming it in one bite like it had with the others, the core began to dissolve.

It broke apart into glittering particles, flowing into the blade like liquid light.

Sam could feel the surge imdiately. Power flooded into him.

Strength, vitality, essence, everything multiplied.

Each fragnt of energy from the monarch felt like a storm of fire rushing through his veins.

He steadied himself, gritting his teeth as the energy poured in.

’This must be because it devoured so many monsters,’ he realized.

’Their power... their essence... it’s all inside it. And now it’s all coming to .’

He couldn’t help but smile as the process continued.

And when the last trace of the core vanished into the sword—

Ding! Ding!

[Congratulations to Sam Walker for leveling up to Level 8 of the Forsaken Rank!]

[Congratulations to Sam Walker for leveling up to Level 9 of the Forsaken Rank!]

Sam blinked.

"Two levels?" he muttered, laughing under his breath. "Damn..."

Only one more to go before he could take on his next advancent task.

He could already feel the barrier thinning, the power inside him begging to evolve.

But before he could think any further, sothing else caught his attention.

The air around him trembled.

Energy gathered in the spot where the monarch had died.

Sam turned his head, and froze.

A massive spirit had appeared above the battlefield.

It towered over the ruins, its translucent form glowing faintly with the remnants of darkness and fire.

"Oh..." Sam whispered with a grin, ’Right.’
