Chapter 70: So Sharp

"Leave...her...alone..."

Theo’s voice was low and deadly as his stance shifted, ready to break bones and ready to spill blood.

The two n laughed, not realising death was already walking toward them.

A slow clap echoed behind them.

Theo’s spine locked. Danielle’s eyes widened as she couldn’t believe her eyes who she just saw.

The man who kidnapped and beat her...

"Ethan...?"

He stepped through the smoke from the riot like he was born from it...

Ethan was the villain in everyone’s mind...so Heartless.

His eyes were starving with hunger for violence and revenge.

Theo and Frank set his warehouse on fire and almost made him burn alive inside. Thankfully, he was fast to react and escaped on ti.

But this little bitch put a tracker on him, and no matter how deep he was cutting in, the tracker only went deeper...being unable to get rid of it no matter what he did.

Even the doctor that was under Ethan was paid by Zack not to get involved and this made him more psychotic.

Theo and Zack...were like two annoying flees on his skin, biting him and then jumping away before he could smash them to death.

The two n from Zack turned toward him, raising their eyebrows and frowning their mouths in confusion.

"You are not part of this," one of them said.

Ethan smiled. It was again that icy, evil smile that could make crazy won fall for him and enemies fear for their lives.

A hungry predator’s smile who had nothing to give and nothing to lose.

"Wrong," he whispered. "This is all mine."

Then he moved and was faster than breath.

His knife slashed across the first man’s throat before the sound of the blade even reached the air.

Blood sprayed like paint onto the street. The second man tried to reach for a gun but Ethan stabbed the weapon straight through his palm. The man dropped screaming to the ground.

"Theo!!!!" Danielle scread, and Theo stepped in front of her, pushing her back.

Ethan twisted his knife free and kicked the man’s head into the ground.

There was an evil-apocalyptic silence of two bodies. Two cold deaths in less than ten seconds.

He turned his head slowly toward Theo.

"You are welco," Ethan chuckled like a flower that was blooming in the spring.

Theo’s hand reached for a knife hidden inside his sleeve. "Do not co closer...or I’ll have to beat you again."

Ethan stepped closer anyway.

Danielle tried to back away but his eyes snapped toward her, and her skin was covered in snowflakes. Her chest felt squeezed like a lemon with fear.

"You took her out to play like a little date," Ethan taunted. "How adorable."

Theo lunged first, fury bursted from him like fire.

Ethan caught his wrist mid-strike and twisted.

Bones shifted and pain shot up Theo’s arm.

He punched with his other hand. It connected with Ethan’s jaw but Ethan did not fall...He grinned.

"Still so slow, brother."

Unfortunately, Theo was not fully recovered from that fight just yet and wasn’t in his best ability to fight.

Danielle tried to run. Jackson suddenly appeared from the side and grabbed her tightly by the arms.

"No," she gasped. "Let go. Theo!"

Ethan looked at her and his eyes softened for a second like it looked so gentle...

After hearing Dani scream, Theo lost his attention while looking at Dani, questioning where were the other two n?

Then Ethan stabbed Theo...

He didn’t even notice how fast and deep the dagger went into his skin .

Ethan was so cruel...

Theo let out a choked breath, eyes widened with disbelief and agony. The knife glimred red as Ethan pushed it deeper into his flesh.

"My dear little brother...why don’t you die now, huh?"

"Th-Theo!!!!" Danielle shouted his na so loud her throat felt like it ripped open.

Ethan shoved Theo to the ground as if he weighed nothing. Blood spread beneath him like a dark shadow growing too fast.

Theo tried to crawl up. His fingers slipped in his own blood. He gasped, fighting the pain, refusing to lose consciousness.

"Bu...bu...nny...r...ru...n..."

Ethan crouched in front of him. "You should have stayed dead inside the family, brother."

Theo spat blood at his shoes, barely able to speak. "You...will never...touch her."

Ethan leaned closer and turned his voice into a whisper soaked in poison.

"I already did."

Jackson pulled Danielle toward the black van waiting by the curb. She clawed at his hands. She yelled, kicked, and begged.

"Theo... Theo please get up... please..."

Theo dragged himself forward, hand trembled against the pavent. Every inch felt like dying again.

His eyes suddenly turned blurred. But he still reached for her.

He had to reach her...she was his soul, and without her, Theo would have nothing again.

Jackson shoved Danielle into the van. She fought wildly but the doors slamd shut. Her fists pounded so hard bruises already ford.

Ethan straightened and stepped over Theo’s injured body.

"When Frank finds you," Theo forced out, voice couldn’t stop from shaking, "he will kill you."

Ethan chuckled. "Let him try."

He kicked Theo hard in the ribs. Theo’s breath vanished. Everything around him dimd like lights dying.

Ethan entered the van. He sat right beside Danielle. He grabbed her jaw gently, forcing her terrified eyes into his.

"You belong with us," he said. "You always did...my little plaything..."

The van engine roared to life. Tires screeched. They pulled away fast.

Danielle’s scream shattered the air one last ti.

"THEO!!!"

Her voice echoed long after the van vanished into the city.

Theo lay bleeding in the street. His hand finally dropped. His body was way too still for soone alive. The red light on the tiny device inside his palm blinked once more.

Signal sent, and Frank would co to save her one more ti...

But would he co in ti?

Theo’s eyes closed, his last conscious thought went through his chest like a prayer made of fire and rage.

"I am coming for you, Danielle..."

"It’s him?"

"Yes. Looks like Zack. We take him with us."
