~Junho~
I couldn’t stop shaking, my whole body locked around Woo Min like if I let go even a little he’d vanish and I’d burn up alone. Tears kept coming, hot and stupid, soaking his chest while he held so tight it hurt. The knot was still there, thick and throbbing, keeping us tied, but even that wasn’t enough anymore. His phone kept buzzing on the nightstand, each vibration like a punch to the gut.
"Junho, baby, listen," he started, voice rough, fingers in my hair tugging just enough to make look up. "I’m calling Jae. He’s mated, he’s a doctor, he’ll bring suppressants, he’ll stay with you. No sex, I swear, just scent to keep the heat from eating you alive. I have to go find Rin."
"No." The word ripped out of , sharp and ugly. "Fuck no. You’re not leaving for so kid while I’m knotted on your dick and crying like an idiot. Call soone else. Call the cops. Call whoever, just don’t.... " My voice cracked. "Don’t make sll like another alpha. I’ll throw up. I’ll fucking lose it."
He kissed my forehead hard, lips lingering. "You won’t be alone. I can’t stay and let him stay missing. He’s five, Junho. Five."
I shoved at his chest even though it did nothing. "And I’m in heat because of your stupid rut! You did this to ! You promised you’d take care of it!" I was yelling now, throat raw, nails digging into his arms. "Pick , you asshole. For once pick ."
His face twisted like I’d slapped him. "I am picking you. I’m making sure you’re safe so I can go get her and co right back."
"Bullshit." I laughed, wet and bitter. "You’re picking them. Always the family, right? This always happens to ."
He went still. Then he grabbed his phone, thumbed through contacts, hit call before I could stop him. Speaker on.
"Hey buddy," he said when he picked up, voice flat. "I need you. Now. Bring the strongest suppressants you’ve got. My guys in full heat, my rut broke his pills, and I have a family ergency. Rin’s missing, you owe one rember? ."
Woo Min hung up. I stared at him, chest heaving. "You’re really doing this."
"I have to."
I turned my face into the pillow so he wouldn’t see fresh tears. "Then go. Just go already."
He didn’t. He held instead, rocking slowly, whispering sorry over and over into my neck until the knot finally started shrinking. The second it went down enough he pulled out slow, both of us hissing at the drag, cum rushing out of in a hot ss. I curled into a ball instantly, cramps hitting hard, heat clawing up my spine like fire.
I heard him let the guy in, heard low voices in the hall, then footsteps. He stepped into the bedroom carrying a black dical bag, tall and broad like all Woo Min’s family, but his scent was softer, mated, locked down. Still hit like a brick.
I snarled from the bed, sheet clutched to my chest. "Get out."
His eyes flicked over , clinical, then to Woo Min. "He’s bad."
"Yeah." Woo Min’s voice cracked. "Suppressants?"
Jae pulled out a syringe and two vials. "These will tank the heat for eight hours minimum. Might knock him out. He’ll hate it."
"I already hate it," I snapped, trying to sit up, legs shaking. "Don’t co near with that shit."
Woo Min knelt by the bed, grabbed my hand. "Junho, what the fuck. Let him help, you been taking that shit already."
"No!" I yanked away. "I don’t want his scent on , I don’t want his hands, I don’t want anyone but you, you idiot! You think I’m gonna lay here calm while so other alpha babysits ? I’ll bite his fucking face off!"
He sighed, tired. "I’m mated, kid. My scent won’t trigger you worse. It’ll just... steady you."
"Fuck your steady!" I was crying again, couldn’t stop. "Woo Min, please."
Woo Min’s jaw clenched so hard I heard it. Then he nodded at him.
"Let him be if he doesn’t want it. The fuck?"
"Okay fine, fine" I agreed
He moved fast, grabbed my arm, swabbed alcohol, needle in before I could fight properly. I scread, thrashed, kicked at him.
The heat dulled almost instantly, like soone threw a blanket over the fire. My limbs got heavy, vision blurry.
"There," he muttered, tossing the syringe. "He’ll sleep soon."
Woo Min’s POV
I hit the park running, shoes slamming wet grass, night air biting my face. The place was crawling with cops, floodlights, volunteers calling Rin’s na. My cousin spotted , ran over, grabbed my shoulders.
"You ca. Thank God."
"Talk to ." My voice sounded wrong, too growly. Rut still simring under my skin.
"He was on the swings. I turned to tie my shoe two seconds and he was gone. No scream, nothing. We’ve swept the whole park twice."
I pushed past him, nose flaring. Too many scents humans, dogs, food carts, panic sweat. But I could filter. Always could. Ever since I was a kid I could tell ABO status in little kids before anyone else, like their scent hadn’t decided to hide yet. Adults were harder, layers of suppressants and life bullshit. But kids? Clear as day.
Rin was always sweet, milky almost, but with sothing sharp under it I could never place.
I walked the playground slowly, ignoring cops yelling at to stay back. Nose to the ground like a damn dog. Her scent trail was faint but there cotton candy from the treat she’d had, mixed with that underlying bite.
It led past the slides, past the sandbox, toward the tree line at the back where the park t woods.
I followed it, pushing branches aside, heart hamring. The trail got stronger. She’d been running. Scared.
Then I heard it small sniffles behind a fallen log.
"Rin?"
A whimper. Then a tiny body launched at my legs, arms wrapping tight. "Uncle Min!"
I dropped to my knees, hugged him hard, checked him over fast, no blood, no bruises, just dirt and tears. "Hey, hey, you’re okay. I got you."
He buried his face in my neck, shaking. "There was this scent that was pulling to dad, where’s he."
My blood went ice. "What scent? Don’t worry dad will be back soon with Father min okay? " Yu Jin and Park min had over done it and honestly this is why I still had so grudge over Park min, since he ca into our lives things have never been right or the sa.
"I don’t know the scent." His voice muffled against . "He slled... strong."
I froze.
Because now that he was pressed against , crying into my skin, his scent hit full force.
Sweet like always, but that sharp edge had blood into sothing huge, dark, impossible to miss.
No label yet, not alpha, not oga, not beta.
Sothing rarer.
Sothing that hadn’t been born in decades.
Enigma.
Like his father? It wasn’t ckar yet but...
And now Rin, five years old, terrified in my arms, was showing signs of the sa.
Fuck.
I carried Rin back toward the lights, his little hands fisted so damn tight in my hoodie that I could feel his tiny nails digging through the fabric, like if he loosened up even a second I’d straight-up vanish on him again, his face jamd into my neck still all wet and snotty from crying, but now he was doing this weird thing where he’d hiccup-sob once, then go dead quiet for a few steps, then suddenly mutter sothing random under his breath like the world hadn’t just scared the shit out of him.
Now I had the little dude safe in my arms, warm and breathing fast against my skin, but he kept pulling his head back every few seconds to stare at with those huge eyes, brow all scrunched up like he was solving so massive puzzle only he could see.
"Daddy Woo," he said out of nowhere, voice still wobbly but suddenly sharp, "why did the big dog sll like candy but also like when Papa’s mad?"
I almost tripped. "What?"
"He did," Rin insisted, nodding hard like this was obvious. "Sweet like those gummy worms you sneak , but also spicy-mad. And he said ’co play’ but his mouth didn’t move right. Like when I pretend to be a puppet but forget the words."
Jesus Christ. His preditated abilities ? No fucking way, Rin was too little to have such abilities. What was he? I needed to get in contact with Yu Jin before this got more serious.
"You’re okay now, buddy," I said, trying to keep my voice steady while my gut twisted. "We’re going back ho."
But Rin wasn’t done. He tilted his head, staring past into the dark like he could still see the guy. "He was lonely," he said, matter-of-fact, like he was talking about a kid at preschool who didn’t have anyone to sit with at lunch.
