Chapter 110: Chapter 104: Who Are You Exactly?

Several sets?!

Zhan Qipei looked at Qiao Jing with an incredibly surprised expression, while Qiao Jing glared at Wen Binbin, clearly annoyed.

It’s just your talk too much.

After understanding the implication in Qiao Jing’s words, Wen Binbin hurriedly retreated to the doorway of the living room, “I’ll be leaving now! No need to see out.”

Having said that, Wen Binbin quickly pulled open the door and scurried out.

The living room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Before Qiao Jing could think of a good excuse, she heard a “ding—” from her phone as Wen Binbin sent a ssage.

“Since I’ve co all this way, I plan to stay in the capital a bit longer. If you’re free, may I treat you to a al?”

Wen Binbin’s last ssage clearly scread of his desire to live.

The secret was out, and there was no point in blaming him for being talkative anymore. Besides, she didn’t disclose her situation to Zhan Qipei.

Of course, she hadn’t expected that Wen Binbin would co to the capital because he had accepted the task to kill her.

Qiao Jing typed a string of numbers and a door code, and sent it to Wen Binbin.

“Thanks, Big Bro Jing.”

Wen Binbin cheerfully said, “Now I have a place to stay tonight.”

After putting down her phone, Qiao Jing noticed that Zhan Qipei was still staring at her.

“You should head to bed early,” Qiao Jing casually greeted Zhan Qipei before heading to her own room.

“Qiao Jing,” Zhan Qipei called out to stop her, “just who are you, really?”

Qiao Jing stopped her steps, but did not turn around, “Everyone has their own secrets.”

This simple statent was enough to stop Zhan Qipei from asking any more questions.

By saying this, Qiao Jing made her stance clear; their marriage was only carried out due to a promise made by their grandfathers. Neither had the right to interfere in the other’s personal life.

Realizing this, Zhan Qipei’s face returned to its usual sternness, and without saying another word, he went back to his room.

Qiao Jing looked towards Zhan Qipei’s tightly closed door and thought it was best he didn’t ask further, as she really couldn’t find a proper reason to explain.

She opened her room door, went in, and quietness returned once again.

“What did you say?!” Qian Haisheng looked at his assistant with disbelief.

“How can this be? Leng Qing won’t take the task? Why won’t he accept it? Is it because the price is too low?”

The assistant shook his head, “I tried to increase the price, but he still won’t accept.”

This left Qian Haisheng unable to understand; his offer was certainly not low, and the assistant had even tested Leng Qing’s inclination by raising the price, yet he still refused the task.

“Could it be that the Zhan Family found out about his hiring of Leng Qing and extended their influence into the alliance?” guessed Qian Yuang.

“Impossible,” Qian Haisheng refuted Qian Yuang’s guess, “The alliance has its own principles, it never mixes with any family.”

“Then could it be that Leng Qing knows Qiao Jing?” Qian Yuang continued to speculate.

Qian Haisheng widened his eyes at Qian Yuang.

“No, that can’t be right? I was just saying, it can’t be that coincidental, can it?” Qian Yuang swallowed nervously.

After a full minute, Qian Yuang instructed the assistant, “Since Leng Qing is unwilling to act, let’s ask the alliance’s second best assassin to complete the job.”

“Yes.”

Ten minutes later, the assistant returned, sweating, “The second assassin won’t accept either.”

“What?!” Qian Haisheng stopped twirling the jade beads, his eyes wide as saucers.

The assistant swallowed his saliva and continued, “It’s not just the second assassin who won’t take the job; the entire alliance won’t.”

“Clack—” Jade Beads fell to the ground, making a “clattering” noise, which sounded particularly jarring in the silent living room.

Qian Haisheng didn’t know when he had stood up, his mouth agape, unable to utter a sound for a long ti.

“What exactly happened?” Qian Yuang couldn’t help but ask.

“This, I’m not sure. I checked, but just couldn’t find anything,” the assistant replied, frowning.

After thinking for a mont, Qian Yuang said, “Could it really be as I guessed? Do Qiao Jing and Leng Qing really know each other? Are the assassins in the alliance not taking the job because they are looking out for Leng Qing’s face?”

Qian Haisheng sorted through his shocked and bewildered thoughts, analyzing Qian Yuang’s words from before.

Although his son was usually not well-behaved, his analysis just now made so sense.

“Keep looking.”

“Yes.”

After instructing the assistant, Qian Haisheng turned to Qian Yuang, “Find a chance to get closer to Qiao Jing, see if you can uncover any clues.”

“Sure! Don’t worry, leave it to . I will definitely handle it well!”

Qian Yuang was delighted, for not killing Qiao Jing ant he could find ways to get to her.

Three days later, when Qiao Jing’s aunt had left, he made plans with Wen Binbin to dine out.

“So many people!” Wen Binbin stood at the entrance of the restaurant and looked inside, “No wonder it’s the biggest restaurant in the capital! Jing brother, did you make a reservation in advance?”

Just as Qiao Jing was about to say sothing, he heard a nauseating voice.

“Isn’t this Miss Qiao? We really are fated.”

The speaker was none other than Qian Yuang.

As soon as Qian Yuang appeared, he couldn’t keep his eyes to himself, leering at Qiao Jing.

“Jing brother, this guy is leering at you, do you know him?” Wen Binbin asked, puzzled.

Qian Yuang twitched the corners of his mouth. What did he an by leering? And more so, it was one thing to speak ill of him, but to do so loudly?

Was that polite?

“A mber of the Qian Family, just ignore him, pretend we don’t know him,” Qiao Jing said coldly.

“Oh, now I get it; he’s just a sleazebag!” Wen Binbin said contemptuously, casting a glance at Qian Yuang.

Qian Yuang was infuriated by Qiao Jing and Wen Binbin, especially Wen Binbin, the fatso, who spoke so offensively. Be careful, or you might just infuriate him enough to truly turn you into a dead fatso.

“Let’s go in.” Qiao Jing turned around, not sparing Qian Yuang an extra glance.

“Wait!” Qian Yuang stopped Qiao Jing, “With so many people inside, you didn’t make a reservation, did you? This is the biggest restaurant in the capital; ordinary people have to book three days in advance. Not only that, they have a very famous dish, Imperial Bird’s Nest Tofu, made with top-quality ingredients using a special cooking thod, which leaves a delightful and unforgettable taste in your mouth. Unfortunately, they only serve ten pots a day.”

“Luckily, I booked a few pots a few days ago. Even I had to wait in line for half a month. If you co with, I’ll let you taste it, how does that sound?” Qian Yuang said, his face showing a determination to succeed.

Based on his experience, he was sure Qiao Jing would throw herself into his arms montarily.

However—

“You’re really annoying!” said Qiao Jing, impatiently taking out his phone, “I’m in your restaurant now.”

“Miss Qiao, you’ve arrived? I’m currently tied up with sothing, I’ll have soone attend to you. The private room is just down to the last one, please don’t mind.”

“No need for a private room, the view on the first floor is quite nice. Just arrange a seat on the second floor, it’s good for enjoying the view,” Qiao Jing said while admiring the decoration on the first floor, where peach trees abounded—though artificial, they looked very convincing.

Not only were there peach trees, but also a lotus pond, with realistic lotus flowers illuminated by candlelight, the fish swimming joyfully in the water.

Qian Yuang, in his persistent annoyance, ca over, “Can’t book, right? I told you, it’s hard for ordinary people to book, you just—”

Qian Yuang hadn’t finished speaking when he saw the lobby manager walking toward them.
