Possessed No More: The True Star Returns to Claim Her Throne Chapter 106: Encounter
[How much did soone spend to hire these trolls? Coming to our Old Ford’s stream just to be disgusting. If you don’t want to watch, then get out.]
[Have that old fossil’s fans gone crazy? Yelling at random viewers too? Whatever, I’m out. I heard Riley Perry and Victoria Koenig are riding deer next door. That’s gotta be better than this.]
[Going too.]
[I’m leaving too.]
And just like that, the viewer count in Live Stream Room 1 plumted, losing nearly half its audience.
The atmosphere in Live Stream Room 3 was much better. Worried they wouldn’t have anything for lunch, Roxanne Fulton had gone out early in the morning to look for mushrooms in the forest. Best Actor King, of course, couldn’t let her go alone. By the ti they erged from the woods, they had found two redemption cards, both for food.
One serving of military-grade biscuits and one serving of ham sausage.
"Our luck is pretty good today. Why don’t we get an early start on the road while the weather is still cool?"
Best Actor King replied, "Sounds good. We can rest after we get the second flag. Our good luck is probably because of you. I’ve never been this lucky before. I’ve never even won two yuan from a lottery ticket."
Roxanne Fulton waved her hands dismissively. "My luck is even worse. Forget the lottery, I’ve never won a single thing from a raffle in my entire life."
"Sigh, I rember when I was in high school, I went shopping with my mom at a mall. They were having a promotion where you’d get one prize draw for every five hundred yuan you spent. The consolation prize was a pair of stockings. We spent over three thousand yuan, so we should have gotten six draws. I wasn’t expecting the grand prize, but you’d think we could at least get a consolation prize, right? But by the ti it was our turn, not only did we win nothing, but they had run out of all the consolation prizes too."
Best Actor King asked in disbelief, "Are you serious?"
"Of course! I rember that day like it was yesterday."
Just then, a woman’s voice drifted out from the forest. "Doesn’t that just an a negative tis a negative makes a positive? After the show, Jade, you and Best Actor King should go buy a lottery ticket together. You might just win the jackpot!"
Roxanne Fulton was stunned for a mont, then gasped. "Oh my god, Riley Perry! And Victoria Koenig! How are you two riding deer?"
Riley Perry hopped off her deer, casually grabbing a bunch of bananas and a few apples. She walked over and tossed them into Roxanne Fulton’s arms. "It must be fate that we ran into each other. These are for you and your team, Jade."
Victoria Koenig also swung her leg down, stretching her sore waist and numb thighs.
"Huh? Oh, we couldn’t possibly. Riley Perry, you should keep these for yourselves. The redemption cards the production team prepared are too hard to find. This fruit could keep you from going hungry."
Best Actor King chid in, "That’s right. Our luck has been good today; we’ve already found two cards."
Riley Perry grabbed her arm and pointed at the deer. "See that? We have enough fruit there to last us three or four days."
Roxanne Fulton and Best Actor King looked at the deer’s back and were instantly rendered speechless.
"Riley Perry, what... what is going on here?"
’Riding a deer? Is this deer yours or sothing?’
’Of course it’s not mine,’ Riley thought. ’It’s a Class I protected species, after all. I can’t just keep one at ho.’
"It’s exactly what it looks like. Anyway, where are you two headed next?"
Roxanne Fulton got excited. "Here, this is our map. Take a look. Are our routes from here on out the sa?"
Riley Perry actually took it and had a look. "Ahem. Jade, you’re celebrating a bit too soon. We’re about to go our separate ways. You must have taken a wrong turn, otherwise our two teams shouldn’t have t here."
She had no idea how they’d read the map, but Best Actor King’s team had managed to take a route that was almost a quarter shorter than hers.
"Your flag is on the right side of the mountain, while ours is in the middle. These aren’t the sa path at all."
Best Actor King’s mouth twitched. He couldn’t figure out where they had gone wrong.
"So which way should we be going?"
He noticed that Riley Perry’s map seed to have several more lines on it than theirs.
Riley Perry unfolded the map and began to explain, pointing to the markers. "You should follow this path here. See, you just have to circle around this way. There should be a bamboo forest over here, and the flag is right at its edge."
"How on earth did Director Warren draw this map? This is the symbol for a bamboo forest? I would’ve understood if he’d just drawn three bamboo leaves," Roxanne Fulton pouted.
"His goal is to make it unrecognizable. The only reason I can read it is because I got a look at the terrain from the air when I was parachuting in. Otherwise, I’d probably be completely lost too."
It’s common to get disoriented while spinning on the way down from the sky. This is especially true for people with a poor sense of direction; they can easily lose their bearings if they don’t stick to a single path for even a short while.
Riley Perry handed the map back to Best Actor King and threw an arm around Roxanne Fulton. "Jade~ You got lost on purpose just to co et . I can’t let you leave just like that. Let’s have lunch together, what do you say?"
Roxanne Fulton was so amused she burst out laughing, absolutely delighted. "Okay! We’ll stay. Let’s have lunch together."
Best Actor King couldn’t help but chuckle. "In that case, I’ll go find a spot to set up the pot and cook."
He had seen the pot belonging to Riley Perry’s team on the deer’s back.
Victoria Koenig was even more proactive. "I’ll go exchange for supplies. There’s no water here, and it just so happens we found three redemption cards for drinking water today."
After speaking, she looked at the cara operator following her. "Director Warren’s intentions are so obvious. His main goal is just to ss with us. Do you know how much water you get for each card? Fifty-five pounds! A full fifty-five pounds! One bucket! One giant bucket! And you can’t redeem it in smaller portions." Any water they didn’t use would go to waste.
She looked at the cara with a deadpan expression. "Director Warren, you’re so evil!"
Victoria Koenig’s fans erupted in laughter again. What a coincidence that the four of them had t up for a al and now had water. It was hard to tell if Director Warren was trying to tornt them or help them.
Riley Perry unloaded the gear from the sika deer, letting them go graze and rest. "Jade, I’m going to go try my luck and see if I can catch a chicken or a rabbit to add to our lunch. Can you handle gathering firewood?"
Roxanne Fulton replied, "We did see so chickens along the way, but we couldn’t catch them at all. You... maybe you shouldn’t go."
Riley Perry took her dagger out of her backpack, then flashed a smile at Roxanne Fulton. "Oh, I’ll just give it a quick try. We can figure sothing else out if it doesn’t work."
With that, she left.
Afterwards, the viewers in the live stream chat got to see exactly what Riley Perry ant by "a quick try."
Birds often flew through the depths of the forest. Riley Perry pointed to the sky. "You can’t hunt birds. Everyone watching the stream, you must rember this. As of now, almost every species of bird in our country has been added to the list of protected animals. Even sparrows are protected terrestrial wildlife. Hunting more than twenty of them is illegal."
"So, when you’re in the wild, absolutely do not hunt birds. The only exception is if you’re about to starve to death, because that’s considered a necessity defense."
[Is it possible that other people can’t hit them in the first place?]
[Riley Perry must think everyone is as skilled as she is! LMAO, I’m dying. Those two guys in Live Stream Room 1 can’t even catch a single rooster, let alone a bird flying in the sky!]
