Though actually, this was perfect. It ant he could save using Dragon Dance for later, no cooldown needed.
All those dungeon runs where John had deliberately avoided catching a Rayquaza? It was precisely because he’d been worried about getting one that didn’t know Dragon Dance yet.
"I ca fully prepared for this," John declared confidently.
He raised his hand and commanded: "Trick Room!"
A pale purple Plate materialized before ga Gardevoir, the Mind Plate, representing Psychic-type power.
With the Plate’s energy enhancent, every Pokemon caught within Trick Room had their speed dramatically reduced, all of it transferred directly onto ga Gardevoir instead.
"Queen’s Grasp!" John raised his finger, deciding it was ti to unleash the ultimate move.
Reconnaissance phase was over. Ti to finish this in one decisive strike.
ga Shiny Rayquaza, which had been "swimming" through the sky with absolute freedom, suddenly felt itself getting locked down.
Not by soone’s gaze, by space and ti itself. Invisible shackles bound it in the heavens, making movent nearly impossible!
The mont it realized it was trapped, ga Shiny Rayquaza flew into a rage! Furious flas burned in those golden eyes!
The sky represented freedom! The whole reason Flying-types took to the air in the first place was to escape the earth’s constraints!
As the ruler of the skies, as the deity of all Flying-type Pokemon, being restrained in its own domain by an opponent was an unbearable insult to Rayquaza!

ga Shiny Rayquaza scread in fury!
Its black-and-gold body trembled violently in the sky, a sign of it struggling with every ounce of strength it possessed. Tiny fractures began appearing in the surrounding space. Even frozen ti showed faint signs of distortion and recovery.
This feeling... John rembered it well from when he’d faced wtwo.
wtwo was a top-tier Psychic-type legendary. If you couldn’t deal with its Teleport spam and Future Sight precognition, forget about beating it, you couldn’t even land a hit. The frustration wasn’t that it was hard to beat. It was the hopeless feeling that victory was impossible from the very start.
For reference, just look at John’s own ga Gardevoir.
But right now, Shiny Rayquaza’s response seed to be telling John sothing important: when facing top-tier Psychic legendaries like wtwo, there was really only one viable strategy.
Overwhelm them with pure, raw power!

John felt the aura power within him surge forth. Because of their bond, he channeled all of his aura energy directly into ga Gardevoir. Simultaneously, the three treasure orbs within his body activated at maximum output, absorbing energy from the surroundings and funneling it all to her.
With John’s aura supporting her, Queen’s Grasp could be maintained!
Despite ga Shiny Rayquaza’s desperate struggles, two massive hands erged from the spatial rifts. Not leisurely and overwhelming like previous uses, these hands slamd shut urgently, gripping tight with brutal force!
BOOM!
An explosion shook heaven and earth.
The Sky Pillar that ga Shiny Rayquaza had desperately tried to protect was instantly reduced to ash and scattered on the wind.
Though this was only the ga world. Next ti John entered, everything would reset to normal.
John’s eyes remained locked on the explosion’s epicenter, his hands resting on Pokeballs at his waist, never relaxing for even a mont. His Gaboy still hadn’t displayed the victory ssage confirming he’d defeated ga Shiny Rayquaza, which ant his opponent still had fight left in it.
A shadow burst from the smoke and dust.
ga Rayquaza still hadn’t reverted from its ga Evolution!
Sure enough, just before ga Rayquaza was about to crash into the sea, the golden light on its body suddenly flared brilliantly. The black coloring seed to be peeling away, replaced entirely by shining gold.
In the sky, the blazing sun seed to resonate with ga Rayquaza’s roar, crowning it with one final halo of glory!
ROOOOOAR!!!
ga Rayquaza bellowed from ten thousand ters up, reversing direction. It transford itself into an arrow that pierced through dinsions, hurtling straight toward ga Gardevoir!
Although Dragon Ascent was a Flying-type move, which ant it couldn’t damage ga Gardevoir equipped with the Sky Plate, the plate could only block Flying-type energy damage. The sheer kinetic energy and montum of ga Rayquaza diving from such extre altitude was a terrifying physical attack that couldn’t be ignored.
John had no intention of holding back anymore. He threw five Pokeballs in rapid succession.
"Giratina, distort space! Open the gateway to the Distortion World!"
"Greninja, Double Team! Ultimate Spiral Water Shuriken barrage!"
"Tyranitar, Aggron, tagross! SupreContinental Crush!"
