As the strongest Champion-level Pokémon in this secret realm and the leader of its tribe, Kingambit had several children.

This Pawniard was one of them.

However, compared to its siblings, it was lacking in both strength and talent. The only thing it had going for it was its perseverance.

The Pawniard tribe consisted of battle enthusiasts, with a deep-seated admiration for strength ingrained in their very bones.

This resulted in stronger Pawniard or Bisharp often receiving more food and resources.

As a child of Kingambit, its father was the strongest in the entire tribe, but it did not receive any special treatnt because of its status.

On the contrary, because of its identity, more Pawniard saw it as a challenge. Defeating it brought far more honor than defeating any other Pawniard.

Faced with constant challenges, it rarely erged victorious.

Yet its siblings defeated challenger after challenger.

It was too weak, so weak that even its father looked down upon it.

But it never gave up and still idolized its father—the undefeated protector of the entire tribe.

Yet, just a few days ago, its father, who seed like a war god, was easily defeated. Not once, not twice, but three tis.

tagross, Moltres, and Gengar.

That demon-like human used three Pokémon to defeat its father with absolute superiority.

At that mont, it realized how weak its father truly was in the face of real power—just like itself.

When that human extended an invitation, its father did not accept.

Coming to find Julian, it simply wanted to defeat Julian to prove to its father that, as its child, it hadn't brought sha upon it.

Unfortunately, its mission ended before it even began. It was severely injured the mont it arrived, struck by a tail.

Finally, relying on its perseverance to reach Julian, it was kicked unconscious by him.

The extre weakness in its body made it feel as if death was near.

Perhaps that was for the best. After all, living was too tiring for it, but it was a pity that it had yet to prove itself to its father.

After a period of darkness, Pawniard slowly opened its eyes.

The first thing it saw was a massive dog face.

It seed this was the very dog face that had bitten it, nearly ending its life.

Snapping back to reality, Pawniard slashed at Arcanine's face, but it couldn't even cut a single strand of fur. Its blade was imdiately pinned to the ground by Arcanine's paw.

No matter how much it struggled, the paw pressing down on it felt as heavy as a mountain. In fact, because of its struggles, the paw pressed down even harder, sinking its body further into the ground.

The sound of its bones groaning under the pressure filled the air, and excruciating pain darkened its vision. Yet even so, it didn't let out a single cry of agony.

"Are you mute or sothing?"

Julian walked over and motioned for Arcanine to release it.

As soon as Arcanine let go, Pawniard lunged at Julian again.

But its body was quickly restrained by tagross.

tagross looked at Julian. "Just kill it."

Pawniard had shown intent to kill Julian twice now, sothing Julian's Pokémon couldn't tolerate. tagross's suggestion received unanimous approval from all the Pokémon.

Aggron had already opened its mouth, gesturing for tagross to toss Pawniard in so it could make a quick snack out of it—a nice little treat.

"You want to kill to prove to your father that you're not weak, don't you?"

Julian approached Pawniard. He understood its thoughts perfectly, clearer than Pawniard itself.

In the outside world, this was the classic rebellious-child storyline: a son goes out to prove his worth to his parents, fantasizing about becoming a powerful figure and returning ho in glory, only to get scamd out of all his money the mont he steps out of the train station.

That was exactly Pawniard's situation now.

Pawniard stared at Julian in shock, as if asking how he knew what it was thinking.

"If that's the case, just nod."

Pawniard remained silent for a mont, then nodded.

Julian continued, "Defeating doesn't prove anything. Even defeating my Pokémon wouldn't prove anything."

Pawniard was confused. Why wouldn't defeating Julian or his Pokémon prove anything to its father?

"If you want to prove sothing to your father, there's only one thing you need to do. As long as you accomplish that, your father will definitely acknowledge you," Julian said with a serious and solemn expression.

As soone who had defeated its father three tis, Pawniard trusted his words completely. It believed such a powerful figure would never stoop to lying.

So it eagerly asked, "What is it?"

"Of course, it's to defeat your father."

"Whether you defeat or tagross to prove sothing to your father, nothing would be more shocking and effective than defeating your father itself."

"When a child defeats their father, it signifies they have truly grown up."

"Don't you think so, Pawniard?"

Julian's words were like a thunderclap, leaving Pawniard's mind reeling.

Defeat its own father—why had it never thought of that before?

Julian's words made perfect sense, but it had always considered its father too powerful.

Even though its father had been defeated three tis by Julian, Pawniard had focused on defeating Julian—soone even stronger than its father—rather than on defeating its father.

The main reason was that its father's strength was deeply ingrained in its heart. Even after being defeated by Julian, that sense of power didn't vanish with just one or two losses.

Now Julian's words struck like lightning, shattering its inner barriers.

"But I can't defeat him."

The fierce light in Pawniard's eyes suddenly dimd.

It knew all too well that no matter how hard it tried, it would never be able to defeat its father in this lifeti—it might not even stand a chance against its siblings.

This dream was nothing but a fantasy.

"I can help you," Julian said, looking at it.

tagross: 'The fox has finally revealed its tail.'

"You?"

Pawniard looked at Julian in confusion.

"Zekrom, Reshiram."

Julian didn't say anything more but released Zekrom and Reshiram.

The unique pressure of a First-class Legendary made Pawniard feel as if its soul was freezing.

But the pressure ca and went just as quickly.

Just as Pawniard thought it was about to die, the pressure suddenly disappeared.

"Who are they?"

Pawniard's pupils dilated. Even though it wasn't afraid of death, in that mont, it had felt genuine fear.

That fear wasn't sothing willpower could overco. It was an instinctive fear ingrained in its very body—sothing no amount of determination could counteract.

First-class Legendaries naturally exerted overwhelming pressure on Pokémon of lower tiers. Even tagross couldn't withstand it, let alone Pawniard.
