Chapter 106: Chapter 104: Young Master, How About You Reconsider? (Part 1)

At that thought, her gaze fell on her younger brother and son.

Celeste Grant reached out and stroked their heads. "You two must cultivate diligently in the future." ’After all, only by becoming strong can I keep others from coveting their Spirit Roots and trying to steal them.’

As long as the heroine and her n weren’t completely wiped out, Celeste Grant wouldn’t lower her guard. ’After all, they can’t hurt anyone if they’re dead.’

Charlie Grant nodded. "I understand, Sister."

Aaron Sinclair said, "Mother, we’ll cultivate diligently."

"Good. You’re so well-behaved."

As she spoke, she reached out and gently pinched each of their cheeks.

Her enlightennt this ti had lasted quite a while.

’Co to think of it, it’s been almost seven years! Just a little over a month shy. So, has that Jocelyn Grant, the one Nerida tossed to the ends of the earth, made it back to her Sect yet?’

’Speaking of which, I left a ’big surprise’ for Jocelyn Grant back at the Azure Sky Sect. She ought to be quite famous there by now. And her paramour, Liam Yardley... the look on his face when he saw the footage of her and Morgan Quinn rolling around together must have been priceless.’

’Hahaha, and they call that true love?’

’These people all see Jocelyn Grant through rose-tinted glasses. Let’s see if they can still love her once those glasses shatter. If they can, I’ll have to hand it to them.’

To Celeste Grant, a true relationship was between two people and two people only. It ant mutual respect and holding hands in youth, and still walking side-by-side in old age.

So what kind of relationship could it be, with one man and several won, or one woman and several n, all mixed up together? To put it bluntly, it’s just lust at first sight—an inability to control their base desires. At worst, it’s just a group free-for-all.

’Especially in those male-oriented novels she used to read. The story would start with the hero going through hell and back to resurrect his wife, which was quite touching. But the ending would be the hero showing up with a dozen other female soulmates to revive her, only to say, "We can finally all be together again."’

’Hahaha, every ti she ca across a plot like that, Celeste Grant found it utterly absurd. That poor, innocent wife, stuck with such a scumbag. She must be rolling in her grave.’

Thinking of Jocelyn Grant...

Celeste Grant’s gaze shifted to her parents.

She asked,

"Mom, Dad, while I was in seclusion all these years, have you heard any news about Jocelyn Grant?"

Upon hearing this, her mother imdiately told Celeste Grant what she knew. "Her? That wretched girl. After you dug out her Spirit Root, she disappeared without a trace. But I have heard a few things about her. I heard that everyone in her Sect, from top to bottom, knows she was sleeping around. Not only that, but I also heard she had triplets with so fat, ugly man and is raising them sowhere in secret. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but the way people describe it, it sounds so convincing. I’d say it’s probably true."

At this, both Mr. and Mrs. Grant looked completely baffled. Although Jocelyn Grant wasn’t their biological child, they had raised the two girls together. How on earth did Jocelyn Grant turn out so twisted?!

Celeste Grant was speechless.

Celeste Grant fell silent at her mother’s words.

’Triplets???’

’Where did triplets co from?’

’From Morgan Quinn?’

’Of course not.’

’So it’s just a rumor. But then again, a lie told often enough becos the truth.’

’Although, according to the original novel’s plot, she was supposed to have three children with Morgan Quinn. Not this ti, though. Because Morgan Quinn beca a short, fat slob, both ugly and overweight, Jocelyn Grant herself killed their budding romance before it could even start. And she certainly didn’t get pregnant with his child.’

’Then there was Magnus Wynn, that elder from the True Form Sect who Javier Sinclair blew to smithereens. According to the plot, Jocelyn Grant was supposed to bear him two children ten years from now, and he would have treasured them dearly. As for the present, that storyline ended before it even started. Since he, one of the male leads, is already dead, there certainly won’t be any children.’

Her mother continued to gossip, all she was missing was a handful of sunflower seeds.

She went on, "And another thing, that Jocelyn Grant is a real piece of work. She abandoned her sickly son and never once went back to see him. That boy of hers has nearly died several tis over the years. A couple of years ago, that Liam Yardley fellow even went into a Secret Realm to find dicine for him, just barely managing to keep him alive. But I hear the boy is nothing but skin and bones now; he probably doesn’t have much ti left."

Her father leaned in. "I heard about that too. That Liam Yardley, the ungrateful bastard, is looking for her everywhere. Jocelyn Grant hasn’t shown her face in years. I’m guessing she’s probably dead, isn’t she?"

After all, her Cultivation was crippled and her Spirit Root was dug out. Who knows where that Left Protector threw her.

Mr. Grant guessed that she was likely already dead.

Javier Sinclair and Celeste Grant exchanged a look.

’Dead?’

’Impossible!’

’She’s the heroine, blessed by fate’s favor—a cockroach that just won’t die. If she were that easy to kill, I wouldn’t have had to try to kill her again and again, only to fail every single ti.’

Javier Sinclair said calmly, "If you want to know, I can have my n look into it."

Celeste Grant shook her head slightly. "Don’t worry about it." ’She’ll turn up when the ti is right.’

’As the story’s heroine, if she doesn’t want to be found, you won’t find her, no matter who you send.’

After all that talk...

Celeste Grant latched onto one key point.

’Liam Yardley’s son is dying, which ans he must be more desperate than anyone.’

’All these years have passed and his son still isn’t better. That proves it: an ordinary Spirit Root won’t work for him. Otherwise, he would have found a replacent long ago.’

’In other words, his so-called Forbidden Technique can’t work with just any Spirit Root. I’m guessing it might require an Ice Spirit Root, or perhaps a top-grade spiritual root, or even a Top-grade Spirit Root to be effective.’

’Just because our family has one or two people with an Ice Spirit Root doesn’t make them common. In fact, in The Cultivation World, Ice Spirit Roots are exceedingly rare, especially Top Grade Ice Spirit Roots. You’d be hard-pressed to find more than a few in the entire realm.’

’And as for a Top-grade Ice Spirit Root, so far, the only person I know who possesses one is my son. I’ve never encountered another.’

’So... ’

’If Liam Yardley wants to save his son, he’ll pin his hopes on my son, or...’

She glanced at her son, then shifted her gaze to her younger brother.

’No matter which one.’

’I won’t allow it.’

’Liam Yardley.’

’He’s the next one I’ll kill!’

At this thought, Celeste Grant smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. She had never forgotten their old feud, and she wanted to be the one to deal with him personally.

"Wow, My Lady, you’re awake!"

Soone walked in.

It was Nerida.

Celeste Grant waved a greeting.

"Oh, Nerida, you’re as beautiful as ever. You haven’t changed a bit."

"I love hearing the honest truth! But My Lady, it’s so wonderful that you’re awake. I’ll go make arrangents for us at the Bloodfiend Den to have a proper celebration tonight."

Aaron Sinclair waved his hand happily.

"Aunt Nerida, on such a happy occasion, how about I provide the disciples with free Elixir Pills so everyone can celebrate together?"
