The atmosphere was clearly different as they sat back to the car, and Hector imdiately noticed it. It was sad, it wasn't dark, but it was just… empty. Jas' face was just still, that unreadable one, while Charlotte was still that childish one.
Hector couldn't really tell what had happened in front of Rafel and Hans. He watched them as they knelt there, but he couldn't tell if Jas could truly say goodbye and, honestly, he didn't need to know
It was between them how it was supposed to go, and he wasn't even worried about Jas and his emotions… because he knew that there wasn't any or even if there was a drop of emotion that might surface, he would surely have Charlotte on his side… a child who is a whole different world for him.
Moreover, Hector knew, or well, he had a card that would change the atmosphere in a second, and he was ready to use it.
"So next stop at Ferucci and Finn?" He asked as he looked outside the window, though Jas noticed sothing as he glanced at him… that Hector was covering his mouth, like he was trying to laugh but held it in or sothing.
"Yeah… sothing wrong or what?" Jas asked back, as he never saw Hector like this, like out of nowhere, just smiling, almost laughing, fighting it back.
"Well, I would say it's wrong, just ah… strange, I suppose." He answered as he finally looked at Jas, and that smile, man, that was a real smile.
"Strange about who, Ferucci?" Jas asked, as he knew that Finn is good because Hector provided info and even called him up on the phone to talk with him.
"Do you rember the mont when he changed? Like the smile, the white teeth, the skin, his hair, and just the whole deanor?"
"I do rember. He wanted to cut his finger down." Jas said, which Charlotte kind of tilted her head if she heard it right. "I was even a bit jealous of him, like he beca a model or sothing." He continued and just knew that sothing was wrong with that, as Hector's smile just grew bigger and bigger.
Though he couldn't rember anything more… that day was kind of blurry in his mind. He only rembered the "dramatic effect" part and the sheer surprise of seeing Ferucci beco another man in no ti.
"I think you look good." Charlotte's voice ca suddenly as she looked into Jas' eyes, and it was obvious he said it because of the jealousy part that Jas ntioned.
"Oh, thank you." He replied, petting her head. "But what about Ferucci? I can't think of anything really. Is there sothing done I don't know about?"
Hector didn't answer imdiately. He let out a laugh, shook his head, and then looked into Jas' eyes. "He has a girlfriend."
Silence… it was the type of silence that was just so funny… like Jas and Charlotte just looking in a dumb way at Hector, their eyes glued to him, with that confusion in both of them.
Yeah, even Charlotte was confused because, well… she heard things about Ferucci even when she was with Vallen… and it was even a surprise to her.
But most, it was a surprise to Jas, he couldn't even understand it well… like Ferucci having a girlfriend… that Ferucci, who loves to cut people open, to skin them, to crush their bones, cut their heads, who is the butcher of the family… sohow found love… love that is not prostitutes, strippers, hookers, but a real woman who loves him back.
"T-there is no way… can't be true…" He even stuttered as said because it was truly impossible.
"No, it is true. I t her at the hospital. She is a gorgeous woman, like I was speechless about her." Hector said as he now finally laughed. "Big boobs, big ass, and that body she has, my God, she is a—" He stopped as he kind of forgot Charlotte was there… the sa Charlotte who was looking at him with judging eyes.
"But how? He's just so ssy. How would a woman even notice who he is?"
"I don't know, and he hid her for months." Hector replied, but what Jas said was ture.
Ferucci was indeed a ssy person… and would continue to be one.
Blood on his suit, not just that, but the sll of it on him, because he had his best knife with him and had simply forgotten to clean it… and not just that. One look at him couldn't reveal how dangerous he was, talking with him only made it more obvious… there was just no way a woman would have noticed any of it.
The fucking man who has the most kills on his hands, after Hector… has found love… has been in love for months… the sa man who lives for torturing people, who is ntally unstable, a brutal killer, an artist to say… has found love.
"You can't believe it, huh?" Hector laughed more, pulling Jas out of his thoughts. "I was the sa, like there is no way he did it, but shit, I saw her with my own eyes and heard her say it out loud."
Girlfriend… Ferucci… but… it ans that—
"So she knows? Like, if no, then—"
"She doesn't know it," Hector interrupted Jas quickly. "I an, he knows sothing is up, knows about the Bellini family because of the fucking pistol engraving, but doesn't know about Ferucci himself like what he does and she knows even less about us."
Silence, as it was the worst thing about it all.
"He kills people, it is not sothing big." Charlotte's soft voice again… saying it so effortlessly that it made the whole situation more… absurd.
"It's deeper than that, Charlotte, and don't say sothing like this." Jas said, though he was smiling, because, well… Ferucci has indeed killed a lot of people, and when he wakes up from the coma, he will continue to kill… but in his own way. "I an, if she's not a liability, then everything's good."
"What does that word an?" Charlotte asked again. "Libaitly."
"Liability." Jas corrected her, though now even Hector laughed, and for sure it helped him and the whole situation, since he didn't really need to explain to Jas that he had sent Buch after Ferucci's girlfriend.
Charlotte with her question and the laugh helped Hector remain silent about it, because if sothing cos up… he will act.
