Most Mythical and Legendary Pokémon are genderless, such as ltal and Celebi, yet they clearly have populations of their own.

They are indeed genderless, which has led Pokémon scholars to remain uncertain about how they reproduce.

There are, however, several theories:

> So believe that genderless Pokémon are actually hermaphrodites, capable of self-reproduction.

> Another theory suggests they create offspring using their own essence.

> The third theory proposes that so species reproduce through division, similar to how tagross splits to produce Beldum.

As for the idea that genderless Pokémon can breed with male Ditto—this does not hold up in real-world scientific studies.

Julian wasn't the least bit interested in how Celebi’s species reproduced.

However, Quinn, as a scholar, was very eager to know. So she excitedly asked the question.

Celebi: "I have no idea. I never t my parents after I was born, so I don’t know… how to have kids."

Since Quinn couldn’t understand Celebi, Julian acted as a translator and repeated what it said.

Quinn pondered for a mont before speaking slowly:

"There’s another theory out there, since the Celebi species is often called Nature’s Pokémon and serves as the guardian of forests."

"So Pokémon scholars believe that Celebi is born directly from nature itself."

"That would explain why they are often found in forests and mountains."

The idea of natural birth is widely accepted among Pokémon scholars, but there has never been concrete proof to confirm it.

If evidence were ever found, the scholar who proposed the theory would undoubtedly win the Arceus Award.

After spending nearly an entire day in the lab, Quinn had developed a basic understanding of Celebi. However, a deeper study would require a long-term effort.

Especially Celebi’s ability to travel through ti—deciphering that would definitely not happen overnight.

Quinn wanted to keep Celebi in the lab for further study, to persuade it, she even asked Julian about Celebi’s preferences.

But when she learned that it loved fried foods and carbonated drinks, her expression turned strange. She imdiately thought back to the earlier blood sample, where a layer of grease had been floating on top.

Now that she looked at it, it wasn’t just similar to oil—it was oil.

No wonder this Celebi had a little belly, compared to a normal Celebi, this one was definitely fatter.

And that was clearly because of its diet.

Quinn tempted Celebi with daily fried chicken and soda, hoping it would agree to stay in the lab, but Celebi refused decisively without any hesitation.

It didn’t like the environnt here.

And besides, as long as it followed Julian, Celebi could still eat all the fried food and soda it wanted—while staying free and even playing gas with Julian and Slowking.

'Is this woman out of her mind? How could she possibly think she could bribe , Celebi?'

'I, Celebi, have a reputation to uphold!'

So, the next day, Julian left the lab with Celebi, but he promised Quinn that if she ever needed Celebi for research, he would co over imdiately.

---

Sitting on the Flying saddle, Celebi spread its arms wide and sighed in delight: "Ahhh, this is the taste of freedom!"

Looking at the half-eaten chicken leg in Celebi’s hand, Julian mocked: "Isn't that taste a bit too greasy?"

Celebi: "What do you know? I couldn’t even enjoy my drumsticks properly in there, it felt so uncomfortable."

"Right, so yesterday you only ate two whole family buckets?"

Julian deliberately emphasized the "two."

A healthy adult would struggle to finish even one family bucket in one sitting—unless they'd been starving all day.

And yet Celebi managed to eat two.

Not to ntion, those two buckets weren’t even from the research lab’s cafeteria.

Quinn had specifically sent soone out to buy them because Celebi refused to eat the ones from the lab.

Apparently, the cafeteria’s fried chicken didn’t have the sa “flavor” as the outside world.

After all, fast-food fried chicken was made from mass-produced broiler chickens, fried in reused oil with all kinds of chemical additives. Of course, the taste was stronger.

This thing was a lost cause.

Back at Imperial University – Freshman Campus, Villa No.1;

Julian had been gone for about ten days—not too long. But as soon as Dragonite landed in the courtyard, two Swellow suddenly flew out from the large ginkgo tree at the edge of the yard.

(T/N: The ginkgo tree is a large deciduous tree that can grow up to 50-80 feet tall and spread 30-40 feet wide. It is considered a living fossil. The tree is known for its unique fan-shaped leaves, which turn a brilliant yellow in the fall.)

They let out a series of warning cries, glaring at Julian and Dragonite.

Since spring hadn’t arrived yet, the ginkgo tree was still bare, its branches stripped of leaves. That made it easy for Julian to spot a new bird’s nest at the very top of the tree—with a single egg inside.

Clearly, while he’d been away, these two Swellow had claid his yard as uninhabited land and built a nest here to lay their egg.

No matter which city it was, there were plenty of wild Pokémon living in it, like—

- Rattata, Grir, and Ekans lurking in the sewers.

- Various flying-type Pokémon nesting on rooftops.

- owth and Gastly wandering through alleyways.

So of them had even been abandoned by trainers.

Although abandoning Pokémon was illegal, there were still people who did it anyway for various reasons.

These two Swellow in front of him were most likely wild Pokémon.

Wild Pokémon were quite common at Imperial University, and bird Pokémon were especially abundant.

Julian sent out his Aura and spoke softly: "Don't worry, I an no harm."

If the Swellow couple beca too wary or felt that the area was unsafe, there was a high chance they would abandon their egg and move elsewhere to rebuild their nest.

But with Aura radiating from Julian, to the Swellow pair, it was as if Julian had “I’m a good person” written right across his forehead.

Their initial nervousness quickly faded, and they perched back onto the tree branches, curiously observing Julian.

Julian smiled and turned to Dragonite: "Looks like we’ll have two new neighbors for the ti being."

Dragonite let out a big, goofy smile and waved cheerfully at the Swellow couple.

Celebi, however, flew straight up to the egg, hovering close as it looked at it curiously.

Yet, the Swellow couple remained completely calm.

If Julian—who radiated Aura—felt like a "good person" to them,

Then Celebi, as a Pokémon of nature itself, was practically a saint in their eyes.

Let alone looking at the egg, they wouldn’t even mind if Celebi started tossing their egg up and down for fun.

Julian didn’t pay too much attention to the Swellow family or their egg. Instead, he headed inside the villa.

Slowking automatically erged from its Poké Ball, grabbed an apron, and got straight to cleaning.

After all, it had been away for ten days, and so dust had inevitably settled.

"Slowking, keep an eye on the Swellow outside, and let the others know not to scare them."

"Slow~"

Slowking nodded blankly.

It had already noticed the new neighbors while inside its Poké Ball, and to Slowking, that simply ant two more Pokémon to take care of.

anwhile, Julian retrieved Bagon’s egg from his bag, with a glance, the Probing Eyes made it clear that it still needed about five more days to hatch.
