Chapter 25: Chapter 23: Seize Her and Slap the Female Lead’s Face

Jocelyn Grant froze, probably not expecting such a direct admission.

"You admit it."

And that voice...

It had sounded so familiar before.

Suddenly, Jocelyn Grant’s gaze shot toward Celeste Grant.

"It’s you... Celeste Grant." She bit out the words through clenched teeth.

"Haha, who else would it be?" Celeste Grant reached up and removed her veil. "How rare. To think you still rember , Jocelyn Grant. I’ve been thinking about you so, so much."

The sight of her made Jocelyn Grant’s forehead throb with pain. That night, she had been bludgeoned, her head covered in blood, and had nearly died. Thankfully, she’d run into Silas, who saved her.

’Damn that Celeste Grant.’

"Celeste Grant, I can’t believe you’re still here."

Celeste Grant replied, "Is that a problem? Who are you to tell

where I can be? Do I need to report my whereabouts to you or sothing?"

Jocelyn Grant was livid.

The mory of that night, of what Celeste Grant had dared to do, made Jocelyn want to kill her by a thousand cuts. Her glare was pure venom.

Then there was that night... The Divine Beast had been right there, but it flew away and vanished without a trace. She had a gut feeling that the Divine Beast, the Vermilion Bird, hadn’t really gone far.

At this thought, she wondered if it had fallen into Celeste Grant’s hands.

"Celeste Grant, did you steal the Vermilion Bird?"

Celeste Grant rolled her eyes, naturally refusing to admit anything. "What Vermilion Bird? I have no idea what you’re talking about. Oh, you an that Divine Beast from Breezewind Town? Didn’t you take it? No way... did you form a pact with the Vermilion Bird and now you’re trying to pin the bla on

because you’re afraid of others trying to steal it? What a wicked heart you have. Too bad everyone else can see right through you."

’That’s right, *this* is how you redirect a disaster.’

The mont the other Cultivators heard this, their gazes fell on her in unison.

’Did she really form a pact with the Divine Beast?’

After the Divine Beast flew away that night, it disappeared without a trace, its aura gone. Soone must have ford a pact with it for that to happen.

Jocelyn Grant’s heart sank. If she had really ford a pact with the Divine Beast, she wouldn’t be here asking about it.

"Nonsense! You knocked

unconscious. How could the Divine Beast possibly be with ?"

As she said this, her face filled with hatred.

That day, she had nearly died at Celeste Grant’s hands. Her own cousin was truly vicious.

’Since she can be so rciless, she can’t bla

for not showing her any rcy.’

"Celeste Grant, you collude with Demon Cultivators to harm your own cousin, and you feel no sha? That night, you tried to kill . If Silas hadn’t saved , I’d be dead already! With such a venomous heart, you’re bound to cause a huge disaster sooner or later. Today, I’ll teach you a lesson on your parents’ behalf!"

Celeste Grant sneered.

"Teach

a lesson on my parents’ behalf? You’re not worthy."

"Why would I try to kill you, of all people? Shouldn’t you look for the reason within yourself? Jocelyn Grant, my parents raised you, yet you and your lover tried to harm . Was I supposed to just sit back and let you? Who’s the real ungrateful wolf here? You’re the one who should be ashad!"

Jocelyn Grant cried, "Celeste Grant, you brought this on yourself! I’ll kill you today!"

Celeste Grant sneered. "Then let’s see who dies first. As it happens, I want you dead, too."

She rembered clearly everything Jocelyn Grant had done to her, not forgetting a single detail.

’I have many fine qualities, but my greatest talent is holding a grudge.’

’And I take revenge at the slightest opportunity.’

"Bitch, go to hell!"

Jocelyn Grant was enraged by her words.

In that mont, she completely forgot the Sect rule about not attacking ordinary people. All she wanted was to run Celeste Grant through and kill her.

Perhaps blinded by rage, she didn’t even notice that Celeste Grant was no longer an ordinary person, but a Cultivator at the First Level of Energy Refining.

Celeste Grant remained seated, not moving a muscle.

’If I didn’t have anyone with , I, a re Cultivator at the First Level of Energy Refining, wouldn’t dare provoke her like this.’

’But I do have people.’

’When you can’t win a fight, you call for backup. Isn’t that what a villainess is supposed to do?’

’Only the heroines, blessed with plot armor, fight one-on-one to show off.’

’Villains like us, we prefer to gang up on people.’

Jocelyn Grant pointed her sword at her and closed the distance in an instant.

But just as the tip of the sword was a ter away from Celeste Grant, a young man in black appeared before her in a flash.

This young man wore a black cloak and a wide-brimd, veiled hat. Over his mouth and nose, he wore a mask that resembled a vicious demon. The mont he appeared, Celeste Grant felt a chilly, ominous wind.

’As expected of a disciple from the Bloodfiend Den. This outfit is sothing else.’

"You dare to touch our Madam? You’re courting death."

The masked young man gathered his cultivation in his hand and sent Jocelyn Grant flying with a single slap. The teahouse doors were blasted to pieces along with her, and Jocelyn Grant crashed onto the ground outside with a loud THUD.

Jocelyn Grant was only at the Foundation Establishnt Stage, while this young man was at the Golden Core Stage. That one casual slap made her spit out a mouthful of blood.

"Celeste Grant, I won’t let you get away with this!"

’I have to say, anyone who can be the heroine is no ordinary person.’

’She’s still not dead. She’s really tough.’

Anyone else would be dead by now, but she could still talk.

Celeste Grant stood up and walked toward the entrance. She stood in the doorway, one hand on her hip, and looked down at Jocelyn Grant on the ground outside.

"My, my, Jocelyn Grant. You look so pathetic."

’Why am I enjoying this so much?’

’It seems coming here, pregnant and all, to find the baby’s father was the right move.’

’The proper conduct of a wicked villainess.’

’I’m going to be a very good wicked villainess.’

She raised her hand and gestured, a gentle smile on her face as she said softly, "Seize her."

"Yes, Madam."

The young man in black walked over, grabbed Jocelyn Grant, and hauled her before Celeste Grant.

"What are you doing? I’m a disciple of the Azure Sky Sect! If you dare lay a hand on , my Sect will not let you go!"

Celeste Grant stepped forward and rolled up her sleeves.

She landed a crisp slap right across her face.

SLAP! SLAP!

"So what if I hit you?"

SLAP! SLAP!

"Do I need to pick a special occasion to hit you? Jocelyn Grant, you never thought you’d end up in my hands, did you? When you threw

to those Evil Cultivators, you never imagined this day would co, did you?"

SLAP! SLAP! SLAP! Celeste Grant lost count of how many tis she slapped her, stopping only when Jocelyn’s face was swollen. For the last two slaps, she gathered her Spiritual Power, and with a final CRACK, blood spurted from Jocelyn’s mouth.

’Slapping a Foundation Establishnt Stage cultivator is tough for soone in the Qi Refinent Realm. Her face is so thick, my hand hurts.’

’I need to focus on my Cultivation from now on.’

"Jocelyn!"

Suddenly, soone cried out in alarm.

The next mont, a figure appeared out of thin air, snatched Jocelyn Grant away, and reappeared several ters away.

’Who’s this now?’

’The heroine always has a man to save her, no matter what.’

Celeste Grant got a clear look. The newcor was a remarkably handso young man with black hair, dressed in green robes. He looked to be in his early twenties and had a scholarly air about him. He had the look of a ’little puppy.’

’I’ve gotta say, the heroine has good taste.’

"Joce, are you okay?"

"Silas, you’re finally here."

Seeing his attire and hearing him call her "Joce," Celeste Grant knew exactly who he was.
