Chapter 50: Chapter 48: Making Money, Raking It In, Filling Sacks with Cash
The Bloodfiend Den brand of smartphones officially went on sale today.
The Bloodfiend Den had made such a huge commotion before that the entire Cultivation World knew about it. Now, all eyes were on them as they prepared to launch the smartphones they had refined.
However, most were skeptical, and a large portion were just there for the spectacle.
「This day.」
Across all of the Bloodfiend Den’s comrcial properties, from the heart of the Demonic Sects’ territory to the lands of the Immortal Sects, every shop was fully stocked at the sa ti, just waiting for sales to begin.
This even included the Cities of Cultivators under Immortal Sect jurisdiction, where there were no Demonic Sect shops. It didn’t matter that they had no comrcial properties there; Celeste Grant had implented Plan B. She dispatched high-level disciples from the Bloodfiend Den to set up stalls all over the cities, or even outside the city walls along the paths every Cultivator had to travel.
In a Cultivation World with Storage Rings, setting up a stall was quite convenient.
Of course, that wasn’t all. Before business began, the person in charge of each city brought out a mory Stone and projected it into the sky, allowing Celeste Grant to make an appearance.
Then, as long as one wasn’t blind, they could see the large projected screen in the sky, and the person in the projection.
Passersby stopped and looked up, all with curious expressions.
"Who is she?"
Was there truly such a beautiful woman in the Cultivation World? The woman in the image wore a wide-sleeved, aqua-blue embroidered gown, her hair elegantly pinned with a Cloud Hairpin.
She sat in a Taishi Chair, holding a smartphone in her hand, her gaze directed at the audience as she smiled gently.
Several Demon Cultivators stood beside her, one of whom so people even recognized. That person was the Left Protector who served The Archfiend. He was currently slicing fruit for her.
Seeing all these n standing while this woman sat, the crowd began to speculate about her identity.
So people huddled together, whispering.
"This woman... couldn’t be The Archfiend’s wife, could she?"
"I heard before that the Blood-Venerate of the Demonic Sects, Javier Sinclair, has always had a wife and child, but he’s hidden them so well that no one has ever found them."
"Do you think that woman is being forced by the Demon Cultivators?"
"Who would be so blind as to fall for that Archfiend?"
"It doesn’t look like she’s being forced to . Look at what she’s wearing. That hair ornant is a Defensive Magical Artifact, and that’s a Vestnt robe. They must be worth no less than one hundred thousand Spirit Stones."
A female cultivator looked at Celeste Grant, then down at her own cheap clothes. She glanced at her Taoist Companion beside her and was instantly filled with envy.
To be honest, even the male Cultivators felt her attire was an incredible display of wealth. Even if they were to find a Taoist Companion, they would never be willing to spend so much money on a woman. This was especially true for the notoriously poor Sword Cultivators.
Just as the crowd was buzzing with curiosity and whispers, the woman’s voice ca from the screen above.
"Good morning to all you fellow Cultivators watching on the mory Stone screens. Whether you’re a standard Cultivator or a Demon Cultivator, I’m delighted to et you all on this important day. I am Celeste Grant, the lead developer of this smartphone, and it’s a pleasure to et you."
"Today marks the official launch and sale of the Bloodfiend Den Cultivation Smartphone, version 1.0. Once we open for business shortly, you’ll all be able to go and buy one."
"As we’ve advertised over the past few days, this smartphone is considered one of our Bloodfiend Den’s top-grade magic tools. It’s for making friends, chatting, and even communicating face-to-face over thousands of miles, seeing the other person through the phone."
At this point, she smiled and continued, "With just one smartphone, no matter where you are or what danger you encounter—even if you’re inside a Secret Realm—you can use it to contact your family and friends to co rescue you. Furthermore, the phone is activated and authenticated with your blood. So, if you encounter danger or die unexpectedly while you’re out, your family’s phones will issue a warning, letting your loved ones know your status imdiately."
"Our smartphone is convenient, fast, and practical—and most importantly, it’s not expensive. Won’t you really buy one and give it a try?"
"Friends watching the screen, if you’re worried about your children when they go out, buy it. If you’re worried about not being able to contact your parents at ho, buy it. If you want to be able to contact your friends at any mont, you should still buy it. In short, just buy it!"
"Now, let
have a heart-to-heart with you all. Before developing this phone, my thinking was simple. Traditional Sound Transmission Jade Slips are exorbitant—even the most common ones cost two thousand Spirit Stones. anwhile, most people in the Cultivation World work painstakingly on missions, risking their lives, and are lucky to have two or three hundred Spirit Stones to their na."
"Those with high Cultivation can use Magic to send ssages or use paper cranes. But how many people truly have such profound Cultivation? That’s why I had the idea to develop a smartphone—to make your lives more convenient. Fortunately, I succeeded. You might be thinking, for sothing sold so cheaply, how good can it be?"
"You’ll know how good it is once you try it. You’ll know if it’s real or fake with one test. If you buy it and feel it wasn’t worth it or aren’t satisfied, we promise a full refund. Also, when we do business, it’s all about mutual consent. We’re not forcing any of you to buy one."
"When buying a smartphone, look for the official Bloodfiend Den flagship store. And as we’ve said before: if there are quality issues within three months, we’ll replace it. If it breaks within a year, we’ll repair it for free. But be warned, if you’re looking for trouble by claiming external damage, we are not to be trifled with."
When she said that last sentence, everyone felt a palpable sense of intimidation.
If the Immortal Sects were considered the "white" or righteous powers, then the Demonic Sects were the "black" or underworld powers. Therefore, ordinary people with no backing truly didn’t dare to provoke them lightly.
「In the sky above.」
Celeste Grant spoke her final words.
"Thank you for your support. And finally, I wish you all a pleasant shopping experience."
As she finished speaking, the projection vanished.
「At the sa ti.」
The shops under the Bloodfiend Den’s banner officially began their sales.
The first batch of people scrambling to buy were the disciples of the Bloodfiend Den. They had already heard about the phone’s functions from their fellow disciples and were incredibly envious.
They had prepared their Spirit Stones long ago, just waiting for today. They had even arrived at the sales points early in the morning to wait.
As disciples of the Bloodfiend Den, their own people, they had priority and could even buy them at half price.
The next wave of custors were from the major powers aligned with the Bloodfiend Den.
These people had gotten the news from the family grapevine long ago. So they were also here today to buy phones. Unlike the people from the Immortal Sects who were reluctant to buy things from the Demonic Sects, they were Demon Cultivators themselves and had no such reservations.
They just bought them.
After them ca the vast number of Loose Cultivators, so ordinary Cultivators, and people from the Cultivator Noble Houses.
They couldn’t care less if it was refined by Demon Cultivators or by the Immortal Sects; as long as the product was the real deal, that’s all that mattered.
"Quick, quick, give
a phone!"
"I want the deluxe version! Give
two!"
"Hey brother, up front! Hurry up!"
"Give
five phones. It’s perfect, I can buy one for each of my kids. It’ll be so much more convenient to contact them in the future."
