“Oh, there are many ladies like you who can play the piano. Do you have any achievents? Have you perford at the Vienna Concert Hall? Or is it just a hobby? If it’s the latter, it only proves that you were born into a good situation where your family is willing to pay for your interests to be nurtured.”
The more Qiao Jing spoke, the more Zhan Nanqing found herself without a response.
“Is there anything else? I’m talking about tangible achievents, let’s not bring hobbies like chess or painting into this,” Qiao Jing added.
Just like Qiao Jing had said, Zhan Nanqing, left with her mouth agape, had no real achievents to speak of.
Zhan Yao looked at the trophy, his gaze falling on Qiao Jing as he pondered the words Zhan Qipei had spoken.
Could his daughter-in-law be more than what she appeared to be on the surface? Considering his father’s stature and how much he doted on Qipei, it didn’t make sense he would choose soone with nothing to offer for his son.
He had always found it odd, but hadn’t given it much thought until now. Combining all these factors, he seed to understand a bit more.
Qiao Jing did have so abilities, not as incapable as the rumors suggested.
Actually, he didn’t really care what his daughter-in-law was like, as long as she wasn’t morally corrupt; after all, she wasn’t his wife.
With that issue settled, the Zhan Family returned to Deep Garden, while Qiao Jing and Zhan Qipei went back to Nantai Apartnt.
“What exactly is your relationship with Professor Qiao?” Zhan Qipei, holding a cup of tea, half-squinted his narrow eyes and asked Qiao Jing.
Qiao Jing put down the trophy and turned back to look at Zhan Qipei.

After these words, Qiao Jing and Zhan Qipei locked eyes with each other.
A mont later, Zhan Qipei curled his lips into a smile.
Qiao Jing found Zhan Qipei’s reaction sowhat incomprehensible.
“I’m pleased you talked to like this instead of concocting so excuse to brush off.”
So this was what made him happy?
Qiao Jing also smiled a little, finding this man’s way of thinking sotis truly baffling.
“As for the car accident, you saved , I will pay back that favor.”
Zhan Qipei stood up, “As you wish.”
After dropping that sentence, Zhan Qipei returned to his own room and closed the door.
The next morning, when Zhan Qipei got up, he found Qiao Jing busy on the balcony with sothing.

“Are you gardening?”
“Growing vegetables.”

“Stop gardening. By the ti these vegetables grow, we’ll have starved. Use this money to buy groceries, and keep the rest for yourself.”

“I’m not growing these vegetables to eat.”
“For decoration?” Zhan Qipei hardly believed it.
Qiao Jing didn’t bother explaining, refunding the money back to Zhan Qipei.
“It’s just money for als; I’m not lacking any.”

“So you think I can’t provide for you?”
