“Eh... Does that an pa was friends with Mr. Winter?”

Wisana slipped. If he recalled correctly, pa was not in that expensive Dominion book, which ant he was probably in the Bunny Burner.

“Vin?” The old man smiled. “They were so close that I sotis thought that they were twins. The professors at Harvard even called them ‘A Disastrous Duo’.”

Hearing that, Wisana let out a laugh.

“It sounds like pa.”

“They were such bad boys. One liked to tease the teachers and one was so flirty he even hit on the teachers. Think about it! The university had to call and tell to reprimand them.”

Wisana laughed out loud. It was not a surprise to know that his pa was like that because he was still the sa even now!

“Then, pa has been in love with Ms. Nittaya since then?”

Wisana smiled. However, the question got Payu quiet.

He did not expect this young man to be this straightforward.

“You know him. Vin wiggles his tail at every single cute girl.”

“You’re right.” Wisana chuckled.

“There’s only Wimon, who could take him down.” The old man smiled mischievously. “Vin is lucky that he gets to wed two incredible won, even though a stray dog like him doesn’t deserve the wives and such adorable kids.”

“Hahahaha! Couldn’t agree more.” Wisana laughed happily.

“If it was when my son was still alive, Vin wouldn’t be able to get Nit. Winter was very possessive. Not only Vin, but also all the guys out there. I didn’t think Nit would even get a chance to wed.”

“I totally understand that.”

The younger man bead. The old man let out a loud laugh. He had heard, too, that Wisana was pretty possessive of his granddaughter.

“I see. If Na was still alive, I don’t even know if Vin would be able to get married.”

Payu said while laughing.

Wisana halted and raised his eyebrow.

“Na?” He asked since he thought that he heard his na.

“Yes, Na,” Payu said. “Ah... I forgot that you don’t know. My son’s real na is actually Wisana, too.”

The younger man froze. The surprise got him.

“Like ?” Wisana smiled awkwardly.

“Actually, your na was from my son.” Payu grinned. “Vin took his best friend’s na for you.”

Wisana was speechless. It was not a surprise. It felt... strangely warm.

He just learned that the na ‘Wisana’ was actually from ‘Winter’, one of the legends in Pride. Even though Vincent was still far from Winter, the resemblance got his heart pounding.

“You’re surprised?” Payu asked with a smile.

“Yeah.” He scratched the back of his neck.

Seeing that, Payu smiled gently.

“This is a good day. We finally et and get to talk.”

“Y... Yes?”

“I’ve been wanting to talk to you like this for a long ti. I’ve heard a lot about you, and I didn’t think that you’d actually be this humble. Vin told that you’ve done so much and that you two are quite similar.”

The old man smiled mischievously. Wisana could only chuckle nervously.

“All the girls in school gathered around you on Valentine’s Day. You stomped your seniors to a pulp. Lighting the fireworks and throwing them into the teacher’s room. And losing your virginity to a teacher when you were at the school camp in twelfth grade.”

“Ahh... I didn’t, Mr. Payu. Tun, my friend, wasn’t drugged at the ti, so he woke up and helped .”

“Oh really? But Vin told that the teacher’s already done the deed.”

“She has not!!” The younger man screeched. “Please don’t believe him much. You have to be very careful with what this man says.”

The old man laughed happily.

It was such a happy laugh that Wisana could feel it. He thought that Mr. Payu would be a strict man because of his position as the wizard of e-comrce.

He was actually a nice old man.

His smile looked so bright. It was still the sa as that of the man in the photos. He looked genuinely happy.

“Thank you for wasting your ti talking with an old man like today, my son.”

“Not at all.” Wisana waved his hand. “It didn’t waste my ti at all. You can call at any ti.”

Payu grinned.

“You really resemble Wimon when you smile, especially those eyes,” Payu said.

“Everyone says that.” Wisana nodded.

“Okay. I think we should leave the room. Your sister should be worried.”

Seeing that Payu was about to stand up, the boy raised his eyebrow.

“Is this all that you wanted to talk about?”

“Mhmm... This is all.”

The old man shrugged. Wisana was confused. Was this really all that he wanted to say? What was the point of the story? It was him who prompted the old man to tell him the origin of Pride.

“Ah... There’s one more thing.”

Payu said. Wisana looked at him.

“It’s during the war now, right? In Pride?”

“Huh? Ah, yes.”

“I heard that things are about to get ssy.”

“Yes.” Wisana smiled nervously.

“Mhmm.” Payu bead at him. “You know, I’m a big fan of Vincent.”

“Eh? Vincent... ?” Wisana pointed at himself.

“Yes, my son. I’ve been following Vincent for a while now. May I ask you a favor about the war that’s about to begin?”

Hearing that, Wisana blinked.

“Ah... If I can do whatever it is, it’s fine, I guess.”

“Of course, you can.”

The old man walked up to Wisana and grabbed both of his shoulders. He grabbed them tighter as his eyes shone brightly with determination.

“Don’t lose to anyone in the war.”

“Yes?” Wisana raised his eyebrows up high.

“That’s the favor I want to ask of you. I hope you can do it, Vincent. You’re everyone’s hero.”

The more he listened to him, the more Wisana got confused. He did not expect Mr. Payu to say this. The old man’s eyes were so determined that he was speechless. Wisana did not avoid the gaze, either, because those eyes, at the sa ti, gave him strength. He actually felt like he would not lose to anyone.

He slowly gave out a grin. His amber eyes sparkled.

“Yes, I promise. Vincent will not lose to anyone.”

The old man bead at him.

“Good! Then, let’s go out.”

He patted his grandson’s shoulder as an encouragent before he put his arm around him and led the way out.

“Ah, I heard from Vin that you love breeding flowers? I have so many kinds of orchids here. Can you help ?”

“Of course, I’m very good with flowers.”

Another busy day had passed. The sky was now painted light orange. The sunlight was slowly disappearing.

The kids were all standing in front of the grey Honda Civic (with a broken tail light). Mavin was still in his usual casual outfit. Next to him was a woman with light brown hair. She was still as pretty as when she was younger. Her jade eyes looked at Waree, who was about to get into the car.

“Don’t bother your brother too much, Nam. You can be whiny at tis.”

The lady said. Waree smiled at her.

“He’s my brother. I can be whiny as much as I want, right, big bro?”

She turned to look at Wisana, who was about to get into the driver’s seat. The man blinked at her before he shrugged.

“If it’s not during my alone ti with my sweetheart, of course.”

“Big bro!”

Waree pouted while the others laughed at her. Maysa glared at the man.

“What? I don’t an you. I an Polla.”

“Wisana!”

Maysa almost breathed fire at him. When she saw that Wisana was smiling like he was winning, she let out a scoff and got inside the car. Everyone laughed at the scene. Wisana turned to the lady next to Mavin.

“Please take care of Nam for , Wisana. My daughter can be very stubborn, so please feel free to scold her. You can even slap her butt if talking doesn’t work.”

“Mom, I’m a grown-up.”

Waree glared at her mom. Wisana did not say anything.

He stared at the brown-haired lady, whose face resembled Waree so much. She smiled at him. It was a genuine one just like Mr. Payu’s.

Wisana smiled lightly and nodded.

“Don’t worry, Ms. Nittaya. I’ll take good care of her. She’s my stubborn sister after all.”

“Thank you so much.” Nittaya bowed a little. “You can also visit us here whenever you like. Your dad’s truly in a good mood today. He ate a lot.”

“Sure. I’ll co again.”

Nittaya smiled sweetly at him. Waree turned to her brother and gave him a proud smile.

“What’s that smile for? Get in. I have to et Baron at 8.”

“Yes, sir.”

The little sister got into the car.

Wisana was about to do the sa when Mavin called out to him.

“Na!”

“What is it now, pa?” Wisana asked. “If you want to stay over, no can do.”

“It’s not that.” Mavin smiled.

“Then, what is it?”

Wisana tilted his head. The dad sighed loudly and looked his wife in the eye before he said.

“Do your best.”

“Huh?!” The young man narrowed his eyes. “Do what?”

“I don’t know. Whatever you’re doing, just do your best.”

Wisana was confused, but he was used to his pa’s strangeness, so he did not ask further. He only bead at him.

“Alright. Whatever it is, I’ll do my best.”
