Chapter 121: Chapter 119: How About This Lord Kneels on a Washboard for You?

「Later that evening.」

Aaron Sinclair returned.

"Mom, I’m ho."

"Mother!"

"Mother, where are you?"

The first thing he did upon returning was look for his dear mother.

Javier Sinclair stood not far away, watching him dart all over the place before finally reaching out and grabbing him by the collar.

"Are you blind to my existence? You co ho and imdiately start looking for your mother."

Aaron Sinclair stopped in his tracks.

"Dad, I saw you. But where’s Mother? I don’t see her anywhere."

Javier Sinclair: "..."

’Am I not a person?’

A sudden thought occurred to Aaron Sinclair, and he nudged his father’s arm with his elbow. "Heh heh, Dad, you aren’t jealous, are you? Because I didn’t call for you first."

Javier Sinclair sneered. "Do I look like I would be?"

Aaron Sinclair retorted, "As if I don’t know you. Dad, your mouth is the toughest thing about you."

"Heh! I see your wings have grown in. Getting ready to fly the coop, are we?"

Javier Sinclair stretched out his hand, and a greatsword materialized in his grasp. He imdiately started chasing his son, brandishing the weapon.

"Spare the rod for three days, and you’ll be tearing the roof down."

And so, father and son began to fight right there in the corridor.

Of course, Javier Sinclair suppressed his Cultivation to the Foundation Establishnt Stage, so he showed his son no rcy.

The pair traded blows, their figures darting across the corridor, over the rooftops, and through the courtyard.

In the end, Javier Sinclair landed a kick on his son’s rear, sending him flying into a nearby tree where he was left dangling.

"Can’t you pick a different move? I have my dignity to think about, you know? You hang

in a tree every single ti."

Hanging in the tree, completely demoralized, Aaron Sinclair let his arms dangle limply in the air. "Dad," he asked, "when will I ever be able to beat you?"

Javier Sinclair dismissed his sword. "Keep up your Cultivation. With your current level, you wouldn’t be able to beat anyone out there. You’re always clinging to your mother like you haven’t been weaned yet. Aren’t you ashad?"

Aaron Sinclair shot him a sideways glance. "You’re just jealous. It’s a classic case of sour grapes. You want to be all lovey-dovey with Mom too, but you just keep putting on that tough-guy act."

Of course, Javier Sinclair would never admit it.

"You think I’m like you, unable to leave that woman’s side? Heh! A woman will never be an obstacle on my path of Cultivation."

"Heh heh, Dad, you might want to look behind you."

Aaron Sinclair had a look on his face that scread, *You’re so dead*. His gaze shifted to the space behind his father. "Why don’t you turn around and repeat what you just said?"

’He did it on purpose. The little brat did it on purpose.’

’What terrible deeds did I commit? Did I desecrate too many ancestral graves to deserve this instant karma?’

Javier Sinclair: "..."

He glanced to the side and saw Celeste Grant standing not far away.

She was standing on the steps, arms crossed, watching him with an unhurried, amused expression. A gentle breeze lifted the hem of her aqua-blue dress.

’She looks like such a gentle woman.’

’So why am I a little scared?’

’Impossible! I am Javier Sinclair, the Archfiend! The renowned Blood-Venerate of the number one faction in the Demonic Sects! Who have I ever feared?’

"Ahem, you’re here."

The mont he spoke, he felt like his voice had dropped by half its usual volu.

Hanging from the tree, Aaron Sinclair couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

"Dad, show so backbone! Or should I go get a washboard for you?"

Standing nearby, the corner of Celeste Grant’s mouth twitched.

’Are this father and son duo trying to be codians?’

She walked over and looked at the two of them.

"What are you two doing?"

As she spoke, Celeste Grant tilted her head up to look at her son dangling from the branch. "Aren’t you going to co down? What are you doing hanging up there?"

Aaron Sinclair smiled faintly.

"It’s cooler up here."

Javier Sinclair nodded. "The brat likes to hang up there to practice his Cultivation. Just ignore him."

Celeste Grant chuckled softly.

Just then, Javier Sinclair’s gaze swept over to Celeste Grant. "Didn’t you go to the night market this afternoon? You’re back already?"

As he moved to her side, Celeste Grant gave him a look that was not quite a smile. "If I hadn’t co back, how would I have heard The Exalted One’s true thoughts? Alas, it seems I was being sentintal. So, in The Exalted One’s heart, I’m just a burden hindering your Cultivation."

"My apologies! I’m a bother. I’ll just be on my way."

Celeste Grant raised a hand to cover her face as if she were weeping, her tone pitiful.

Javier Sinclair panicked.

’She’s not actually crying, is she?’

"That’s not what I ant. I was just talking nonsense earlier."

"Celeste Grant, you’re not overthinking things, are you?"

At that mont, from his perch in the tree, Aaron Sinclair chid in fearlessly, "Dad, you made Mom cry, you heartless man."

Celeste Grant let out a low, whimpering sound.

Aaron Sinclair then produced a washboard from out of nowhere. "Dad, I don’t have much to give you, but I think you could really use a washboard right about now."

Javier Sinclair froze as the washboard landed in his arms.

’A washboard this big? Don’t I have my dignity to think about?’

"Dad, dignity is worthless. Your wife is what’s important."

「In that mont.」

He felt an overwhelming urge to beat his son.

Javier Sinclair glanced up into the tree. With a wave of his hand, his son let out a cry of "AHH!" as he fell from the branches and landed squarely on his behind.

"Owww, that hurts! You really are my dear old dad."

Javier Sinclair looked at the washboard in his hands.

Then he looked at the woman who had already turned her back to him, her shoulders shaking.

’This...’

’Are won’s hearts really this sensitive? I truly didn’t an it.’ "I was just speaking thoughtlessly just now. Don’t overthink it."

"Hey, did you hear ?"

Seeing that she wasn’t responding, he looked down at the washboard.

’Maybe I should just kneel on it.’

’Anyway, there are no outsiders here. Even if word got out, no one would know for sure.’

"You’re crying... How about I kneel for you?"

The last ti he’d seen her cry was when she was about to give birth. ’She couldn’t be crying just because of a single sentence, could she?’

At that mont, Celeste Grant, her back still to him, was struggling to hold back her laughter. Her hand was pressed to her forehead, and her shoulders trembled with suppressed mirth.

’This is hilarious!’

’It’s truly unbelievable.’

’What did he just say? That he’d kneel for ?’

’BWAHAHAHA! Are those really words the Archfiend would say?’

’This man is so silly. He doesn’t know the old saying, "A woman’s words are masterfully deceptive." But seeing him all flustered despite his prideful, stubborn act... teasing him like this is actually quite fun.’

A hand reached out and grabbed her shoulder. He spun Celeste Grant around to face him. "I didn’t even say anything that bad. What are you crying about?"

"BWAHAHAHA..."

Celeste Grant finally couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.

"You’re killing ! Are you that silly? As if I don’t know what you’re really like. Do I look like the type to burst into tears over a single sentence? Haha, but seeing you get so worked up does make

rather happy," she said, reaching out to stroke his face.

Aaron Sinclair sidled up to them.

"Dad, Mom told

that the prettier a woman is, the more deceitful she is."

Javier Sinclair: "..."

He gritted his teeth and snapped the washboard in half with his bare hands. He glared at Celeste Grant. "You woman... you’re asking for a lesson."

He tossed aside the broken washboard, bent down, hooked an arm under her legs, and slung her over his shoulder. In a flash, he was gone.

Draped over his shoulder, Celeste Grant was mortified. Their son was still watching!

"Put

down!"

"Shut up!"
