Jacob and Kyle continued their friendly banter all the way to the Bug-type Gym, their voices echoing through the streets as they finally arrived at the official check-in counter for the College Cup. The energy around the registration area was electric, with trainers from across the region gathering for what promised to be an unforgettable competition.

Jacob's appearance imdiately caused a noticeable stir among the assembled crowd. While his na might not have been known in every household across the country, he had certainly earned considerable recognition and respect throughout Starlight City. His recent performances and growing reputation as a skilled trainer had not gone unnoticed by the local Pokemon community.

Pushing through the densely packed crowd of excited trainers and spectators, Jacob finally managed to reach the busy check-in counter. As he looked around, he spotted many familiar faces from his past, including Alia, whom he hadn't seen in quite so ti. Her presence at the competition didn't particularly surprise him, as he occasionally received updates about her progress and achievents whenever he spoke with his father and older brother during their regular phone calls.

According to their reports, Alia had been making remarkably rapid progress in her training, and they consistently praised her natural talent and dedication to improvent. It was abundantly clear from their tone and enthusiasm that both his father and older brother held Alia in very high regard, viewing her as one of the most promising young trainers of their generation.

Alia stood gracefully near the check-in counter, her slender and elegant figure imdiately drawing attention from those around her. Her unique temperant and delicate facial features helped her stand out effortlessly in the crowded space, giving her an almost ethereal presence that was difficult to ignore.

"Long ti no see, Alia," Jacob called out with a friendly wave, making his way through the crowd toward her. He approached her with a genuine smile, pleased to encounter a familiar face in the sea of competitors.

"Long ti no see, Jacob," Alia responded, her voice carrying its characteristic gentle quality as her gaze settled on him. There was a warmth in her expression that suggested she was equally pleased to see him again after their ti apart.

The two exchanged these simple but heartfelt greetings before the flow of the crowd naturally carried them in different directions. Both understood that while it was nice to reconnect briefly, they would need to focus on their respective preparations for the competition ahead.

Along with the registration process, each participant was required to complete a random drawing of lots that would determine their placent in the tournant bracket. This mont always carried particular tension, as a favorable draw could an the difference between an early exit and a deep tournant run.

Jacob reached into the container and drew number 135, placing him in the upper bracket of the competition. anwhile, Kyle's draw landed him a position in the lower bracket. Upon seeing this result, Kyle visibly breathed a sigh of relief, clearly grateful that he wouldn't have to face Jacob until potentially the final rounds of the tournant.

Despite his constant verbal bravado and the fact that he never showed any fear of Jacob in their conversations, Kyle privately acknowledged that his Pokemon would likely struggle against Jacob's powerful Sceptile in an actual battle. The prospect of avoiding that confrontation, at least initially, was undeniably comforting.

"Kyle, are you feeling relieved that I'm not in the sa bracket as you?" Jacob asked with a mischievous grin, clearly enjoying the opportunity to tease his friend about the favorable draw.

Given Kyle's naturally stubborn personality, he would never admit to such feelings openly. True to form, Kyle assud his most fearless expression, turning to face Jacob directly.
