Chapter 80: Chapter 78: The Exalted One, Why Are You in Such a Hurry?

With her hand on his leg, she could feel how solid it was.

’Is this what they an by tall and long-legged?’

Celeste Grant glanced down and, courting death, comnted, "Nice legs, Exalted One."

Javier Sinclair: "..."

’This woman vanishes for half a month, and the mont she returns, she’s this shaless. Touching my leg? Her flippant tongue is utterly improper.’

His gaze drifted subconsciously to the small face so close to his. ’How strange. I actually find looking at her to be... comfortable, pleasant. She’s decent-looking, even beautiful. Why hadn’t I noticed at first? Could it be that after spending so much ti together, her influence is rubbing off on ?’

Javier Sinclair’s gaze traveled from her forehead, past her nose, and finally landed on her lips. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to taste them.

His Adam’s apple bobbed, and he instinctively turned his face away.

’When did my mind start filling with such improper thoughts?’

Javier Sinclair released the hand on her neck and said in a cold voice,

"Get off."

She glanced at him and stood up, muttering under her breath, "You were the one who pulled

over, and now you’re telling

to get off. The Exalted One’s moods are as fickle as sumr weather—so hard to deal with."

Javier Sinclair raised his eyes slightly, staring at her.

"You have a problem with that."

Celeste Grant waved her hands dismissively.

"Of course not. How would I ever dare?"

As she spoke, she shot him a sidelong glance and continued, "But, Exalted One, that stunt you just pulled, yanking

into your lap... If it were any other woman, they would’ve already pegged you as a desperate lecher. And then—SLAP, SLAP—two slaps across the face."

’A lecher?’

’Desperate... since when... But then Javier Sinclair thought about his actions just now, and they did seem... inappropriate.’

’He didn’t know why he could never seem to control himself around this woman.’

Being called out like that made him feel a little uncomfortable, but his face remained impassive as he said, "So you’re saying you want to give

two slaps?"

His voice, laced with a hint of chill, drifted coolly into her ears.

Celeste Grant glanced at his face.

’Honestly, if it were anyone else, I definitely would have slapped them by now.’

At that thought, Celeste Grant rolled her eyes at him. "With a face like yours, how could I bring myself to do it?"

Javier Sinclair’s expression faltered for a mont. He lowered his head slightly, feeling a bit awkward. But his tone was still cold as he said, "Hmph. I don’t fall for that kind of flattery."

Celeste Grant peeked at him. ’Doesn’t fall for it? I bet he’s secretly pleased. But I wasn’t lying. This Archfiend is truly handso beyond compare; ordinary people can’t even hold a candle to him.’

Celeste Grant stared at him.

"You don’t fall for that, huh? Then what *do* you fall for, Exalted One?"

She saw him turn his face away, his ears turning red.

Celeste Grant smiled.

’Heh. Says one thing but ans another.’

’So The Archfiend was shy? Who would have thought the infamous leader of The Demonic Sects had such a side to him? The notoriously fearso Blood-Venerate... is actually kind of cute.’

At this thought, she felt a surge of confidence and couldn’t resist teasing him. She leaned in close, her voice a low whisper. "It’s been half a month. Did you miss , honey? If you don’t fall for *that* kind of thing, what kind of thing *do* you fall for? I’m open to anything, really."

Javier Sinclair instantly froze, his mind going blank for a second, and he felt a strange sense of panic.

But his face remained expressionless as he looked at her.

"You shaless, ridiculous woman."

’When he gets flustered...’

’...that’s his go-to line.’

’Celeste Grant felt like she had him all figured out.’

’The father of my child is surprisingly innocent.’

’HAHAHAHAHA.’

"Exalted One, I didn’t even say anything. Why are you so worked up? Anyone who didn’t know better would think you’re getting flustered... that you’re interested in ... that you have a guilty conscience."

Javier Sinclair: "Nonsense! I am the great Demonic Sovereign! How could I possibly have such feelings? Interested in you? Don’t flatter yourself."

Javier Sinclair was furious.

"It seems to

you want

to knock your skullcap off and play with it."

The corner of Celeste Grant’s mouth twitched.

’Seriously, what is this man’s obsession with skulls? With a mouth that venomous, even if Yue Lao himself tied a marriage line as thick as a rope for him, he’d manage to snap it himself.’

Celeste Grant just looked at him with a smile, then walked around him, climbed onto the bed, and stared at her son.

She propped herself up on one hand beside her son and leaned down to kiss him. "My treasure, Mommy missed you so much."

She hadn’t held her son in almost half a month.

"Kisses for my baby boy~"

She reached out and gently stroked his head.

’Perhaps all mothers feel the sa way she does. Unless, of course, there are parents who truly don’t love their children.’

Javier Sinclair turned slightly, his gaze falling on Celeste Grant on the bed.

’Even he had never imagined a woman could climb into his bed without being thrown out. No, that’s not right—other won couldn’t even get near his bed.’

’She was the exception.’

Just then, Celeste Grant, who had been watching her sleeping son, raised her eyes to look at Javier Sinclair sitting by the bed. She gave a faint smile and said, "Thank you for your hard work, Exalted One. I’ll be taking our son now."

As she spoke, she reached out, picked up her son, and prepared to leave. "Alright, we’re off! Here’s a little heart for you."

’Seeing that her son was well taken care of by him, even sleeping in his arms, she was truly grateful.’

’She wouldn’t be at ease leaving her son with an outsider, but with him, she felt completely secure.’

Javier Sinclair sneered.

’So I’m just the babysitter? Now that she doesn’t need , it’s all about the son.’

"After half a month, our son looks like he’s grown a lot."

Javier Sinclair glanced at the boy and said, "He’s gotten heavier."

’If the boy didn’t grow while in my care, wouldn’t that be a slap in my face? As if I can’t even raise a single son.’

Javier Sinclair said coolly, "It’s late. If you carry him out like that, the kid will wake up. Forget it, just sleep here."

Celeste Grant, who was in the middle of getting off the bed with her son, froze and looked at him in astonishnt. "You want

to sleep with you?"

"You’re overthinking it." Javier Sinclair shot her a cold glance, his face stern. "I’m doing it for the kid. I have no such intentions toward you."

Celeste Grant glanced at him.

"Alright. So it’s for the child."

Javier Sinclair said coldly,

"Otherwise, what makes you think you could sleep in my bed?"

Celeste Grant shot him a look.

"It’s not like I haven’t before."

’Half a month ago, it was Javier Sinclair who carried

to his room. He even pinned

down and kissed

again and again. Even though nothing else happened, I’ve already slept in this bed.’

Celeste Grant continued, courting death once more, "The Exalted One hasn’t forgotten, has he?"

Javier Sinclair: "Shut up. You talk too much."

’There’s a saying that really makes sense: as long as I’m not the one who’s embarrassed, soone else will be.’

"I’ll just take our son back to my room."

Just as she was speaking, the child in her arms opened his eyes. Seeing him awake, Celeste Grant smiled at him. "Baby, did you miss ?"

"Waaah... Mommy, you’re back!"
