Chapter 741: Chapter 730: Qiao Jing Got Angry
Frank’s footsteps halted imdiately, and he bit his teeth with his back to Qiao Jing. His face was filled with resentnt, yet there was also a naturally arising awe from the bottom of his heart.
The complex emotions made him dare not refute Qiao Jing’s words, forcing himself to turn around with a strained smile on his face.
“Professor Qiao, is there anything else?”
Although he felt that Qiao Jing making him lose face was detestable, he was still very clear about the gap in their statuses.
Otherwise, he would not have been so overly polite.
Qiao Jing’s gaze landed on Frank’s pocket, and he slightly squinted his phoenix eyes.
“Did you say you could take away my belongings just like that?”
Actually, she could do without the phone, especially after this incident, John and his team wouldn’t be so easy to deal with anymore. Besides, because of the surveillance, taking her phone was inevitable sooner or later.
But the things that belonged to her were not to be tampered with by just anyone.
When Frank t Qiao Jing’s gaze, sharp as ice blades, he couldn’t help but shudder inside, a sense of fear spontaneously arising.
He quietly pinched the palm of his hand to snap out of it and responded to Qiao Jing’s question.
“Professor Qiao, I didn’t want to take your phone away either, but I was worried it might affect your research, so I took it. Moreover, it’s only temporary, I will return it to you after a while.”
Qiao Jing slightly narrowed her dark phoenix eyes, her red lips parted slightly, her words cold as ice.
“I will say it one more ti, return my phone.”
Watching Qiao Jing’s expressionless face gave Frank an imposing sensation, making one involuntarily feel a chill down their spine, goosebumps erupting.
“This—” Frank was terribly embarrassed and didn’t know what to do for a mont.
Just then, Qiao Jing’s cold voice sounded again.
“Fine, you can take my phone away.”
Hearing Qiao Jing say this, Frank thought she had compromised and he imdiately felt relieved.
However—
Before he had completely relaxed, he heard Qiao Jing’s cold voice again.
“I will not proceed with the experints.”
Frank looked at Qiao Jing, then at the phone in his hand, his eyebrows so furrowed they could crush a fly.
After much hesitation, he finally decided to return the phone to Qiao Jing.
They were on an island now, and without a boat, Qiao Jing couldn’t leave.
Moreover, there was a signal jamr in the laboratory, so even if Qiao Jing had her phone, it wouldn’t be of much use.
It was also for this reason that they had chosen not to confiscate her phone after bringing her to the island.
Frank, thinking the matter was settled as Qiao Jing said nothing more, greeted and left the laboratory directly.
Just before closing the door, he didn’t forget to remind her once more.
“Also, Professor Qiao, please try to complete the research as soon as possible.”
Right now, their country’s agricultural level was quite behind; if Qiao Jing could help them make progress, it would certainly be a great advance!
Qiao Jing still ignored Frank, continuing to quietly eat her fruit.
Seeing this, Frank didn’t dare say more, fearful of angering Qiao Jing to the point where she wouldn’t conduct the experints at all.
He could only help Qiao Jing close the door.
Qiao Jing watched the tightly shut door, her eyes darkening, and walked straight into the bathroom to wash up.
After washing up, she lay down on the bed, pulled up the blanket, closed her eyes, and prepared to sleep.
This scene was also fully captured by John, who was vigilantly watching the surveillance in the control room.
He glanced at the ti, noticing it was only nine o’clock, and it seed that Qiao Jing had no intention at all of helping them with the research.
At this ti, Frank also returned to the control room, just about to report the situation with the phone to John, when he saw Qiao Jing on the bed preparing to sleep.
He paused, then confusedly said,
“Mr. John, I assure you that I have already instructed Professor Qiao to complete the research as soon as possible. However, I didn’t expect that at this ti, Professor Qiao is still not working on the research and is preparing to sleep directly instead.”
John’s gaze firmly fixed on the Qiao Jing who was tightly covered with the blanket on the bed, he asked:
“What’s the situation with Professor Qiao’s mobile phone?”
Frank imdiately reported truthfully:
“There’s no record of Professor Qiao sending out any ssages, but if she is Q, she could totally do that.”
Upon hearing Frank’s words, John’s frown deepened so much it could have killed a fly.
He stared at Qiao Jing, who was sleeping leisurely on the screen, and suddenly threw the remote on the table, making a loud “bang!”
“Haven’t I spoken kindly enough?! Why on earth won’t Professor Qiao agree to help us with the research?”
Frank imdiately responded:
“Mr. John, please, don’t be angry.”
John rashly smashed everything on the table to the ground.
“Why can’t she help us with the research? Moreover, given the current situation, she has no other choice but to assist us!”
He had spoken so nicely, but Qiao Jing still stubbornly refused to help with the research.
What could he do?!
Frank was also distressed by this matter, and both n fell into deep thought.
Just then, an idea occurred to him.
“Mr. John, I have thought of a way to get Qiao Jing to start experinting.”
Upon hearing this, John turned to look at Frank.
“What thod? Regardless of the situation, we must persuade Professor Qiao to conduct the experint. Otherwise, our country might face a severe food crisis!”
Since speaking nicely didn’t work, he had no choice but to try a more forceful approach.
He knew that another country, opposed to theirs, was also researching wheat recently, so he had to get these findings before the other country did.
Frank bent down, moved closer to John, and whispered a few words.
After hearing what Frank had to say, John’s tightly knit brows finally relaxed, and a smile appeared on his face.
“Then let’s do it, right now, imdiately, co with to the lab!”
Frank stood up at once and went with John to the laboratory where Qiao Jing was.
When they opened the door, they found that Qiao Jing wasn’t asleep at all and was looking directly at them.
This also confird the suspicion that Qiao Jing really didn’t want to help them with the experints.
Qiao Jing, sensing soone opening the door, instantly beca alert, and had looked towards the door even before they entered.
Seeing that it was John and Frank coming in again, she quickly walked over to a couch and sat down.
The mont the door opened, their eyes t, and then ca a long, drawn-out silence.
Finally, it was Qiao Jing who broke the deadlock.
“Did you two co to see for a reason?”
She had thought she could finally get so rest and was about to go to bed, but instead, they had run over again.
Frank was the first to respond to Qiao Jing’s question.
“Professor Qiao, we just have sothing, and would like to discuss it with you—”
He was interrupted by John raising his hand.
Frank imdiately closed his mouth.
John sat opposite Qiao Jing, his gaze fixed on the lab table, where things were almost untouched, except for sothing they tampered with, which he didn’t know.
However, that wasn’t the point. The real issue was that Qiao Jing was unwilling to assist with the experint.
He hesitated for a mont, still considering Qiao Jing’s status and their need for her help with the research, he decided to try speaking politely first.
If speaking nicely didn’t work, he would have to resort to the tactic Frank ntioned.
With this in mind, John withdrew his gaze from the lab table and turned to look at Qiao Jing.
“Professor Qiao, are you unwilling to help us with the experints?”
