Outside the Hoenn map.
A small island blanketed in Liechi Berries and veiled by a constant white mist floated before John.
This ti, he didn’t wait for Lugia’s grand entrance. Instead, he sent Zoroark ahead to trigger an illusion from a distance. Riding on Latias’ Surf, they glided smoothly toward the island’s shore.
Snap!
John snapped his fingers. Gardevoir appeared from her Pokebal, holding an Ancient Adamant Orb.
The power of ti rippled outward.
The island, once unreachable, revealed itself like a veil being lifted. Frozen peaks and shimring mist dissolved into clarity, and John stepped onto solid ground.
"Scout the island with Psychic," he ordered. "Stay hidden. Don’t interfere."
Gardevoir ga Evolved instantly. A faint purple haze of Psychic spread from her body, thin as smoke and nearly invisible. Within monts, the psychic wave faded into the air.
The information she gathered flowed straight into John’s mind.
The island’s structure was simple, no hidden caverns, no ruins, just wild beauty. What drew John’s attention wasn’t the terrain, but the overwhelming energy radiating from the countless Gracidea Flowers, and the life signatures clustered around them.
"Thirty-five Shaymin... seventy-eight Celebi?" he muttered, blinking.
That couldn’t be right.
Last ti he was here, he’d only t a handful of each. Even if they’d been breeding nonstop since then, this number was absurd.
"Did they host a family reunion while I was gone?" he grumbled under his breath.
Still, sothing about it didn’t sit right.
"Let’s go find out."
He advanced with ga Gardevoir and Zoroark.
After only a few steps, a small erald-green figure darted from the distance, leaving streaks of light in its wake.
’Who are you? Why do you carry the aura of a god?’ a gentle voice echoed in John’s mind.
It was a Celebi.
The Ti Traveler floated before him, eyes curious and glowing faintly. Its gaze moved from John to Gardevoir, and lingered there.
John froze. Zoroark’s illusion was actually detected?
Even stranger, ga Gardevoir hadn’t picked it up through Psychic. That ant this Celebi’s psychic power was equal, or even superior, to hers.
Then John noticed the glowing tag above its head:
[LV 98]
His jaw slackened.
"That explains it," he muttered. So legendaries he’d encountered weren’t even that high. Once a Pokemon reached [LV. 90], each level beca a massive leap. This Celebi wasn’t just powerful, it was likely the guardian or "monarch" of the island.
No wonder it slipped through detection.
And that "aura of God" it ntioned...
John snapped his fingers. "Drop it, Zoroark."
The illusion shimred and vanished. Since they’d been exposed, hiding was pointless.
"That’s what you an, right?" he said, nodding toward ga Gardevoir.
Gardevoir raised the Ancient Adamant Orb. The faint blue light of temporal energy pulsed within it.
Apart from Arceus, the creator of the world, and Dialga, ruler of ti, John couldn’t imagine anyone else Celebi would refer to as "God."
Celebi’s eyes widened in awe. It flew around Gardevoir excitedly, well, around the Orb, to be exact.
"Are you the ssengers of God?" Celebi asked, tilting its head in wonder.
It could feel Dialga’s essence radiating from Gardevoir, and even John’s presence carried traces of ancient, divine energy.
John blinked, surprised. "Dialga has ssengers now?"
Before he could say another word, Celebi nodded vigorously, fully convincing itself. Its flight grew even more energetic.
’Who are you talking to?’
Another voice chid from afar.
A white, foxlike Pokemon approached, Shaymin (Sky For), its small wings fluttering beside its ears.
’My friends are all waiting! The Thanksgiving celebration is about to begin!’ Shaymin said cheerfully, but its sharp green eyes studied John carefully.
’He’s the ssenger of God!’ Celebi replied proudly before John could open his mouth.
Shaymin blinked, clearly skeptical, until it spotted the Ancient Adamant Orb glowing faintly in Gardevoir’s hands. Its suspicion quickly turned into astonishnt.
Without hesitation, Celebi grabbed John’s hand. ’Co! You must join us!’
John barely had ti to react before being dragged through a thicket. ga Gardevoir and Zoroark followed closely behind, exchanging silent looks of concern.
They erged into a breathtaking adow bursting with Gracidea in full bloom.
Last ti, Gardevoir couldn’t determine whether these flowers were legendary-grade through Psychic. But now, standing among them, John could feel their energy coursing through the air.
Thousands of flowers glowed softly under the light. Not all were special, but hundreds radiated unmistakable divine energy.
"The number’s even higher than before," John whispered, stunned.
All around him, hundreds of Land For Shaymin frolicked in the fields, their tiny bodies darting through the blossoms like gusts of wind rippling across a grassy sea. Above, dozens, no, hundreds, of Celebi sparkled in flight, leaving trails of green light as they danced.
It was the sa garden John once visited, only now, it pulsed with life.
Then, from the eastern sky, a powerful beam of light broke through the clouds.
A chi, soft and lodic, like Christmas bells, rang through the air.
Ding-ling-ling~
Celebi nodded excitedly, clutching John’s hand.
’Co, ssenger of God! You must witness the Thanksgiving of the Shaymin!’
Her cheerful voice echoed in his mind as she pulled him forward into the glowing light.
’Here we go~’
