Chapter 39: Chapter 37: Fluttering Moth, into His Embrace

His expression turned cold. He reached out and grabbed her by the shoulders, Javier Sinclair staring at her with a sharp, deep gaze that radiated a chilling coldness.

"Celeste Grant, you’ve got so nerve."

"Who are they?"

Celeste Grant blinked, then answered with complete honesty. "Hehe, as long as they’re handso, that’s all that matters. Who bothers to rember their nas? After all, I have so many cute guys to pick from every day. It’s only natural I can’t keep track."

She didn’t just choose from cute guys; there were cute girls as well.

Celeste Grant felt a sudden chill and couldn’t help but mutter, "Weird. I feel like my head and my body are about to go their separate ways."

Javier Sinclair’s face was grim.

"Right now, I feel like twisting your head right off."

’Twist my head off?’

Celeste Grant clutched her neck and shook her head. "No, you can’t do that. It would look horrible. I refuse."

"Get off ."

He shoved her away, stood up with a dark expression, and started to leave.

But she grabbed hold of his clothes.

"Where are you going?"

"You’re not allowed to leave."

Javier Sinclair sneered.

"You have so many other guys. Go find them."

Celeste Grant sat down at his feet and hugged his thigh.

"But they’re not real..."

’They’re just people I admire through a screen. It’s completely different.’

’I’m actually still an innocent child.’

Celeste Grant gave his leg a pat.

She rested her head against him.

"Only you are real. I recognize you."

Javier Sinclair seized on the key point.

’Not real?’

However.

"Let go. Where are your hands wandering?"

’When this woman drinks, she gets completely out of line.’

"Do you not want those hands anymore? I can chop them off for you."

"Hey..."

"You’re so an."

"Don’t chop off my hands. I’ll turn to the dark side. And if I go dark, even I’ll be scared of myself. Why aren’t you talking? My head’s a little dizzy. Be a dear and take

back to my room."

Javier Sinclair felt a curse about to bubble up from deep inside him.

"From now on, you’re banned from drinking."

He could feel his fists clenching in anger.

’Calm down.’

’The child needs a mother. If I strangle her, she’ll be gone for good.’

Javier Sinclair wondered if he’d dug up her ancestral graves in a past life for this woman to co and tornt him so.

He reached out, grabbed her, hoisted her onto his shoulder, and vanished on the spot.

The next mont, he reappeared inside her room.

Javier Sinclair strode forward and tossed her onto the bed.

"Just be quiet."

"I’m leaving."

He tossed out the words and prepared to leave.

"You... wait."

Then he saw the woman on the bed scramble up, kneel at the edge, and grab his hand. She pointed at him and declared, "I rember you."

Javier Sinclair: "..."

"Am I supposed to thank you for deigning to rember ?"

He said, taking a step back.

Celeste Grant slipped and nearly face-planted on the floor.

With quick reflexes, Javier Sinclair caught her. But Celeste used his grip to pull herself up and, like a moth drawn to a fla, flung herself into his embrace.

Her arms wrapped around him.

"Hugs."

He lowered his head slightly, his gaze landing on her face, as radiant as a peach blossom. He asked subconsciously, "Do you even know who I am?"

’This woman isn’t so drunk that she’s mistaking

for soone else, is she? I can’t afford that humiliation.’

Celeste Grant reached out to pat his chest, then grinned and said, "I know... you’re The Archfiend, Javier Sinclair. The ultimate villain."

’The ultimate villain?’

Javier Sinclair said nothing.

Celeste Grant continued, "You’re also my son’s biological father. That makes us two grasshoppers tied to the sa string now."

’Why did that sound so weird? Who’s a grasshopper?’

Javier Sinclair’s face was stern.

"You’re the grasshopper."

"Old Demon, you’re not allowed to be an to

anymore. And stop trying to scare

all the ti. I get scared."

"Is that so?"

’He really couldn’t see a single trace of fear in her.’

’Calling him ’Old Demon’... this woman’s audacity was sothing else.’

Celeste Grant continued her monologue.

"Seriously, being nice to

now is an investnt. When I start making money, I’ll give you half." She then shook her head. "No, no, that won’t work. I’d better hold on to your half for you. We still have to raise a child, after all. I hear raising kids is really expensive..."

Javier Sinclair: "..."

He couldn’t help it.

He let out a laugh, born of pure exasperation.

’Even when you’re making empty promises, you’re supposed to at least pretend. She didn’t even bother with the pretense.’

Celeste Grant mumbled on.

Then, she fell asleep, leaning against him.

Javier Sinclair said nothing.

He was incredibly powerful, yet at this mont, he felt like all his Cultivation was useless. A complicated feeling sprouted in his heart.

A strange tingling sensation.

He raised his hand, tempted to slap her awake. But in the end, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Javier Sinclair looked down at the woman nestled in his arms. After a mont of silence, he averted his gaze.

He scooped her up, placed her on the bed, and casually draped a blanket over her.

Watching the Spiritual Energy converge around her, Javier Sinclair frowned slightly.

’Is such a thing even possible? How can her Cultivation increase on its own, without her even trying?’

Celeste Grant’s residence was equipped with a Spirit Gathering Array. When she was in Cultivation, Spiritual Energy would flood into her body.

However...

Javier Sinclair noticed that even when she wasn’t cultivating, a significant amount of Spiritual Energy still flowed into her body.

He reached out to probe her constitution and discovered it was exceptional. Her Cultivation speed was remarkably fast. Even when she wasn’t actively cultivating—even when she was doing nothing at all, just sleeping—her Cultivation would slowly increase.

’Growing flowers on her head was one thing, but increasing her Cultivation in her sleep? This was a first for him.’

’Whatever. It wasn’t important.’

Javier Sinclair turned and left the room.

Celeste Grant slept for three straight days. When she finally woke up, she found that her internal Cultivation had grown. No, more than that—it felt like she was about to have a breakthrough.

"Wait a minute. I just took a nap. How am I already about to have a breakthrough?"

She imdiately sat down cross-legged and began to cultivate.

「At that very mont.」

With her at the epicenter, nature’s spiritual energy surged toward her from every direction. Outside, the sky roiled with wind and clouds.

The disciples outside all noticed the disturbance.

This was Demon Cultivator territory. Most people practiced Demon Techniques, but there were also a few who were disciples of The Demonic Sects or were part of the Second Demon generation. Those whose constitutions were unsuitable for Devil Cultivation practiced standard Cultivation thods instead.

In other words, not everyone who joined The Demonic Sects necessarily practiced Demon Techniques; there were exceptions.

Compared to the night, the Bloodfiend Den was relatively normal during the day. It was only at night that the spectacle of a blood moon hanging in the sky would appear.

At that mont, soone looked in the direction of Celeste Grant’s residence.

"That’s the Lady’s residence."

"The Lady is undergoing Foundation Establishnt."

"Such powerful Spiritual Power! She’s only just reaching Foundation Establishnt, and she’s already causing such a huge disturbance. I thought soone was undergoing Core Formation."

"Definitely not. If it were Core Formation, there would be a Heavenly Tribulation."

In the Cultivation World, ordinary Foundation Establishnt doesn’t trigger a Heavenly Tribulation. A Heavenly Tribulation only appears during the legendary Providence Foundation Establishnt, or when a person burdened with heavy Karma is breaking through.

Otherwise, Heavenly Tribulations only occur when one forms a Golden Core.

"Hey, look! The Spirit Grass is growing!"

"That’s normal. No need to be so dramatic. I heard from the Left Protector that our Lady has a Wood Elent Spirit Root, so this is perfectly normal."

At that mont, Javier Sinclair was also looking in Celeste Grant’s direction.

"This woman... she does have so talent after all."
