Even soone like Jake had been trapped in a Top-tier secret realm for a whole year, and only five out of twenty people who went in ca out. This shows how dangerous a Top-tier secret realm is.
This ti, Julian was going in, and to be honest, John had already prepared for the worst.
Because a Top-tier secret realm was not on the sa level as an Advanced-level secret realm at all.
And Julian could bring a bodyguard Pokémon into the Advanced-level secret realm, and even in a Top-tier one, it's usually allowed.
It's just that in this particular Top-tier secret realm he couldn't.
Enemy nation trainers, the Pokémon inside the secret realm, and various unknown dangers.
All of these together made it even more dangerous than an ordinary Top-tier secret realm.
But he didn’t stop Julian. As a Champion, John understood better than anyone the dangers a professional trainer must face to grow.
If he stopped Julian just because the Top-tier secret realm was too dangerous, then in the future he would also stop him from doing other dangerous things.
If that happened, Julian’s path as a professional trainer would never go far.
Julian: 'Grandpa, you're overthinking. Even if I don't enter this secret realm, I will still beco a champion.'
He already had four Pokémon with purple-grade potential, and with the Walker family’s resources and his own “cheats,” becoming a Champion was practically guaranteed.
The main reason he chose to enter the Top-tier secret realm was actually because he’d never been in one before. Now that he had the chance, of course he wouldn’t refuse.
Moreover, the gains from a Top-tier secret realm were surely considerable, which would shorten the ti it would take him to beco a Champion.
“My dear grandson, don’t forget what I said.”
Just as Julian and the others were about to step into the secret realm’s gate, John spoke.
At this mont, this tough old man’s face showed only worry for his grandson.
“Don’t worry, Grandpa. Even if they all die, I won’t die,” Julian said with a smile.
Rowan, Ember and the others beside him couldn’t help but glare at Julian when they heard this.
'Can’t you say sothing good? If you can’t, then just shut your mouth.'
And what John had actually told him was to not trust anyone, not even Rowan and the others. He had to stay alert.
Julian understood all of it.
Love, friendship, family—these things were jokes in the face of great benefits.
For the sake of so treasure, trainers stabbing each other in the back was all too common.
Even if Rowan and the others ca from wealthy families and most treasures couldn’t tempt them, what if they were faced with a treasure that could make them Champions?
In that case, what should they choose?
Give up the treasure and let soone else beco a future Champion?
Or seize the treasure?
The human heart is the most vulnerable thing.
And even though the five of them were teammates, they didn't actually have a deep relationship, they were basically temporary teammates, which made it even harder to withstand the temptation.
However, given the bond between Rowan and Asher, they should be able to withstand such trials.
Rowan, Asher: [?_??]
The first countries to enter the Top-tier secret realm was Drakoria, followed by Celestria.
As Julian and the other four held hands and stepped through the portal into the secret realm—
The very next second, Julian felt a strong sense of falling.
When he looked around, his face darkened.
They were teleported straight into mid-air, with a vast forest below—at least several hundred ters down.
'Starting off this wild, huh.'
It takes maybe about a dozen seconds to fall from a few hundred ters at most. That’s enough ti to throw out a Pokémon, sure, but you’re still falling—if you panic or hesitate even for a second, you’re done for.
Still, for professional Trainers, this was a minor issue.
Pierce and the others were about to release their Pokémon, only to suddenly realize that they were no longer falling.
Julian had used his Psychic power to stop all five of them mid-fall.
Once they landed, Ember batted her eyelashes at Julian and teased, “Little Brother Julian, are you sure you won’t reconsider ? A life-saving favor should be repaid with... sothing special.”
Julian: “I prefer soone my age.”
He was already used to Ember’s teasing.
“Alright, let’s hurry up and release our Pokémon.”
Ember was about to get mad—after all, nothing annoyed a woman more than soone ntioning her age—but after hearing Pierce speak, she gave Julian a glare and imdiately released her Pokémon.
In an unfamiliar environnt like this, it really did feel unsafe not having a Pokémon by your side.
Julian: tagross
Ember: Blaziken
Rowan: Abomasnow
Pierce: Regirock
Asher: Salance
All of them had sent out their ace Pokémon.
The next second, Ember and the others, along with their Pokémon, turned to stare at tagross with a look of disbelief.
“Late-stage Elite?”
Asher, who possessed the power of Dragon Heart, widened his eyes.
They could all sense tagross's aura—clearly Elite level—but none of them expected it to be late-stage.
Ember had originally guessed it might be mid-Elite at most.
“Seriously? It's already late-stage Elite?”
The group looked at Julian.
Julian gave a casual nod.
That only made them even more skeptical—it sounded like complete nonsense.
“Julian, your tagross hasn’t even been at peak of pseudo-Elite for a full year yet. Sure, if it had three or four years to build up its foundation, I could believe it might jump to late-stage Elite after breaking through...”
“...But it's only been less than a year!”
Rowan looked like his eyes were about to pop out.
Most Trainers would let their Pokémon remain at peak pseudo-Elite level for a while to build up their foundation, and that was true for all four of them as well.
The more you accumulate before breaking through, the greater the level jump after evolving.
If a Pokémon advances to the Elite rank without enough buildup, its growth rate slows down drastically afterward.
That’s why many noble family heirs encourage their Pokémon to accumulate as much potential as possible before breaking through. Even the fastest buildup takes at least a year, while so can stretch to three or even four.
Pierce’s Regirock, for instance, had spent two full years accumulating. Ember, Rowan, and Asher’s ace Pokémon each spent three.
Even then, after breaking through from peak pseudo-Elite to Elite, their Pokémon only reached mid-Elite.
Yet Julian’s tagross hadn’t even spent a full year accumulating power, and it still broke straight through to the late-stage.
Even if you dumped massive amounts of resources into it, tagross would still need ti to digest and absorb everything. You can’t just feed it and expect instant results.
“What’s so strange about it? My tagross is just naturally talented,” Julian replied nonchalantly.
Obviously, none of the four believed him. But Julian wasn’t about to explain, and they knew they wouldn’t get anything more out of him either.
tagross was able to reach late-stage Elite so quickly was naturally thanks to the Ti Capsule obtained during the previous temporary mission.
After using it, tagross entered a simulated ti-space where it could train for two virtual years—plenty of ti to fully absorb the lingering energy from the Heart of Arceus and the many high-tier resources Julian had invested.
So in fact, it took tagross almost three full years of accumulation before breaking through.
