She didn't hesitate for even a heartbeat before dashing out from her hiding place.

The wind outside still howled — but this wasn't ordinary wind.

It was the psychic storm born from wtwo and w's clashing powers.

Her long chestnut hair flew like a wild waterfall in the gale.

Green hunched low, teeth gritted, shielding her face with her hands.

Even then, her human eyes could barely see anything through the swirling grit and chaos.

Dust and gravel whipped up by the psychic wind pelted her skin painfully.

Green sucked in a sharp breath.

She couldn't see wtwo or w — only two dazzling violet glows clashing high above, accompanied by endless explosions: twisted steel and shattered concrete, the earth groaning beneath her feet, and the roaring clouds overhead.

Once again, Green felt certain:

This is power no human could ever hope to resist.

A single being could stand against an army — a single being could bring a nation to its knees.

Perhaps only those mysterious Elite Four could hope to challenge such devastation.

In that instant, a bone-deep chill seized her.

The one she had been seeking — the one she wanted to investigate, to take revenge on — could they be a monster like this too?

A shard of stone struck her delicate cheek.

Pain snapped her from her daze.

She gasped softly, anxiously scanning the sky.

Here, she didn't dare send out her Pokémon.

She understood all too well: when titans clash, even bystanders can be crushed.

In the psychic-charged air, she was utterly alone.

To recall a Pokémon, the ball had to touch its body.

But in this whirlwind of rubble and shockwaves, that was hopeless — a fool's dream.

I can't think about that now… there's only one chance! If it's a Psychic-type with such power, maybe… maybe it can hear !

Green pressed herself into a spot shielded from the wind, filled her lungs, cupped her hands around her mouth, and shouted with all her strength:

"wtwo! If you don't stop now, your trainer is going to die!"

In this psychic storm, her voice should never have carried.

But the mont her words left her lips, she realized — delightedly — that the gale around her had begun to ease.

The wind settled into stillness.

She had guessed right.

The air itself had beco an extension of their psychic senses — their ears, their eyes.

Then, doubt returned.

These legendary Pokémon didn't look like creatures any human could command.

Maybe a truly powerful trainer could — but Logan?

Barely three or four months into his journey?

Could he really command wtwo's loyalty?

Maybe wtwo wouldn't care if its trainer lived or died.

But Green underestimated the bond between wtwo and Logan.

When it heard her cry, the Pokémon once infamous for its cold, brutal heart was jolted back to clarity.

In the heat of battle, rage had blinded it.

But now, wtwo extended its senses, felt Logan's dire condition… and its expression darkened.

Ignoring the wary w before it, wtwo dissolved into violet light and, in a flash, returned to the Master Ball lying on the ground at Green's feet.

"So smart… it even knew to go back into its ball on its own!"

Green stared, stunned, barely a ter away.

A Pokémon with this level of thought and judgnt was truly rare.

If she knew wtwo could speak directly to Logan, she'd be even more astonished.

"w?"

A soft, catlike sound broke the mont.

To anyone else it might have seed adorable — but to Green, it was like a death knell.

Her neck creaked painfully as she turned.

Ten ters ahead floated a creature, pink-white and impossibly cute, staring at her with wary, puzzled eyes.

Its body trembled, sides heaving with ragged breaths.

Though it bore no visible wounds — thanks to its ability Recover — Green could tell w was deeply exhausted.

But she didn't fool herself into thinking this was a chance.

Even in this weakened state, w was still a force of legend.

She didn't dare send out her Pokémon.

One twitch of w's will, and they'd be annihilated.

Carefully, Green stepped forward, picked up the Master Ball, and forced a hopeful smile.

Palms pressed together, she pleaded:

"Um… wtwo? Sir? Miss? Great wtwo? Could you please co out and help scare this w away?"

Inside the Master Ball, soaking in genetic stabilizing fluid, wtwo didn't even bother to open its eyes.

To wtwo, her desperate, trembling voice was as insignificant as grass rustling in the wind.

Though it made no sound, Green sohow understood its aning:

If it erged now, Logan's body might truly break.

So please — you're on your own.

Like trainer, like Pokémon! I just saved your trainer, and this is how you repay ?!

Green seethed, grinding her teeth.

And that infuriating man — Logan!

She had risked everything to save him, and he still dared mock her.

What kind of karmic debt was this?

Why had she risked her life for him?

Better to have let him die!

But regret was pointless now.

She stood frozen, caught in w's gaze.

Her fate no longer her own.

If w decided to attack, she had no hope.

All she could do was pray.

Yet even then, the sharp-minded girl couldn't help but discreetly lift her cara, snapping photos.

Pictures of a legendary Pokémon at such close range… surely those would fetch a high price.

What's wrong with ?

Even facing death, she found herself thinking about money.

"w?"

w's small body curled back, retreating slightly.

Its childlike eyes darted nervously to the Master Ball in Green's hand.

Seeing that wtwo did not reappear, it seed to relax.

In an instant, it turned into a streak of pink light — and fled.

"Hah—"

Green finally exhaled, collapsing to her knees, chest heaving.

Sweat dripped from every pore, soaking her clothes.

She was just fifteen, still full of life, still with unfinished goals.

She didn't want to die here — not like this.

Thank goodness… this w seems gentle by nature. And from that fearful look, it must've been terrified by wtwo's ferocity.

Clutching the Master Ball tightly, Green pushed herself to her feet and ran back toward Logan.

Never again…

If that hateful man wants to die so badly, let him!
