Chapter 641: Chapter 630: Are you feeling unwell anywhere?

Qiao Jing’s eyes widened slightly, a hint of confusion appearing in their depths as she quickly reached out and grabbed Zhan Qipei’s wrist.

But in such an urgent situation, she couldn’t muster all her strength imdiately to pull an adult man back, and she ended up being pulled down to the ground by inertia instead.

There was a loud “thump!”

Qiao Jing fell onto a wall of flesh nad Zhan Qipei, which significantly reduced the impact on her.

She instinctively wanted to touch her belly, to protect her abdon.

But the man’s actions were quicker than hers; the large hands under her palms were the first to shield her stomach.

Shortly after, Qiao Jing heard a muffled groan by her ear.

“Hmm…”

Ni Yue and Yu Yangqi, who were following behind the two, were startled by the scene and quickly approached them.

Ni Yue imdiately helped Qiao Jing up, scanning her with a nervous expression.

“What’s going on? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”

Yu Yangqi glanced at Zhan Qipei, still lying on the ground, and offered a hand to help him up, his face displaying admiration.

“Young Master Zhan, you’re tough, a real man!”

“I’m fine.”

After saying this, Qiao Jing looked at Zhan Qipei with a worried gaze.

“Zhan Qipei, how about you? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”

Zhan Qipei smoothly stood up, casually dusting off his clothes and stepped toward Qiao Jing.

He looked at her with concern in his eyes, a deep sense of guilt showing through.

“Are you sure you’re all right?”

If it hadn’t been for him, Qiao Jing wouldn’t have fallen while trying to help.

Although he had protected the woman’s abdon before she fell, he was still worried it might affect her health.

Qiao Jing nodded her head.

“I’m okay.”

Zhan Qipei examined Qiao Jing from top to bottom several tis, staring at her face for a long while, and only after being sure that there was nothing amiss did he withdraw his gaze.

“Let’s continue climbing.”

As Zhan Qipei turned around, Qiao Jing’s peripheral vision suddenly caught sothing, and she imdiately stopped in her tracks.

Today, for the hike, the man hadn’t worn his usual suit but casual clothes instead.

At this mont, there were several tears in the man’s clothes at the back, and from those torn areas erged several patches of wounds, oozing trickles of blood—though not severe.

But on such a path, there were far too many pebbles and little stones; any casual knock could result in bleeding, and it was also very dirty.

Qiao Jing’s brows furrowed tightly.

“Did you get these scrapes from the fall just now?”

For her, such a path was no more than a piece of cake, but now, because she was pregnant, she had to be more careful and couldn’t shuttle through the woods as quickly as before.

“I’m fine, don’t worry about it,” Zhan Qipei said, giving Qiao Jing a reassuring smile.

Qiao Jing, like Zhan Qipei had examined her just before, set her gaze on the man.

“You were walking just fine, how did you suddenly fall?”

For her, such a path was no more than a piece of cake; she was rely being cautious because of her pregnancy, stopping her from moving through the forest as swiftly as she used to.

Even when she had rapidly moved through the woods before, she had never fallen once, yet the usually mature and steady Zhan Qipei had.

However… she could probably guess the reason.

It was because he was protecting her…

Zhan Qipei furrowed his brows, which were thick as mountains and misty as fog, and slowly said:

“I wasn’t paying attention.”

Just now, he had been too focused on Qiao Jing and hadn’t noticed a small pit under his feet. He carelessly stepped into it and then stumbled.

Although he had tried hard to steady himself, he ultimately failed. Fearing that he would drag Qiao Jing down with him, he imdiately let go of the woman’s hand.

But what he hadn’t expected was for Qiao Jing to suddenly grab his wrist, trying to pull him up, which indirectly caused her to be dragged down too.

Fortunately, he ended up cushioning her fall. Otherwise, Qiao Jing might have been hurt.

Qiao Jing slightly raised her delicate brows and asked:

“You weren’t paying attention? Didn’t I tell you to watch your own step and not just look out for ?”

Hearing Qiao Jing’s words, Zhan Qipei pursed his lips and, without saying much, continued to walk forward, holding the woman’s hand.

Qiao Jing’s gaze fell upon the wound on Zhan Qipei and then moved to the pack he was carrying.

“Did you bring dicine?”

Zhan Qipei humd an affirmation.

After looking at the surroundings, Qiao Jing nonetheless decided to wait until they reached the summit to treat Zhan Qipei’s wound.

Ni Yue, who was following behind, understood the aning behind Qiao Jing’s words. She clicked her tongue twice, then shook her head and turned to look at Yu Yangqi.

“If you don’t watch your step and fall, not only will I not help you up, but I’ll also take the opportunity to step on you a few tis.”

As soon as Yu Yangqi heard this, he imdiately retorted:

“Rest assured, if you fall, I surely won’t. And if you were to fall, I would do just as you said.”

When it ca to cobacks, he could give as good as he got!

Zhan Qipei, who was walking ahead, heard the two’s conversation and his expression darkened slightly.

One by one, they kept talking about falling as if he were completely useless.

Qiao Jing noticed the change in the man’s expression and sohow guessed what he was thinking; she couldn’t help but find it sowhat amusing.

“Alright, let’s focus on climbing the mountain now, we need to pick up the pace.”

Otherwise, at this slow pace, who knew when they would reach the summit.

Zhan Qipei nodded but, as before, made sure Qiao Jing walked on the inside and continued to support her.

The only difference was that he divided his attention to watch his own steps.

An hour later, at the mountaintop.

Qiao Jing glanced at the ti; it was nearly two o’clock in the morning.

The climb had taken them slightly over an hour, and drowsiness was setting in for her as well.

Qiao Jing frowned slightly and looked up at Yu Yangqi.

“Where are the tents?”

She usually went to bed around ten and staying up until twelve was already a challenge. Now it was nearly two o’clock, and she was extrely sleepy. They needed to set up the tents quickly so she could rest.

Yu Yangqi imdiately took out two tents and then the tent assembly instructions, laying them on the ground, and handed one to Qiao Jing.

“Boss, you take this one. I got this; I’ll set up my own.”

He had watched the tutorial many tis and was sure there would be no problem setting it up now!

Qiao Jing nodded and took her tent, then started to set it up.

Before she could even begin, Zhan Qipei had already snatched the materials from her hands.
