Chapter 148: Chapter 141: Zhan Qipei Wants to Feed Qiao Jing

“Peeling shrimp,” Zhan Qipei responded indifferently.

Su Manhan subconsciously opened her mouth.

She knows you’re peeling shrimp, but was that her question?

It’s not ‘okay’, is it?

Before Su Manhan could think of sothing else to say, Zhan Qipei peeled another shrimp and put it into Qiao Jing’s bowl.

And it didn’t end there. Zhan Qipei picked up a piece of fish, placed it on his own plate, ticulously removed all the bones, and then placed it into Qiao Jing’s bowl as well.

At this act, Su Manhan and the others watched, dumbfounded.

Zhan Yuanshan was so amused that he couldn’t help but burst out in loud laughter.

“Good, very good! That’s what a qualified good husband does!” Zhan Yuanshan stroked his beard, his old eyes squinting with mirth as he looked at Zhan Qipei with great satisfaction.

Qiao Jing looked at the shrimp and fish in her bowl, her expression one of awkward indecision—neither to eat nor to abstain.

In the end, Qiao Jing moved her chopsticks and placed the shrimp and fish into Zhan Qipei’s bowl.

“I have hands of my own; I can do it myself.”

No sooner had Qiao Jing finished speaking, than she saw Zhan Qipei picking up a shrimp again and holding it up to her mouth.

“So, you’re upset that I haven’t fed you.”

Qiao Jing “…”

Everyone “…”

“Zhan Qipei.”

“Hmm, I’m here.”

Qiao Jing took a breath, and facing the doting gaze of Zhan Qipei, found herself incapable of losing her temper.

“Do you want to feed you, or will you eat by yourself?” Zhan Qipei said, moving the shrimp closer to Qiao Jing’s mouth, just a tiny bit away from touching her lips.

Qiao Jing’s eye twitched wordlessly, her temples involuntarily pulsating as well.

To be fed? Or to eat by herself?

Between the two, Qiao Jing chose the latter.

Sitting opposite them, Zhan Ruiting blinked and then looked at Zhan Qipei.

“Cousin, what’s this… Does this an you’re not planning to get a divorce?”

Did Zhan Qipei grasp Zhan Ruiting’s intention?

He was taking aim at Qiao Jing!

“Not getting a divorce, not for a lifeti.”

“What?!” Su Manhan’s chopsticks dropped to the floor.

Zhan Nanqing drunkenly held a rib in her mouth, stunned!

Zhan Ruiting, on the other hand, jumped to her feet, staring at Zhan Qipei with eyes full of disbelief.

“Hahaha—” Zhan Yuanshan laughed heartily, “Good! It’s right not to divorce! Truly worthy of the man I approved of, excellent judgnt indeed!”

Qiao Jing put down her chopsticks, turned her cold face towards Zhan Qipei, “Whether we divorce or not isn’t up to you. One hundred days were agreed upon, and it’s one hundred days. Now, only five days are left.”

The two locked eyes, for a full minute.

One minute later.

Zhan Qipei picked up Qiao Jing’s bowl and filled it with plenty of delicious dishes, then poured her a glass of juice.

“Eat up.”

Qiao Jing looked at the mountain of dishes in her bowl, the glass filled with juice, and then at the man’s face beaming with indulgence. She felt as though she had punched with all her might only to hit a mass of cotton.

After the al, Zhan Nanqing followed Qiao Jing out into the courtyard.

“Qiao Jing, you’re not keeping your word! Didn’t you say you disliked my brother? So what exactly is going on between you two now?”

Qiao Jing massaged her temple, “Are you visually impaired? Can’t you see it’s your brother who’s been laying on the charm nonstop? Didn’t you notice that I’m also troubled by it?”

Zhan Nanqing was left speechless by Qiao Jing’s retort. After a couple of seconds, a guess occurred to her.

“Qiao Jing! You couldn’t possibly be pretending to say that in front of and Xinrou with the intention of making us drop our guard, focusing all our attention on Lan Yinyin. All so that while we’re caught up in a struggle with Lan Yinyin, you’d have the chance to conquer my brother?”

Zhan Nanqing felt sure her speculation was the truth and then looked at Qiao Jing as if she were a rat that had scurried out into the light.

“`

Contempt.

Qiao Jing chuckled lightly and shook her head.

“What are you laughing at? Is it because I exposed your lies, so you’re using laughter to cover it up?” Zhan Nanqing said, huffing with anger.

Qiao Jing looked at Zhan Nanqing like she was looking at an idiot.

“I’m laughing at you because you think too highly of yourself. You and Lan Yinyin are fighting a battle to the death? I only see the fish dead, the net not yet torn.”

“You, you—” Zhan Nanqing’s face turned red with suffocation, filled with sha and only wanting to find a mouse hole to crawl into.

“That’s not the point, don’t change the subject! I’m asking you, is it true like I said, that you deliberately told you weren’t interested in my brother and then went on to seduce him?”

Zhan Nanqing grew more certain as she spoke.

She had told herself, how could Qiao Jing possibly not like her brother? He was so outstanding that any woman would want to climb into his bed.

Soone like Qiao Jing, a country bumpkin, must certainly be dreaming of transforming from a sparrow to a phoenix, from Cinderella to a queen.

“Alright, I agree to cooperate with you,” Qiao Jing said.

“Huh?” Zhan Nanqing was stunned. “What—what cooperation?”

Where did that co from all of a sudden?

She was questioning if Qiao Jing had used shady thods to seduce her brother, and now she was talking about cooperation out of the blue.

“Not only is your vision poor, but your mory is also bad,” Qiao Jing comnted with a sneer.

“It’s you who’s bad!”

“You forgot about the ti you ca to talk to about cooperating,” Qiao Jing reminded her.

“When did I—” Zhan Nanqing was saying this when her eyes suddenly widened.

“You an, cooperating to deal with Lan Yinyin?” Zhan Nanqing stared at Qiao Jing with wide eyes.

“Exactly. I’ll help you deal with Lan Yinyin, and in return, you need to do a favor. Help keep your brother away from , tell him to stop bothering ,” Qiao Jing said earnestly, without a trace of joking in her expression.

Zhan Nanqing was taken aback.

It directly told her that Qiao Jing was not pretendingshe was sincerely disinterested in having any relationship with her brother.

Truth be told.

Her feelings were very complicated.

On one hand, she was happy that Qiao Jing had no such ideas about her brother. On the other hand, why did she feel like her brother was being disdain by Qiao Jing?

Her brother was so good. Why disdain him? Her brother being nice to you is your good fortune.

She almost blurted out these words.

“Are you serious?” Zhan Nanqing stared at Qiao Jing intently.

“Otherwise, shall we sign a contract?” Qiao Jing suggested.

Hearing this, Zhan Nanqing no longer doubted the sincerity in Qiao Jing’s words.

“No need for a contract. Let our cooperation be effective from now,” she said.

After saying this, Zhan Nanqing felt an unpleasant taste in her heart.

“I’m very curious, with your brother being so outstanding and girls liking outstanding n, why don’t you like my brother?”

Qiao Jing lightly raised her slender eyebrows and casually replied, “Your brother isn’t as outstanding as .”

Zhan Nanqing “…”

“Pfft! Narcissist.”

Zhan Nanqing pursed her lips and, without paying any more attention to Qiao Jing, turned and walked away.

She had not gone far when she heard Qiao Jing’s voice behind her.

“Have you finished the report? Hand it over tomorrow.”

Hearing this, Zhan Nanqing paused mid-step, twitched the corner of her mouth, then marched into the villa, headed to her room. She had to stay up all night and pull an all-nighter to write the report.

The next day.

Zhan Nanqing arrived at Nantai Apartnt with dark circles under her eyes as authentic as a panda’s.

She approached the door and pressed the doorbell.

“Coming, coming,” a man’s voice, full of sunny disposition, ca from inside.
