Qiao Jing shrugged, casually saying, “It’s not as bad as a fire burning my eyebrows. At worst, I just won’t wear the necklace, right?”
To her, whether or not she wore the necklace was actually not that important.
It’s certainly better to wear it, but not wearing it doesn’t seem to matter much!
However, Ni Yue and Lin Xiuxiang didn’t think the sa way.
Hearing Qiao Jing speak so nonchalantly, the two beca even more uneasy.
“How can that be? The necklace is part of your ensemble today. Without it, your outfit would have a flaw and wouldn’t be perfect!”
As soon as Lin Xiuxiang finished speaking, Ni Yue added, “Exactly, Xiao Jingjing, today is your wedding day, such an important mont; how can we leave any regrets?”
At this point, Ni Yue paused, and when she spoke again, her tone was unusually firm, “No! We must find the necklace. We have to let Xiao Jingjing marry perfectly!”

Then, Lin Xiuxiang said to Ni Yue, “You stay here with Qiao Jing, I’ll go get it and be back shortly.”
Ni Yue glanced at Lin Xiuxiang’s already showing belly, suggesting, “Let go instead. You’re pregnant, and it would be exhausting to run back and forth.”
“No need, no need, I’ll go.”
Lin Xiuxiang said as she turned and walked toward the door, giving Ni Yue no chance to speak further.
Watching the dressing room door open and close, Ni Yue chuckled, “Didn’t expect Xiao Xiangxiang to be so stubborn.”
Qiao Jing just smiled and didn’t say anything.
After leaving the dressing room, Lin Xiuxiang walked down the corridor.
As she walked a short distance, she heard footsteps approaching from behind.
Judging by the sound, they were heavy, clearly n’s footsteps, and not just one, but two people!
Lin Xiuxiang frowned, suddenly having a bad feeling.
When she ca out just now, she looked around to determine the direction but didn’t see anyone else.
Why were there n coming from behind now?
Could it be soone was hiding at the corner or in the shadows?
If so, what is their intention?
For a mont, Lin Xiuxiang’s mind raced. Just as she turned to see who was following her, the footsteps were already behind her.
Before Lin Xiuxiang could turn her head, sothing struck her neck. A dull pain ca, but before it spread to her limbs, everything went dark as she fell into unconsciousness.
But just as she was about to hit the ground, a man in a baseball cap caught her.
The man who had knocked Lin Xiuxiang out laughed derisively, “Why bother? Bet you fancy her, huh?”
The man with the cap rolled his eyes, “Stop talking nonsense; I’m just worried if she falls too hard, it’ll alert Qiao Jing and others, ruining our plan!”
“Fine, fine, whatever you say. Let’s get rid of this woman and move on to the next step.”
“Just toss her into the nearby flower bed. She won’t co to for a while anyway.”
“Good idea!”
With that, the two carried the unconscious Lin Xiuxiang to the flower bed and left her there, then dusted off their hands and walked away.
In the dressing room, Qiao Jing grew worried when Lin Xiuxiang hadn’t returned for so long.
Suddenly, she stood up from the vanity.
Ni Yue glanced at her, puzzled, and asked, “Xiao Jingjing, what’s wrong?”
Qiao Jing frowned slightly, her tone deepened, “It’s been fifteen minutes, and Xiuxiang hasn’t returned. I’m a bit uneasy; I’ll go check.”
Getting a necklace shouldn’t take so long!
Ni Yue thought for a mont, speculating, “With so many people attending today, maybe Xiao Xiangxiang ran into soone she knew and stopped to chat, which delayed her?”
She thought, amidst so many eyes at the wedding, nothing should go wrong.
“I don’t know.” Qiao Jing shook her head, pursing her lips, “Whatever the case, it’s better to take a look and ease my mind.”
With that, she stepped towards the door.
Seeing Qiao Jing about to reach the door, Ni Yue quickly blocked her.
“Xiao Jingjing, don’t forget you’re the bride. The bride only appears when the ceremony starts; it’s not convenient for you to go out now. I’ll go instead.”
Without waiting for Qiao Jing to respond, Ni Yue opened the door and stepped out, making sure to close it behind her.
Qiao Jing looked at the closed door and could only return to her seat.
However, she had barely sat down for two minutes when there was a knock on the door.
Upon hearing it, Qiao Jing instinctively thought it was Ni Yue and Lin Xiuxiang returning, feeling a bit puzzled.
Why did they co back so quickly?
Could Ni Yue have run into Lin Xiuxiang as soon as she went out?
Though odd, Qiao Jing didn’t think much of it and quickly got up to open the door.
Unexpectedly, as the door opened, a sudden spray ca straight at her, entering her nose.
Although she imdiately held her breath and covered her nose and mouth while quickly stepping back several paces, she still inevitably inhaled so unknown gas.
From the sll of the gas, Qiao Jing quickly discerned it contained a drug.

Realizing this, Qiao Jing frowned, her expression darkening, but inwardly she coldly laughed.

She raised her eyes and saw the detestable faces of Zhan Nan and Zhan Bei.
Zhan Bei wore a black cap, while Zhan Nan smiled maliciously.
After knocking Lin Xiuxiang out, they waited nearby for Qiao Jing to erge, surprised to see Ni Yue co instead.
But it worked out well; with Ni Yue gone, they could still go after Qiao Jing!
“Sister-in-law, this is a wedding gift we brothers prepared especially for you. How about it? Isn’t it a surprise?”
Zhan Nan grinned wickedly as he spoke, stepping closer to Qiao Jing with each word.
