Chapter 580: Chapter 569: Pride, Qiao Jing is His Daughter-in-Law

The nanny imdiately hastened to fetch the finest pen and paper from the study and placed them before Qiao Jing.

“Miss Qiao, please.”

Qiao Jing nodded and picked up the pen, beginning to write on the paper.

Director Chen approached Qiao Jing’s side, watching her write the prescription, when he suddenly noticed the empty teacup.

He slapped his forehead and exclaid, “Ah!”

“How did I forget about making tea! Miss Qiao, would you like so tea? What kind of tea do you prefer? I have all kinds here.”

Qiao Jing paused her writing for a mont, then said indifferently,

“Anything will do.”

Having said that, she continued writing the prescription.

Upon seeing this, Director Chen imdiately instructed the butler.

“Butler, bring over our best batch of Longjing Tea, as well as Tieguanyin and any other fine teas, and prepare them for Miss Qiao.”

Qiao Jing glanced at the butler, who was hurrying to prepare the tea, and slightly furrowed her brows.

“You don’t need to be so polite.”

She had wanted to say sothing when she saw the nanny bustling about with paper and pen, thinking that any sheet of paper and a ballpoint pen would do—she wasn’t so particular.

Now the butler was preparing so many cups of tea that she couldn’t possibly finish, which truly seed like a waste.

A grateful smile appeared on Director Chen’s face as he waved his hand.

“I took my father to so many hospitals, and they all said he couldn’t be cured. Only you, Divine Doctor Jing, could save my father and even fully restore his health. You saved my father’s life, and making a few cups of tea for you is the least I can do.”

As Qiao Jing wrote the prescription, she had to allocate so of her attention to listening to Director Chen’s words, which was quite a headache.

Zhou Fu had also had his fill of listening, and couldn’t resist chiming in:

“Stop blabbering; you’re going on and on like a buzzing mosquito, disturbing my master as she writes the prescription.”

Director Chen glanced at Qiao Jing, who was still writing, and quickly stepped back a few paces.

“Alright, alright, I’ll stand farther away, so I won’t disturb Miss Qiao while she’s writing the prescription.”

As he spoke, he pulled Zhan Yao aside with him.

Zhan Yao looked at Director Chen with a hint of confusion. He was about to speak when he rembered that Qiao Jing, who was not far away writing the prescription, might be disturbed and thus lowered his voice.

“What’s the matter?”

Director Chen also lowered his voice, fearful of disturbing Qiao Jing, and said with a wry tone:

“I really envy you, Old Zhan. How did you find such an incredible daughter-in-law? That’s Divine Doctor Jing, you know. I would never have guessed you were hiding such a gem. But judging by your reaction earlier, how co you didn’t know that Qiao Jing was Divine Doctor Jing?”

Zhan Yao nodded, his face still not having recovered from the shock.

“I obviously didn’t know either, or else how could I have possibly doubted her just now?”

Director Chen glanced in Qiao Jing’s direction.

“Old Zhan, don’t you feel like we’re whiling away in whispers like thieves, so as not to disturb a young person? It’s quite amusing.”

Indeed, the combined age of the two n exceeded a hundred, yet they found themselves stealthily chatting on the side, keeping their voices low so as not to disturb a young person—in his own ho no less, having yielded his usual seat to her.

But there was no helping it, for Qiao Jing was Divine Doctor Jing—the one who had saved his father’s life!

Zhan Yao looked between himself and Director Chen a few tis before nodding solemnly.

“It does seem that way.”

The two n exchanged a look and simultaneously revealed a wistful smile.

Director Chen heaved a long sigh.

“The younger generation is to be feared! This capital seems to belong to the youth now, and we old fellows have finally reached the ti to retire!”

Zhan Yao furrowed his brow, putting on a stern look.

“Old Chen, are you taking a dig at ? I retired long ago, and it’s Qipei who has been managing the company; you know that.”

Director Chen shook his head.

“Who dares to mock you, I’m just stating the facts. To be honest, I used to think Qiao Jing ca from the countryside and her family background wasn’t a match for Qipei. But now, it seems they are a perfect match, a couple made in heaven! I really was short-sighted back then!”

Just as Zhan Yao was about to say sothing, Zhou Fu ca over with the prescription.

Zhou Fu looked at the prescription for a long while before he was willing to hand it over to Director Chen.

“Here is the prescription, my master has written down everything including how many tis a day to take it, take a good look for yourself.”

Director Chen imdiately received it with both hands, gratefully looking towards Qiao Jing who was nearby.

“Thank you! Thank you, Miss Qiao, thank you, Master Zhou!!”

Qiao Jing pursed her red lips and said softly,

“Don’t ntion it, it’s our duty as doctors. I’ll be going back first.”

Just as she was about to bend over and pick up her dicine box, Zhou Fu snatched it away from her.

“Master, I’ll carry it for you. Where are you heading? I’ll drive you back.”

Director Chen also quickly followed up,

“Ah, yes, yes, Miss Qiao, let drive you back. You’ve really worked hard.”

Qiao Jing shook her head helplessly and took back the dicine box from Zhou Fu’s hands.

“No trouble necessary.”

Before she could even head towards the door, her phone rang.

Qiao Jing took out her phone and saw that it was a call from Su Manhan.

She pressed to answer the call.

“Hello? Madam Zhan.”

Upon hearing Qiao Jing’s response, Zhan Yao imdiately perked up his ears, curiously looking at Qiao Jing.

Why did his wife suddenly call Qiao Jing?

The conversation continued, and Su Manhan’s voice ca from the other end.

“Qiao Jing, have you finished treating the patient? Tonight I made dumplings. Although everyone has already had dinner, dumplings can be a snack, and I didn’t make too much. Also, Old Zhan is waiting for you to co back and join us for dumplings.”

Qiao Jing glanced at the ti and agreed to co.

“Okay.”

Su Manhan said with a laugh,

“Have Qipei pick you up, don’t take a taxi by yourself late at night. Be safe!!”

Qiao Jing acknowledged with a word and hung up the call.

After the call ended, Zhan Yao asked,

“What did she say?”

Qiao Jing put away her phone and answered truthfully,

“Madam Zhan invited over for dumplings, she made them tonight.”

Zhan Yao was startled for a mont, silently grumbling to himself.

He was her husband for heaven’s sake, why didn’t she call him first about coming ho for dumplings, but instead called her daughter-in-law?

But then again, if his daughter-in-law were soone else, he’d surely be jealous.

However, his daughter-in-law was none other than Qiao Jing, Divine Doctor Jing! With such an outstanding daughter-in-law, he was too proud to even think of being jealous.

Co to think of it, given the current situation, his son and daughter probably don’t know Qiao Jing has such an impressive identity. Only he knew in the family, and he was quite pleased about it.

After all, the fact that Qiao Jing is Divine Doctor Jing is so important, and yet he’s the only one in the family who knows it…

While he was feeling rather smug, he suddenly rembered Old Zhan.

Old Zhan had desperately wanted to match Qiao Jing with his son, and thank goodness it was a successful match; otherwise, the Zhan Family would have missed out big ti!

And then, it finally dawned on him.

No wonder when Old Zhan was ill, the hospital insisted on having Qiao Jing co over. It turned out to be because Qiao Jing had such a significant other identity.
