Henry’s childhood sweetheart had gone in a vegetative state, aning her brain had been damaged. No wonder even with the Walker family’s resources, they hadn’t been able to wake her.
The brain had always been one of the most mysterious fields. Once damaged, it beca an extrely troubleso matter.
Soone once joked that if you removed a piece of soone’s brain, there would be three possible outcos:
1. Instant death.
2. Paralysis.
3. Becoming an unparalleled genius.
Even now, with the help of Pokémon, humanity hadn't made much progress in researching the brain.
Julian browsed through the system shop.
He was looking for dicines that could treat brain injuries—and the shop did have so.
[Healing Flower: Treats minor brain injuries — 50,000 points.]
[Healing Seed: Treats moderate brain injuries — 100,000 points.]
[Healing Water: Treats severe brain injuries — 200,000 points.]
The above three were dicines for treating Pokémon brain injuries.
The next three were for treating human brain injuries:
[Neuro Pill: Treats minor brain injury — 1,000 points.]
[Neuro Capsule: Treats moderate brain injury — 2,000 points.]
[Neuro Elixir: Treats severe brain injury — 3,000 points.]
Hmm… quite perfunctory.
In the system shop, anything related to Pokémon—be it Pokéblocks, dicine, evolution stones, or training tools—was extrely expensive.
But for human-use items? Dirt cheap.
For example, a Pokémon toothbrush cost 100 points each.
A human toothbrush? 1 point for a hundred.
The difference was just absurd.
And looking at the brain injury dicines above, the disparity was obvious—completely night and day.
Also, the dicines for humans and Pokémon were separate. If an item could be used by both, the price would follow the Pokémon standard.
Like the rare Glossy Ganoderma Julian had been searching for.
That thing was usable by both humans and Pokémon. In fact, many rare treasures were the sa—which really gave Julian a headache.
"Auntie, if I cure Uncle’s childhood sweetheart, do you think their kid will try to fight over family inheritance?"
Julian’s brain worked in strange ways—that was the first thing he thought of.
Quinn assud he was just joking and laughed.
"If he really tries to fight you for the family fortune, I’ll stand by your side."
"He wouldn’t stand a chance against anyway." Julian grinned.
Realistically, as long as he kept growing, it was only a matter of ti before his personal influence surpassed even the vast Walker family fortune.
"Alright, I’m going to find Uncle."
Julian got up from Arcanine’s back.
"What for?" Quinn asked, puzzled.
"Obviously to give him the dicine for his childhood sweetheart," Julian said matter-of-factly.
With that, he headed toward the swimming pool, where his uncle and father were taking a swim.
Quinn froze for a mont before snapping back to reality and chasing after him.
"Julian, wait—you weren’t joking just now?"
"Auntie, who said I was joking?"
Julian rolled his eyes—it was just 3,000 points.
If he had known earlier, he would’ve cured that woman long ago.
'Uncle should’ve said sothing sooner.'
Julian and Quinn arrived at the poolside, where Henry and Jake were competing to see who could hold their breath underwater longer, with Slowking acting as the referee.
"Slowking, how long has it been?" Julian asked.
"Slow~"
Slowking: "Sixty-five seconds."
No stopwatch was needed—Slowking's brain was the most precise tir.
At eighty seconds, Jake couldn’t hold it any longer and burst out of the water.
Henry held out until 90 seconds.
"Little Brother, still can’t beat , huh? Since we were kids, you’ve never won this." Henry smirked triumphantly.
"Doesn’t count! I didn’t take a deep breath this ti—let’s go again!" Jake retorted angrily.
"How does it not count? You’re just being a sore loser!"
"So what if I am? Unless we do it again, I won’t accept the result!"
Jake had fully embraced his inner child, wearing a "What are you gonna do about it?" expression.
Henry suddenly pushed his palm forward, splashing a huge wave right into Jake’s face.
One was the head of the Walker Group, overseeing trillions in capital and nearly a million employees.
The other was the Steel-type Elite, ranked first on the Elite leaderboard.
Yet here they were, squabbling over a breath-holding contest like a pair of kids—this would definitely make headlines if it got out—and provide endless amusent for netizens.
Julian didn’t interrupt them.
Neither did Quinn.
In the end, Jake surrendered, finally ending their splash battle.
"Your own father gets bullied, and you just stand there watching? What kind of son are you?!" Jake glared at Julian.
'Ungrateful brat!'
"Julian is closer to anyway," Henry said with a proud grin.
"Bullshit! He’s MY son!" Jake snapped.
"So what? I’m his uncle—I can give him a hundred billion. Can you?"
"Uncle, you’re the best!"
Julian gave him a big thumbs-up.
Honestly, when it ca to money, his uncle would give him whatever he wanted.
"I can too!"
Jake shot his son a dirty look—'Whose side are you on, you little traitor?'
"But I can block you," Henry added with a laugh.
"You—"
Jake was fuming now.
'So shaless. No wonder he beca a businessman.'
For the Walker Group, though the entire empire technically belonged to John Walker, all core family mbers could access a hundred billion in funds.
But it had to be approved by Henry, the current head.
If Henry refused, Jake could only access 99.9 billion—unless John agreed instead.
The massive Walker Group existed largely because of John's influence.
But even without him now, both Jake and Julian had the capability to uphold the Walker Group's legacy, ensuring it wouldn’t beco easy prey for outsiders.
"I don’t want to talk to you anymore. I’m leaving."
Jake huffed and stord off from the pool.
"Look at your brother—and your dad—acting like a little kid." Henry clicked his tongue, though his face betrayed a smug satisfaction.
"Co on, Julian, swim a few laps with your uncle."
"No thanks, Uncle."
Julian shook his head, then pulled out a small wooden box from his pocket.
"What’s this? A gift for your uncle?"
"Sothing like that."
"Tsk tsk, Julian got a gift. Unlike a certain soone who’s his father but didn't get anything."
Henry took the box and deliberately raised his voice toward Jake’s retreating back.
Jake: 'That unfilial brat!'
Julian: 'Do you really have to be like this?'
"What’s inside?"
Since his hands were still wet, Henry didn’t open it imdiately.
"Nothing much. Just a little sothing to treat Auntie. If she takes it, she should wake up."
Silence.
Five minutes passed.
"Julian… you're not lying to , are you?"
Henry’s voice was slightly hoarse, his hands trembling as they clutched the box.
"Uncle, trust ." Julian’s expression was completely serious.
He understood how his uncle must be feeling.
Every possible thod had been tried, yet his childhood sweetheart never woke. And now, out of nowhere, he was being handed a box with a pill that supposedly could cure her.
If it weren’t his own nephew saying this, Henry might have already thrown the box right in his face.
