Chapter 643: Chapter 632: Treating Zhan Qipei’s Wound
Qiao Jing watched helplessly as the two argued, interrupting their conversation.
“Stop arguing.”
If this continues, it would never end.
But… if Ni Yue and Yu Yangqi each took a sleeping bag, that would leave only one sleeping bag left.
This ant she would either have to share a sleeping bag with Zhan Qipei or one of them would have to sleep without a sleeping bag.
Ni Yue finally stopped paying attention to Yu Yangqi and turned her gaze towards Qiao Jing.
“Xiao Jingjing, can I really not sleep with you? Or… can I have Yu Yangqi take the sleeping bag and sleep in the bushes? I don’t mind just lying in the tent by myself.”
Upon hearing this, Yu Yangqi felt sowhat wronged and pursed his lips.
“Do you dislike that much?”
It seed the tutorial he saw online was entirely useless; it said to attract a woman’s attention by bickering with her, but now that he tried, it backfired, making Ni Yue even more inclined to argue with him.
He’d better return to his usual self, otherwise the gap between him and Ni Yue might grow even wider, but then what?
But why did he have to fall for Ni Yue? To have him sleep in the bushes in the dead of night?
Forget it… if it’s for soone he likes, he’ll just endure it…
As Qiao Jing saw they were about to start arguing again, her head throbbed, and she quickly made a choice, interrupting their conversation once more.
“You and Yu Yangqi will each have a sleeping bag, and I’ll share one with Zhan Qipei.”
She had no expectation for Ni Yue to agree to sleep in the sa sleeping bag as Yu Yangqi. After all, it was already quite an achievent for the two to sleep in the sa tent, let alone the sa sleeping bag.
However… it seed she would now have to share a sleeping bag with Zhan Qipei.
When Zhan Qipei heard Qiao Jing’s words, his dark eyes imdiately brightened, gazing at Qiao Jing with a burning look.
His forrly knitted brows slowly smoothed out, and though he remained silent, not wanting to disturb Qiao Jing, his mind had already begun to fantasize about sleeping together with her.
It had been such a long ti since they had last fallen asleep together, both aware of the other’s presence.
Today, finally, the opportunity had arrived!
Ni Yue, on the other hand, gave a regretful “Hmm,” glaring disdainfully at Yu Yangqi. Without another word, she took a sleeping bag from his hands and walked into the tent without looking back.
After Ni Yue entered the tent, Yu Yangqi quickly stepped up beside Qiao Jing, lowering his voice and said:
“Boss, what should I do now? Ni Yue still won’t agree to sleep with .”
Qiao Jing slightly raised an eyebrow and responded:
“Stop pretending to be the victim after getting a benefit. Be grateful she agreed to sleep in the sa tent as you, and you dare to ask for more? If I hadn’t given the sleeping bag to her, you might very well have to sleep in the bushes tonight.”
Yu Yangqi was stunned for a mont, glancing at the remaining two sleeping bags in his hands.
“Was she actually going to make sleep in the bushes?”
In his mind, he automatically envisioned being kicked out of the tent by Ni Yue, forcing him to sleep among the bushes, and he internally complained:
Yu Yangqi, as the owner of Zhouhuan Restaurant, had now co down to possibly sleeping in the bushes…
At that thought, Yu Yangqi sighed deeply before shaking his head.
It was just too miserable!
Qiao Jing noticed Yu Yangqi’s mind was wandering and imdiately spoke to bring him back to reality.
“Do you think Ni Yue wouldn’t do it?”
She knew Ni Yue’s personality: once she said sothing, if she took it seriously, she might really make Yu Yangqi sleep in the bushes.
Yu Yangqi thought it over carefully, then nodded solemnly.
“Yes.”
If this were based on Ni Yue’s character, it indeed seed like sothing she could do.
But he would rather not use a sleeping bag than to let their leader suffer by cramming into one with Zhan Qipei.
Just as he was about to hand both sleeping bags to Qiao Jing, tiny raindrops began to float down from the sky.
Only then did Yu Yangqi rember the weather forecast ntioning a light rain in the early hours of the morning, which, unfortunately, started just as they hadn’t finished distributing the sleeping bags.
He paused, wanting to imdiately give the sleeping bags to Qiao Jing, but Zhan Qipei suddenly appeared before him.
After taking one of the sleeping bags, Zhan Qipei briskly walked into the tent with Qiao Jing and zipped it up.
Yu Yangqi hadn’t reacted yet and still stood disheveled in the wind.
It was only after another raindrop hit his face that he ca to his senses. After hesitating for a few seconds, he glanced at the sleeping bag in his hands and then at the tent Qiao Jing had entered, its zipper already pulled up.
In the end, he didn’t bother Qiao Jing and the others and went into another tent with the sleeping bag.
Inside the tent.
Qiao Jing watched Zhan Qipei setting up the sleeping bag and surveyed the space it offered.
It wasn’t very large, but not too small either. There was plenty of room for one person, but for two, it might be a bit cramped.
Qiao Jing pursed her red lips and stopped pondering the issue. She opened the backpack Zhan Qipei had brought along.
She intended to find so antiseptic or sothing to treat the man’s wounds, but what she found were mostly items intended for her use.
For example, a thermos labeled with “brown sugar ginger drink” and another labeled “maternity milk.”
Beyond that, there was a new set of clothes for her, various types of biscuits, and a container with fruit in it.
Seeing these items, a barely perceptible wave stirred in the depths of Qiao Jing’s eyes, suddenly feeling a warm current passing through her heart.
She had been curious about what Zhan Qipei brought that was so heavy. Now, seeing it, it was all for her.
But… as touched as she was, couldn’t the jerk Zhan Qipei bring so of his own stuff and tools that might be useful?
Unable to find dical supplies in the backpack, Qiao Jing’s delicate brows furrowed slightly as she raised her eyes to look at the man still arranging the sleeping bag.
“Zhan Qipei, did you bring any disinfectant or cotton swabs?”
Although Zhan Qipei’s wounds weren’t severe, basic disinfection was necessary, especially since the dirt and stones in the mountains could be dirty, and she was worried about infection.
Zhan Qipei’s actions paused, and he glanced at the backpack.
“Only disinfectant.”
After saying that, he sped up his pace arranging the sleeping bag. Once done, he ca over to Qiao Jing’s side, fished out a small bottle of dical disinfectant from the sides of his backpack.
“This was prepared for you, in case you scratched yourself or sothing.”
What he hadn’t expected was that this bottle of disinfectant would end up being used on him.
Hearing Zhan Qipei’s words, Qiao Jing’s frown deepened even more.
Without cotton swabs, that ant she would have to use her hands to disinfect Zhan Qipei’s wounds, and she would need to avoid the more serious ones by being extra gentle.
Qiao Jing took the disinfectant, examined Zhan Qipei’s wounds for a while.
“Take off your shirt and turn around.”
As she spoke, she opened a small lamp from the backpack and was surprised to find it cast a warm yellow light.
It was a stark contrast to the pitch-black forest outside, still drizzled with a light rain.
Inside the tent, it felt like a cozy little ho.
While Qiao Jing was thinking this, Zhan Qipei’s deep voice suddenly erupted.
