“Oh, so you’re the new Secretary Han! Nice to et you, nice to et you! You're really beautiful, Secretary Han!”

“Hello, Director Liu. Thank you for the complint.”

After the customary greetings, Pan Lin glanced curiously at the envelope in Director Liu’s hands. It was oddly shaped—wide at the bottom, narrow at the top.

“What’s that? A file?”

Director Liu gave a half-hearted chuckle,

“No, just sothing a relative mailed . I’ll take it ho later.”

Pan Lin didn’t press,

“Alright then, as long as you’ve t each other. From now on, I won’t be handling anything related to President Lin anymore. If there’s anything, contact Secretary Han directly. Her office number will be shared in the group chat soon.”

“No problem.”

After leaving the admin departnt, Pan Lin asked Han Wenwen,

“We’ve covered most of the departnts. Let’s swing by the warehouse before we wrap up. Tired yet? Walking this long in heels can’t be easy.”

Ever since the draw-lots incident, Han Wenwen had felt her stamina improving. Though she was a bit tired from all the walking, she wasn’t exhausted.

“I’m alright.”

“You don’t seem like it’s your first ti in heels. You look like a pro.”

Han Wenwen had occasionally practiced wearing them in private—after all, it did help pique her dear Zhengran-ge’s interest. But it was rare, so she just casually replied,

“I wear them sotis.”

“Alright. We’ll rest after we’re done with the warehouse. It’s behind the first floor.”

The two took the elevator down together.

Five minutes later, as they finished touring the warehouse and headed back to the main building lobby—

They ran straight into her uncle and aunt, who were just stepping off the elevator.

Han Wenwen’s fox-like eyes widened, and her uncle and aunt—both looking a little worn—stared back in equal surprise.

The three of them locked eyes.

It was completely unexpected.

Han Wenwen asked in confusion,

“Uncle? Aunt? What are you two doing here?”

Her uncle looked at Wenwen in her form-fitting skirt, black stockings, and heels—she looked every bit the mature office lady. It was his first ti seeing her like this.

“Wenwen?! You… this outfit...”

Her aunt was stunned too,

“Wenwen? Why are you dressed like this? And what are you doing here?”

Pan Lin looked to Han Wenwen curiously,

“These two are…?”

Han Wenwen quickly made introductions,

“Pan-jie, this is my uncle and aunt.”

Then turned to her relatives,

“Uncle, Aunt—this is Pan-jie, Secretary to Vice President Jiang.”

The uncle had no idea who this Vice President Jiang was, but anyone with a secretary probably had a high position. He quickly extended a hand,

“Hello, Secretary Pan. I’m Wenwen’s uncle.”

“Nice to et you.”

Han Wenwen noticed the curiosity in her aunt’s eyes and explained,

“I just started work here today. What brings you two here?”

Her aunt frowned,

“Started work? Wenwen, don’t you already have a part-ti job? We’re here to talk so business.”

“Hehe,” Han Wenwen covered her face with a giggle,

“I’ve got a few side gigs. So you’re doing business here in the north?”

She vaguely rembered her uncle ntioning half a year ago that they’d opened a small factory and even sent her so pictures. But she hadn’t thought that small factory would land them here.

Her uncle laughed,

“The market’s been rough these past couple years. We have to go wherever we can.”

“Oh, I see. So, did it go well?” she asked.

“Uh…” her uncle hesitated.

After going to the procurent departnt, they were told the proposal still needed to be reviewed. No confirmation, no clear answer.

“It went okay.”

Pan Lin glanced around and suddenly felt sothing was off.

“Excuse —did you say you were here for business? With the procurent departnt?”

The uncle nodded,

“Yes, the procurent departnt.”

“You’re leaving already? No one’s escorting you?”

The uncle smiled,

“No need. We’re done talking.”

“No need?” Pan Lin’s tone turned stern.

“Company policy requires departnts to escort guests out, regardless of whether the deal goes through. Who did you et with?”

The aunt could tell now that Pan Lin didn’t seem like an ordinary employee—especially after Wenwen ntioned she was a secretary.

She gave Wenwen a glance,

“Wenwen, co here for a sec. I’ve got sothing to ask you.”

“Okay.”

Her aunt pulled her aside and asked quietly,

“Wenwen? That Vice President Jiang you ntioned just now…”

Smart as ever, Han Wenwen instantly caught on.

“Oh, that’s Vice President Jiang of Zhengshi Company.”

“Vice President?! So that woman is the VP’s secretary?”

Her aunt was shocked.

“Then why did such a high-ranking person personally guide you around on your first day?”

Han Wenwen smiled,

“Because I’m also a secretary—Zhengran-ge’s secretary.”

“Huh?”

Seeing her aunt confused, she didn’t beat around the bush and smiled,

“Auntie, I’ve never told you and Uncle this before, but since we ran into each other today, I’ll tell you now—Zhengran-ge started doing business back in high school. He’s now the president of Zhengshi Company. This whole company belongs to him.”

Her aunt could hardly believe her ears.

“You’re saying… Lin Zhengran? Wenwen, you’re saying your boyfriend is the president of Zhengshi Company? The president of this company?”

“Yup.” Han Wenwen nodded with a grin.

The revelation left her aunt frozen. As unbelievable as it sounded, the pieces were starting to fall into place.

As a woman herself, a strange thought popped into her head—she couldn’t decide if this child’s fate was incredibly lucky or... not.

A smile crept onto her face.

“This is unbelievable…”

Ever sensitive to others, Han Wenwen quietly asked,

“By the way, Auntie—Uncle’s deal didn’t go through, did it? What happened?”

Her aunt was montarily at a loss for words.

“Well…”

Soon, the couple explained what had happened—there was no way to keep it a secret with Pan Lin present anyway.

The uncle and aunt were invited to the VIP lounge,

While Han Wenwen went up to the seventh floor to find Lin Zhengran.

She knocked, and after a pause, heard his voice,

“Co in.”

As she pushed the door open, she saw Jiang-jiejie sitting next to her dear Zhengran-ge, wiping her mouth with a tissue.

A light blush tinged her face.

Perfect timing...

Lin Zhengran looked up,

“Wenwen, you’re back. How was the learning?”

Jiang Jingshi tried to act as if nothing had happened,

“Wenwen’s back.”

Han Wenwen blinked her fox-like eyes at Jiang-jiejie, the look in her gaze turning almost instantly sour with suspicion.

What had Jiang-jiejie and Zhengran-ge been doing just now in the office...?

Jiang Jingshi avoided her eyes, mortified, afraid she’d been found out.

Still, the little fox pursed her lips and said,

“Zhengran-ge, my uncle and aunt are here. I asked them to wait in the VIP lounge.”

“Uncle and aunt? What’s going on?”

“It’s kind of a coincidence. Here’s what happened…”

After listening, both Lin Zhengran and Jiang Jingshi were surprised.

Especially Jiang Jingshi—her hand froze mid-sip of water. Her face, already flushed, now turned slightly angry.

“What did you say? Director Liu from admin colluded with procurent? Wenwen, where’s Pan Lin now?”

“She already went to talk to Director Liu,” Han Wenwen replied.

Jiang Jingshi thought for a mont, then turned to Lin Zhengran,

“Zhengzheng…”

Knowing what she was about to say, Lin Zhengran stood up,

“Wenwen, I’ll go with you to see your uncle and aunt.”

Then said to Jiang Jingshi,

“Jingshi, I’ll leave the company matters to you. You’re better at this than I am.”

Jiang Jingshi nodded,

“I’ll handle it. Once I’m done, I’ll co to the VIP lounge to find you both.”

“Leaving it to you.”
