“What’s happening here, Jinnie? I’m being forced to stay, am I?” Wisana asked.

“I don’t know either.”

The AI answered helplessly. She started floating around the room as if she was searching for sothing suspicious, but she did not find anything like that at all.

“I think this is very strange,” Wisana said briefly, before sitting down on the cushion.

“I think so, too.”

“Mo thinks so, three.”

The last small voice made two adults turn to glance at the little one who started learning how to speak her opinion now.

“Especially that weird head man. He kept staring at Papa.”

Hearing that, Wisana slipped out a laugh. He finally understood now why little Mo seed so upset. She was actually being protective of her father.

“He’s not a bad guy, Mo,” Wisana said smilingly. “He’s just got a bad mouth. You have to promise that you will not bite anyone again. Also, don’t call Papa, too. It’s Mommy, for now. Do you understand?”

“I understand.” The girl said with a pouting face. “But I can’t promise you about not biting that weird hair again!”

She said with a groaning noise, while Wisana was completely amused by the words ‘weird hair guy’ at the bottom of his heart. It seed like Mo started picking up so burning nagging from him now, too.

“But it’s very strange, Master.” Suddenly, Jinnie spoke up.

“There’re like hundreds of strange things in this town, Jinnie. Which one you’re talking about?”

“Well, about the monsters that attack this town.”

Hearing Jinnie’s words, Wisana reached up to touch his lips as he considered.

“Normally, monsters don’t attack players in the town’s area, except players attack them first and put them in berserk mode, or another case,” Jinnie said as she floated to cling to her master’s shoulder.

“What case?” Wisana asked.

“Have you ever heard about those treasure-guarding type monsters?”

“What are they?” Wisana asked.

“They’re monsters that watch over those rare, high-ranked items. To make it easy to understand, they’re like Sarquros. Master rembers how furious that dragon was when we went into the cave to steal the egg from that dragon, right?”

Listening to that, his amber eyes looked down at the little girl who was sitting on his lap, and then his brain recalled that brutal black dragon right away. He rembered it well that it was wildly chasing after him to get its egg back.

“Who would forget that?” Wisana said in a soft voice.

“Right, this type of monster will chase after the player who steals from it everywhere, and attacks even in town areas. A case like this can happen in so big cities as well. But since these big cities have strong security systems, monsters that chase after players will get killed before they can even attack.”

“But otherwise, small towns that don’t have good security systems like this, there’s no way they can hold against treasure-guarding monsters, right?”

Wisana completed her sentence as he rubbed his lips.

“But I think that’s not the case, Jinnie.” He concluded. “If soone stole a rare item to the town, they probably would have sold it for money by now, and the monster would have followed the item to the rchant who bought it already.”

“You have a point there.” Jinnie nodded in agreent.

“Also, you saw it too, Jinnie, that there’s no strong fighter player at all in this town. So, co to think of it, they’re not even capable of stealing anything in the first place.”

“That’s right.”

Jinnie agreed. She was recalling when her master fought with people in this town. She rembered that these people were all from low-ranked classes, since, of course, this was a tourist town.

“Then what can possibly attack this town, and why?”

Wisana still could not make head or tail of it.

“It probably looks like a human.” Jinnie guessed.

“Why?”

“Well, they thought that you were a monster when they saw you. So, it can be assud that their enemy has characteristics like a human.”

“Or it can disguise itself as a human.”

After their guesses about this topic, both started placing so of the pieces together now. Because, after seeing this town’s condition, Wisana could not deny that he got hooked on finding out what was happening to this place!

“The monster’s probably an earth elent,” Wisana said.

“What makes you think that?”

“Because the town’s full of sand everywhere. Also, these people called Sand monster, too.”

“I see.”

Jinnie looked away as she tried to figure this out, too.

“Jinnie, can you do research for for now? Try finding any monsters that attack first, earth elent, and anything that’s related to sand. I have a feeling that we will totally need this information.”

Hearing the order, Jinnie paused, glancing at her master with a doubtful face.

“Please don’t tell that you’re thinking about helping these people,” Jinnie said.

“Well, if there’s really sothing going on here, how can I just leave these weak people waiting for their death? Also, this is the war period. GMs won’t pay attention to a report like this. And Mo can take this opportunity to train her skills, too. See, everyone gets a benefit out of this.”

He said with a big smile, touching his daughter’s cheeks as she giggled.

And Jinnie? She narrowed her eyes at him in deep disbelief.

“Please be more serious, Master.”

Hearing that, the master paused, before curling up a wry smile.

“I am. It seems fun.”

“Here we go.” The AI complained. “Master, this is not the ti to get in any trouble. We’re here to farm so levels, but why are you acting heroic now? You’re Vissara, not Vincent right now, aren’t you?”

Getting scolded by his AI with a frown, the master was just laughing cheekily.

He reached out to touch Jinnie’s shoulder with a sweet smile.

“Co on. It’s been a while. Let stretch out here a bit, will you? We’re doing a good thing, I’m getting EXP and Mo’s getting trained. There’re only good benefits.”

“Again, you always say that.” The listener groaned in the throat.

“Co on, a fun thing doesn’t co to us very often.”

“But I have a feeling that it’s trouble that’s coming.”

CREAK!

The door slid open again in the middle of their eting. Every eye in the room turned to the newcors in unison and saw an old man with white hair and two girls supporting him up by his sides.

“Hello there, Miss. Sorry for keeping you waiting, but it’s just an old thing that walking isn’t so convenient to do anymore.”

The dry raspy voice with liveliness hinting in it rang up with a smile. Wisana turned to give him a smile in reply before he nodded slightly.

“It’s okay. I just got here a while ago.”

“Jeng didn’t be a total jerk to you, did he?”

“Uh, ...no, he didn’t,” Wisana replied smilingly, even though his mind thought the opposite way!!

“That’s alright. I got it. He did be a total jerk to you again. This grandson is so bad.”

The old man spoke as he hobbled into the room. The two girls in kimonos who ca with him were smiling at Wisana. A mont later, the grandpa sat down on the cushion on the opposite side of Wisana, before the girls who brought him in bowed and left slowly.

“So, you’re a tourist, Miss?”
