The weather today was perfect—the sun hung high in the sky, and the temperature was just right. Riding on the back of Moltres, Julian held the Dowsing Machine in his hand, watching the red dots displayed on its screen.
'This one’s too small.'
'Nah, not this one either.'
'This one… might be worth checking out.'
Finally spotting a promising red dot, Julian pointed and said, "Head east."
Moltres nodded and imdiately changed direction.
But as Julian saw himself getting farther and farther away from the red dot, his expression turned strange—he’d forgotten that this bird had no sense of direction.
Watching Moltres fly confidently in what it believed was east, Julian sighed and pointed to the left.
“East is that way.”
Moltres froze for a second: "You could’ve said sothing earlier! I thought I was right this ti!"
Julian suddenly missed the days when Moltres wasn’t his Pokémon. Back then, if it had acted like this, he would’ve smacked it across the head without hesitation.
But not anymore. It was his Pokémon now—his responsibility.
If it ssed up, he could only endure it.
About ten minutes later, Julian arrived above the marked location. The ground below showed clear signs of a battle.
It was worth noting that Ula’ula Island at this point had almost no Pokémon at the Elite level—because most of the Elite Pokémon had already been captured by trainers from Anglia and Wyvernia.
The entire island bore traces of intense fighting. From high up, one could see occasional bald patches in the dense forest, as if a chunk had been blown clean off.
After landing, Julian followed the Dowsing Machine’s guidance to a half-ter-tall boulder, its surface riddled with cracks.
“tagross.”
Julian called out.
With a single punch, tagross shattered the rock—revealing a small orb that rolled to Julian’s feet.
“Just as I thought, an Elental Orb.”
Julian picked up the Ground Orb and muttered to himself.
Judging by the size of the red dot—which was smaller than those that marked Ultimate treasures—his guess, based on previous experience, was that it was likely an elental orb.
Just as Julian was about to leave the area—
"ta!"
"Mol!"
Moltres and tagross suddenly gave simultaneous warning signals.
"Hm?"
Julian looked up—and saw a massive wooden hamr, nearly a kiloter wide, crashing down toward him. The attack’s range was so vast that even if Julian had eight legs, he couldn’t run out of its range.
But Julian didn’t panic. As Moltres unleashed a furious Flathrower, the massive wooden hamr halted mid-air.
The two forces clashed and held for a mont in the sky before the flas erupted and overwheld the hamr, reducing it to splinters.
“BULU!”
As the hamr was shattered, the Pokémon that had launched the ambush revealed itself above Julian—
It was none other than Tapu Bulu, the guardian deity of Ula’ula Island.
At this mont, however, the opponent was clearly furious. That wave of anger in its aura made Julian frown—he had no idea how he had provoked Tapu Bulu to make it this angry, to the point it would even ambush him.

---
A pseudo-Champion late-stage Tapu Bulu—and currently in a state of uncontrollable fury.
"Tapu Bulu, is there so misunderstanding here?"
Julian didn’t believe that just taking the Ground Orb would make Tapu Bulu this furious. A guardian deity wouldn’t be so petty.
After all, Tapu Lele had even 'gifted' him a Fire-type Ultimate Treasure.
“BULU!”
But Tapu Bulu, in its rage, had no interest in hearing Julian out. With a sweep of its arm—another set of ten wooden hamrs materialized in the air.
This ti, however, the hamrs were much smaller than before, only a dozen ters wide. But their energy was far more condensed, almost solid.
Julian’s expression darkened—he wasn’t a good tempered man either.
He hadn’t provoked Tapu Bulu, yet it ambushed him, refused to explain what the problem was, and now attacked again?
"tagross—teor Mash!"
His voice, laced with anger, reached tagross.
The solidified wooden hamrs clashed with teor Mash, and the resulting impact caused a violent explosion. Both tagross and Tapu Bulu were knocked back nearly a hundred ters.
Neither side had the upper hand.
“tagross, ga Evolve.”
Julian didn’t hesitate. Facing a late-stage pseudo-Champion like Tapu Bulu, it would take considerable ti to defeat it with tagross’s current level.
With ga Evolution, tagross’s level rose from 78 to 80, reaching Elite peak.
Although ga tagross still hadn’t broken through to pseudo-Champion, one must not forget—at its level, even just a two-level increase ant far more than a simple nurical boost in strength.
When Tapu Bulu saw tagross’s sudden transformation, it froze briefly in surprise. This was likely its first ti seeing ga Evolution.
“Once I knock you flat, maybe you’ll talk properly.”
Julian stared coldly at Tapu Bulu.
As his words fell, ga tagross used Teleport to instantly appear right in front of Tapu Bulu—then smashed it in the face with a point-blank teor Mash.
With a deafening boom, Tapu Bulu was sent crashing into the ground. But even as it was sent flying, a green seed shot out and struck ga tagross.
The seed quickly took root, sprouting vines that coiled around ga tagross’ body.
As Tapu Bulu was slamd into the ground by ga tagross, Moltres swooped low. Julian leaped up, grabbing onto its leg before flipping onto its back.
Imdiately after, the ground below began to tremble and shatter, with large chunks of rock flying up into the air.
"Bulu...!"
Tapu Bulu burst out from beneath the ground, its eyes locked onto ga tagross, now treating its opponent with far more caution.
The Leech Seed embedded on ga tagross was steadily draining its stamina—feeding it back to Tapu Bulu.
But the drain was minimal for ga tagross, especially since it was holding a Blacklight Core, which allowed it to regenerate stamina under sunlight.
And today’s weather was perfectly clear.
“tagross, Gyro Ball,” Julian ordered.
ga tagross brought its claws together and began spinning rapidly. As it spun faster and faster, the resulting centrifugal force threw off the vines entangling its body.
A miniature tornado ford around it.
Tapu Bulu retaliated by summoning a storm of razor-edged leaves—not Razor Leaf, but Leafage.
Yet every single leaf was shredded into dust by the whirling Gyro Ball.
Faced with the unstoppable spinning assault, Tapu Bulu retreated into its shell, bracing for impact.
Screeeeech—!!
The collision produced an ear-splitting tallic shriek, so piercing that Julian had to block his ears with psychic energy.
Otherwise, his eardrums would have ruptured.
