Ophelia noticed the shocked look on his face and asked with a worried tone. "What is it, Rick? Is sothing wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
"No, it’s not that."
"Then what is it?" Ophelia asked as she tried approaching him, but to her surprise, she realised Rick was actually staring intently at the drawings on the cave wall.
He placed a hand on the cave wall and his smile broadened even more.
In his previous life, he had heard about caven drawing on cave walls, but to actually see one in real life, Rick couldn’t conceal his excitent right now.
"Did you draw all of these?" Rick asked as he turned around to glance at her.
"Yeah, I did. It’s stupid, isn’t it." Ophelia smiled wryly as she rubbed the back of her head, because these drawings were like a hobby of hers and not too many elves in the clan shared her interest or enthusiasm in drawing.
"Stupid? No, of course not. It’s beautiful."
"Huh? It is?" Ophelia’s brows furrowed in confusion.
"Yeah, it’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen."
Ophelia couldn’t believe she had heard him correctly, because it was strange to hear him use such words for sothing she had made, when there were a lot of other elves in the clan who saw her as the weird elder who liked to play with sand on the walls.
If she wasn’t the shaman of the clan or a powerful elf in the tribe, many would have disrespected her even more, because no one ever really bothered to care about what she was doing on the cave walls or why she was even doing it in the first place. But right now, for the first ti ever, an elf had actually shown interest in her drawings and she didn’t even know how to react to such a discovery.
anwhile, Rick was genuinely impressed with the art on the wall.
It wasn’t as stylish as the art of a modern-day artist, but it was the most primitive drawing he had ever seen and it was still good no matter how many tis he stared at it.
Besides, he was genuinely impressed by how colourful the paintings and drawings were, so he wondered where the colourful pignts had been derived from.
"Hmm," Rick humd as he stared at the paintings. "Is it just , or does it seem like you’re trying to tell us sothing with these drawings on the wall?"
Hearing this, Ophelia was genuinely stunned by the words the young elf was saying.
While most elves would see nothing of importance on the wall, this young elf finally understood why she had developed this hobby of hers.
A genuine smile graced her lips and she walked closer to Rick before offering him the fruits he had initially co to receive.
"Yes, Rick. You’re right about what you said. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of recording important events in our clan so that many unborn elves will know what happened to us when we’re no longer here to spread the word ourselves."
In other words, Ophelia had always been interested in recording elf history for future generations to co.
It started out as a simple hobby of hers but as ti passed, it genuinely beca a part of her.
Now, whenever she was bored and had nothing to do, Ophelia would simply find a space on her cave walls to draw sothing new.
"So what does all of this an?" Rick asked as he grabbed a Thornfig fruit to eat.
"Do you really want to know?"
"Mm-hmm."
"It’s about how we elves used to live before the Vikings raided our hos."
Hearing this, Rick’s eyes widened in surprise as he alternated his gaze between Ophelia and the drawings on the wall.
"Does it contain what happened here as well? Because I heard the Chieftess is currently fighting against a different clan, so do your drawings contain how the conflict began and why there’s a clan battling ours?"
"Yes, everything you want to know is right here."
"Really? Can you show ?"
Normally, these histories were stories parents would tell their children at night, so by now most elves around Rick’s age would have already known the stories about the Vikings and why there was an ongoing conflict between the Wood Clan and the Night Clan.
But since Rick had recently lost his mories, Ophelia could easily understand why he would be interested in knowing everything most elves already knew.
"Alright. If you want to know about the Vikings and the conflict between us and the Night Clan, then I suggest you’ll need to know everything from how it all began and how we elves had always been living before the war began. Co, follow ." Ophelia beckoned for him to follow her and Rick was taken to a certain corner of the cave.
Upon arriving there, Rick noticed a small heap of sand on the floor.
Looking closely, it looked like clay, but the mont Ophelia hunkered down to grab a small amount of it, she clamped her hands and slowly uttered a few words.
The words were spoken in a language he had never heard of, but the mont Ophelia was done, the sand in her hands slowly turned into a rainbow of colourful dust particles.
"Woah." Rick gasped and Ophelia smiled before drifting her gaze to her painting.
She blew the dust particles at the paintings in front of her, and Rick’s jaw dropped the mont he noticed the paintings on the wall moving on their own.
"What?!"
