"owth? What are you doing here?"

Ash and the others gathered around, staring at their old enemy.

owth had no intention of explaining, only struggling desperately.

"You idiot, let go! If you want to die, don't drag down with you, nyah!"

"Why are you saying we want to die?" Ash asked, confused.

"That giant Dragonite said it's going to kill you—now let go, ow!"

"Giant Dragonite?" Bill recorded excitedly.

"Kill us!?" Misty trembled.

"Why would a giant Dragonite want to kill us?"

Natsu lifted owth by the scruff, curiously studying him.

"It's that idiot researcher! He made the giant Dragonite angry, ow!"

owth pointed straight at Bill, accusing him.

"Ahh…" Misty covered her face.

As expected, the *catfishing* had made her furious.

"Even if she found out the mating call was fake, would she really get this mad?" Bill scratched his head awkwardly.

But at his words, owth flew into a rage. Even with his neck pinched, he kicked furiously at Bill.

"What mating call!? The sounds from your lighthouse were all insults—*insults*!!"

owth's claws lashed out. If Natsu weren't holding him, he would have already torn at Bill's face.

"That's impossible! This Pokémon's cries are rare and strange, but I compared them—they're very similar to mating calls." Bill insisted.

"Exactly, ow. *That kind* of insulting, mocking tone."

owth raised his paw, utterly exhausted.

"…"

The air froze in eerie silence.

*ROAR!!*

A deafening cry ripped through the sky, whipping up a gale no weaker than a devastating Hurricane, scattering the mist over the sea.

From the lighthouse's beacon, glowing faintly in the dark, a massive Dragonite appeared before them.

Her eyes burned scarlet, filled with violent fury, glaring up at the lighthouse.

"Just a reminder, that looks like a mother Dragonite protecting her young. We're dood, nyah."

owth lifted his paw in surrender, giving up resistance.

"Great Ball Rotom—Curse Sphere!"

A beam of violet light shot into Dragonite.

Her body twisted briefly, but the Great Ball Rotom failed to capture her.

"Huh?" Natsu froze.

"Natsu, do you have any other way?"

White light gathered in Dragonite's maw. With the mist gone, she wouldn't miss this ti.

"Doomspear!"

A gray-white pillar of energy struck Dragonite, her body beginning to fade into the sa pale hue.

"It worked!" Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

But the effect didn't last. The gray faded after spreading only to Dragonite's neck, and in monts, she was back to normal.

*ROAR!!*

Her eyes blazed with even greater fury as more energy gathered madly in her mouth.

"Natsu, do you have any other way?" Bill looked at him in despair.

"No idea. Maybe toss Ash up there and let him punch her once?"

"Ugh, this isn't the ti for jokes, Natsu!" Misty snapped.

"Fine! Watch my gaton Punch!" Ash was already eager, standing on the lighthouse railing.

"Are you an idiot!?"

Misty grabbed his leg, trying to drag him back down.

Standing calmly behind Natsu, Giselle showed not a shred of worry.

"Hmph, if Mr. Natsu isn't panicking, then he must already have a plan."

Giselle spoke with certainty.

"Of course I'm not worried. My Rotom can use Teleport."

"…"

"Mr. Natsu, you won't leave behind, right?" Giselle clutched his sleeve tightly, afraid he'd vanish without warning.

"Alright, enough jokes. Rob the Rich, Aid the Poor Ball!"

As he spoke, Great Ball Rotom fired a blue beam, absorbing the charging giant Dragonite inside.

Everyone brightened at the sight.

"I knew you'd have a way, Natsu!" Ash said happily.

"Natsu, how long can that seal hold? Professor Oak just reconnected—Lance is already on his way!"

Natsu raised three fingers.

"Three minutes?" Bill asked nervously, breath quickening.

Natsu lowered one finger.

"1… 0."

The words had barely fallen when the giant Dragonite reappeared over the sea.

"What good is that!? We should've run while we had the chance!" Misty shouted.

"Natsu, did you inflict a status condition on it?"

Brock studied the Dragonite on the sea. It looked dazed, and he couldn't help but speculate.

"No." Natsu shook his head, also watching the Dragonite.

For so unknown reason, it had stopped attacking, now examining itself closely.

Even the slightest movent churned the waters into tsunami-like waves that hamred the cliffs.

The lighthouse beneath them swayed violently.

"No idea why it suddenly froze, but this is a golden chance, ow," owth reminded.

"I agree—we should strike first."

With that, Natsu mounted Great Ball Rotom, carrying owth as he flew into the air.

"I told you to run, nyah! Don't drag along!!"

owth's terrified cries drew the Dragonite's attention.

A pair of massive slit pupils locked tightly onto Natsu.

**Dragonite, Lv.100.**

*Ding!*

[S-Rank: The Mystery of the Giant Dragonite]

[Notice] Special Pokémon detected

[Subject] Giant Dragonite

The system's voice echoed in his mind.

*ROAR!!* For so reason, Dragonite focused entirely on Natsu, reaching out to grab him.

*Level 100 Dragonite?*

Natsu was stunned. Beyond level 50, gaining levels beca exponentially harder.

Level 100 Pokémon—only a dozen or so had ever been recorded in League history.

Still… he might be able to put up a fight.

"Gengar, get them out of here!"

At his command, everyone floated upward.

Gengar's psychic power carried them safely to the beach.

"Mr. Natsu!" Giselle looked up at him, worried.

"Natsu has Teleport. We should focus on our own safety first—keep our distance!" Brock reminded.

On the sea, Dragonite grew frustrated after several failed attempts to grab Natsu.

"Gengar!"

Natsu shouted down.

*Gengaaah—!*

The purple ghost cried out, thinking he was being called to intervene.

But instead, a green beam pulled him inside.

Within Great Ball Rotom, Gengar felt a strange force. Countless black and crimson particles surged into his body!

"Go—Gigantamax Gengar!"

*BOOM—!* A torrent of black and crimson energy erupted from Great Ball Rotom.

Black and crimson thunderclouds filled the sky, serpentine bolts of lightning stretching to reveal a colossal shadow that lood over the entire coast.

A Gengar, magnified countless tis, erged. ITS enormous mouth yawned open like a gateway to the underworld, aid straight at Dragonite.

"That's…!"

Below, everyone forgot to run.

"Isn't Dynamaxing supposed to be impossible in Kanto right now?!" Bill's face lit up with excitent.

How had Natsu managed it?
