Renar stared at Lethia in disbelief, thrown off once again by her unpredictable nature. She always had a way of catching him off guard. For Renar, her presence turned his boring days into sothing far more interesting.

"Are you serious?" he asked, a slow smile tugging at his lips as he raised a brow.

"Half-kidding, but your answer might make reconsider," Lethia replied, waiting for his response with a calm indifference.

He chuckled. "Yes, you can, but not by my hands." Shrugging on his coat, he grabbed his things. "Let’s go."

She hurried after him and frowning. "What do you an?"

Renar abruptly stopped and turned around, making her stumble back in surprise. He lowered his gaze to et hers, his voice smooth and deliberate.

"Why would I ruin this beauty of yours with a scalpel?" His brow arched, and a smirk curved his lips.

Lethia, already used to his sudden proximity and teasing, smirked right back. "Because you refused to ruin with sothing else."

Inside the elevator, the reflection of a fox flickered across the mirror, making Lethia’s breath hitch. Her eyes widened as she instinctively turned to Renar, checking if he had seen it too. But he remained utterly unbothered.

["Do you miss ?"] The familiar sultry voice of the fox echoed in her mind. Its sudden appearance made Lethia’s eyes burn with rage.

’You... How dare you leave alone like that last night?’

["You did well, though. And so creative with your foreplay."] The fox’s expression was smug, its brows wiggling in playful mockery.

Lethia clenched her fists, resisting the urge to punch the reflection on the elevator wall—if only she were alone. But then, her anger twisted into confusion.

The fox had four tails now.

’You... your tails...’

["Ha ha ha... That’s the good news I wanted to tell you. You did well, and now, another tail has appeared."]

’That’s because of ?’

Ding!

The elevator doors slid open, and the fox’s reflection vanished, though its voice still rang clear in Lethia’s mind. She and Renar stepped into the lobby, waiting for his tech-savvy car to pull up.

["Ah, right... I haven’t fully explained how the fox bead inside Renar works, have I?"]

’Fully explained? There’s more to it than just the spice marked by knotting?’

["Oh won, listen, spirit foxes are not just gratuitous sluts. A life bead isn’t sothing ford by re lust."]

Lethia chuckled darkly to herself. At least the fox had enough self-awareness to admit that she was a slut after all.

’I know that much. And knotting requires a bond.’’

["Exactly... To make the bead glow, it needs three ignition stages. And each ti a stage succeeds, another one of my tails appears."]

’What did I do to make another one appear?’

["Ha ha ha... You made him like you."]

"What?!" Lethia yelped, drawing Renar’s attention.

"What ’what’?" Renar asked in confusion.

"Ah, nothing. I wasn’t talking to you." She fumbled, looking away.

Renar’s car pulled up just in ti, handing Lethia a perfect excuse to escape before the conversation could go any further.

’Fox! Now tell more!’

["So, for one bead, I’ll gain three tails—each triggered by a different ignition. The first tail appears when you make him like you. The second, when he becos your protector. And the last... the knot process. Ha... ha..."]

Renar and Lethia arrived at Lykon Haven, a place that truly embodied toxicity. Despite its grandeur, the landscape didn’t leave Lethia in awe. Because it’s no other like Tuffin Resort & Apartnt, since the Tuffin family was one of the founders of it, shaping it into what it was.

She stepped into the estate, passing through the lush gardens filled with blooming flowers before heading toward the entrance.

’What kind of ’like’ are you talking about?’

["The kind where you feel drawn to soone but still live in denial."]

What kind of bullshit was this fox spewing again? But Lethia had no choice but to believe it.

’So, what’s next? I need him to be my protector? Are we at war?’

"Oh, darling, you do know what it ans for a man to beco your protector after he likes you. He would burn down everything that dares to disturb or hurt you. Would be even better if he was willing to die for you. Ha ha... That way, when he finally submits and gives you his whole being, the satisfaction will be... divine."

Lethia paused, mulling over the fox’s words.

’So basically... you want him to love ?’

["Ah... love. Yes... The bead would taste so much sweeter if it glowed for love."]

’You’re insane. How the hell am I supposed to do that when I don’t even love him?’

["That’s the irony of love. To be loved, you don’t have to love them back."]

’Crazy bitch!’

The fox cackled wildly upon hearing Lethia’s straightforward insult.

["And... I’ll give you a reward each ti a new tail erges—until I reach nine. So, for this new tail, choose wisely. You can either summon whenever you want... or stop when I’m possessing you."]

Lethia gritted her teeth. This fox had a way of speaking that made it sound so twistedly sweet. The ntion of a reward piqued her interest. But... what could she expect from a cunning fox?

’I thought you’d ask what I want. But, whatever I do, it always ends up in your favor, doesn’t it?’

["Of course, darling, I’m a spirit fox, not a genie or fairy. But trust , whatever I give to you, that too will always end up helping you. I have a better judgnt of what you really need... at the mont."]

Lethia chuckled inwardly. There was no point in arguing with a cunning fox like this. For now, she could only use every possibility to her own advantage. She had to choose the option that offered her the greatest gain.

’Fine. I choose to be able to summon you whenever I want.’

It was a tricky choice. But for now, being friendly with the fox and willingly allowing herself to be possessed could work to Lethia’s advantage later, at least, that was what she thought.

["Alright, sure... request granted, just call my na when you need . Ha ha ha..."]

’So, you do have a na. Who is it?’

["Whisney."]

"Whisney... what a la na," Lethia muttered under her breath.

While conversing with the fox in her mind, Lethia simply followed behind Renar. Until finally, she stepped into a room that made her eyes widen at what she saw. A scene that was incredibly enticing, yet utterly inappropriate. A chill crawled up her spine.
