Raya was truly stunning, possessing a curvaceous figure and fair, delicate skin that seed to glow with natural beauty. She didn't look like a woman who had given birth to a child at all. Instead, she appeared to be in her twenties despite being much older. The natural charm she effortlessly exuded could make Jacob's heart race uncontrollably.
"Jacob," Raya said softly, her red lips parting slightly, her voice carrying an enchanting and almost hypnotic quality. "I ca to see you for one simple reason—to give you so valuable information. Don't you still have a spot available in the national selection process? I strongly suggest you visit the Ghost Secret Realm and choose a Pokemon there."
"In a few months, there will be a very special party held in the Magic City. Here are the exclusive tickets. Rember to prepare enough money in advance—you'll need it."
"Whoosh!"
Raya gracefully flicked a shiny gold coin from her elegant hand, then pulled her expensive coat tighter around herself, turned smoothly, and walked away with practiced elegance, leaving only her graceful silhouette behind. Unfortunately, Jacob's attention was focused entirely on the mysterious gold coin and he didn't notice her retreating figure.
The gold coin traced a perfect arc through the air and landed gently in Jacob's outstretched palm.
[Gimmighoul Coin]: Collect 999 Gimmighoul coins to evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo.
Jacob examined the precious gold coin in his hand with growing curiosity and concern.
Gimmighoul itself was an extrely rare Ghost-type Pokemon that few trainers had ever encountered, and Gholdengo was countless tis rarer than even Gimmighoul.
This incredible rarity existed because Gimmighoul's evolution requirents were extraordinarily demanding and nearly impossible to et—it needed to collect exactly 999 Gimmighoul coins before it could evolve.
Such harsh and expensive conditions ant that only a very small number of Gimmighoul could ever evolve into the coveted Gholdengo. However, this didn't deter the wealthy elite of this world. In order to make their Gimmighoul evolve, they would purchase Gimmighoul coins at absolutely exorbitant prices, desperately collecting all 999 coins needed for the precious evolution.
This massive demand also made individual Gimmighoul coins extrely expensive and incredibly difficult to obtain through normal ans.
As far as Jacob knew from his research, the price of a single Gimmighoul coin on the black market started at hundreds of thousands of Pokédollars, and even then, supply couldn't co close to eting the intense demand.
In this world, everyone who could successfully evolve a Gimmighoul into Gholdengo was truly wealthy beyond most people's wildest imagination.
There was even a popular saying circulating widely online: "When you et a trainer with a Gholdengo, don't hesitate to befriend them imdiately, because that person could very well be the benefactor of your lifeti."
What did Raya an by giving him this gift? She had given him this incredibly valuable Gimmighoul coin and strongly hinted that he should choose a Gimmighoul egg for his final selection. What was her true purpose behind this generous gesture?
Jacob, lost in worried thoughts and concerns, politely declined Kindler's invitation to celebrate and rushed back to the Dragon Secret Realm in Nina's sleek sports car.
As the sun began to set on the horizon, the afterglow of the sunset painted the entire capital city with a beautiful layer of gold.
Bathed in the sunset's warm glow, Nina radiated an ethereal beauty that completely captivated Jacob as he sat quietly beside her in the passenger seat.
"My father just called —he's already gotten off the plane," Nina said calmly. She had noticed that ever since Jacob finished his mysterious conversation with Raya, he had been frowning in deep, troubled thought. "It probably won't take him long to return to the secret realm."
"Yeah," Jacob nodded absentmindedly, then suddenly asked Nina with genuine curiosity, "By the way, do you know anything about the Ghost Secret Realm?"
"I do," Nina replied thoughtfully, speaking in a soft, knowledgeable tone. "There are two Ghost Secret Realms in China—one is located in Whisperre City, Xiaoxiang Province, and the other is in Duskhollow City, Gusu Province. Why do you ask?"
"Heavenly King Raya gave
a Gimmighoul coin," Jacob said, taking out the mysterious coin Raya had given him and showing it carefully to Nina.
"A Gimmighoul coin?" Nina asked in complete surprise, causing the car to swerve slightly on the road.
"Hey, Teacher Nina, drive carefully!" Jacob was startled and quickly reminded her with concern. "Don't get too excited—safety first!"
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," Nina replied, blushing with embarrassnt as she slowed down the car to a safer speed. "Why would she give you sothing so incredibly valuable like this?"
"I don't know either," Jacob shook his head in confusion. He really couldn't figure out the complicated situation. "Heavenly King Raya told
to go to the Ghost Secret Realm and ntioned that I still have one spot left in the national selection. Is she hinting that I should choose a Gimmighoul egg? She also gave
this Gimmighoul coin before leaving mysteriously."
After listening carefully to Jacob's detailed words, Nina fell into deep, contemplative thought. "Did she ask you to attend a party in a few months?"
"How did you know?" Jacob asked in genuine surprise.
Nina looked as though she had expected this exact scenario. "Do you know what the party is called?"
"How could I possibly know?"
"The Golden Gamble," Nina said, clearly familiar with this exclusive event. She explained it to Jacob in careful detail. "It takes exactly 999 Gimmighoul coins for evolution into Gholdengo. It's nearly impossible for one person to collect 999 coins alone through normal ans."
"To help Gimmighoul trainers evolve into Gholdengo, Raya specially organized the Golden Gamble event. Anyone who possesses Gimmighoul coins can register to participate in this high-stakes ga. Once the total number of Gimmighoul coins held by all participants reaches 999, the party begins. Normally, this event is held once every three years."
"In this gambling ga, when you lose all your Gimmighoul coins, you can choose to leave imdiately or use real money to replace Gimmighoul coins and continue participating. Every 100 million Pokédollars can substitute for one Gimmighoul coin."
"One hundred million?" Jacob was sowhat surprised by the astronomical amount.
999 Gimmighoul coins were equivalent to nearly 100 billion Pokédollars. It truly was a gathering of the ultra-wealthy elite.
"That's absolutely right," Nina said, seeming to recall sothing from her past. "I went there once with my father and witnessed what happens inside those exclusive rooms. There are always professional appraisers and bank staff present during the gambling to help participants access their vast funds. So people use this opportunity to win a few Gimmighoul coins and leave wealthy, while others lose absolutely everything."
Jacob listened intently to Nina's detailed explanation and pondered the serious implications.
Holding this gathering only once every three years also ant that only one Gholdengo would appear in all of China every three years. It seed that Gholdengo's rarity completely surpassed even pseudo-legendary Pokemon in terms of availability. No wonder Jacob had never seen a Gholdengo in this world.
So what was Raya's true purpose in doing this? Jacob couldn't begin to guess her motivations. In fact, the most practical thing for him to do now would be to pretend he knew nothing about this entire matter and simply exchange this coin for 100 million Pokédollars. Making a net profit of 100 million would certainly be pleasant and life-changing.
Raya was indeed the wealthiest woman in the Magic City. Although Jacob felt this practical impulse, honestly, he would rather capture a Pokemon like Gholdengo. This was because Gholdengo was a ridiculously powerful Pokemon—a developer favorite with Pokedex number 1000.
First, let's examine Gholdengo's typing: Ghost/Steel. It had resistance to eight different types, quadruple resistance to one type, immunity to three types, and only four types dealt super-effective damage to it.
Next, let's look at Gholdengo's impressive strength. Since Jacob had never seen a Gholdengo in this world, he could only judge based on its base stats from his knowledge.
Gholdengo was a special attack-oriented Pokemon with a special attack stat of 133 and a practically useless physical attack of only 60. Its defensive stats (HP, Defense, and Special Defense) all averaged over 90, which could be considered quite excellent for competitive battles. Additionally, its speed of 84 wasn't low either.
Then there was its ability: Good as Gold. This was a completely unique ability among all Pokemon. Its effect was to ignore the influence of other Pokemon's status moves entirely. This ability was simply outrageous—absolutely broken in competitive play. Poison, Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, Spore, Haze, and other status moves were all completely ineffective! Of course, the only downside was that beneficial moves from teammates would also be useless.
Finally, there was its impressive move pool. As a special attacker, it had excellent boosting moves like Nasty Plot. Additionally, it had the only group-targeting Steel-type move among all Pokemon: Make It Rain, which was also an exclusive move.
Jacob rembered that in the gas, Make It Rain involved attacking by literally throwing money, but he wondered what it would look like in reality.
So did Gholdengo have any disadvantages?
Of course it did. The biggest disadvantage was that Gimmighoul was incredibly weak before evolution. It only knew two moves—Astonish and Tackle—and wouldn't learn any new moves as it leveled up. It was simply the weakest of the weak.
This made Jacob feel genuinely conflicted. If he chose the Pokemon Gimmighoul, it would be like embarking on a path of no return.
Either help it evolve into the incredibly powerful Gholdengo, or it would remain a useless weakling forever.
