Putting aside the thought that a Legendary might have either been close by or happened to pay enough attention to worldly matters related to its domain at that mont to notice Ignis/Gyarados, I decided to first check out what exactly the blessing did, before telling the others why I had reacted like that.
I honestly had no idea what kind of bonus the other blessings gave, though I could make a guess by referring to the ones granted by the elents, which I'd personally put on the sa level as the Major Legends. Since the blessings of water and aura, each gave their recipients a 25% bonus, that ant that the blessing given by a Minor Legend was most likely below that.
As far as I knew, Volcanion fell into the category of Minor Legendaries, though it was probably amongst the strongest of that group. That being the case, while its blessing might still be from a Minor Legendary, it was probably the highest a regular blessing given by a Minor Legend could go. Well, that was if they did not give a uniform amount.
However, after I took a look at the description, I saw that the blessing gave an overall 15% bonus, so I was inclined to believe that the blessings were all uniform, which would an that it was likely that the blessings of all Minor Legendaries granted a 15% bonus. Maybe they had so kind of Legendary Convention where they decided to set certain rules for blessing and that kind of stuff.
Sothing like that could happen, at least I hoped it was like that since anything below 15% would be a tad disappointing considering that the blessings ca from actual Legendaries. As it stood, Volcanion's blessing was equivalent to the boost granted by the Shiny Gene, which was decent enough.
Anyway, according to the blessing's description, aside from the 15% bonus, the blessing also granted Ignis a basic knowledge of Volcanion's signature move Steam Eruption, allowing him to directly learn the move. A quick look at Ignis' move section confird that.
That was pretty much it. There we no other boons listed in the description, though that sounded a tad bit ungrateful since the ones ntioned were already pretty good considering that this was "simply" a blessing.
Regardless, after getting a picture of what the blessing did, I shared the reason for my actions with Ignis and the others. Currently, that encompassed all our family mbers since the commotion we made attracted everyone's attention.
There was a mont of astounded/unbelieving silence before they broke out in excited cheers and chatter. Hades/Gengar flew up to Ignis' head and settled on his "crown" while welcoming him as the second mber of the Legend Club, since Ignis was now the second mber of our family with a connection to a Legendary, even if their circumstances were not the sa.
Once they had all cald down a bit, questions along the lines of "Why are we hiding inside Utopia? We're missing out on the chance to potentially see/et a real-life Legendary." popped up.
I was man enough to admit to them that I panicked a bit when I saw that we/Ignis had attracted the attention of a Legendary and that one was most likely actively paying attention to us/him at that mont. The first thing I chose to do was retreat sowhere I knew we would be safe regardless of whether Volcanion wanted to do sothing against us or not.
Not that I really thought that Volcanion planned to act against us or anything like that, but at that mont it had been a possibility, even if it was a minuscule one, so I just reacted/acted.
They understood that, but then Horus/Xatu pointed out that I had frozen like a Deerling in front of a Hyper Beam for a few seconds, and that none of the things I was worried about happened during that ti, which proved that Volcanion was not planning to harm us, at least not imdiately since Volcanion could have used that period to do so. That was if Volcanion was even interested in contacting/approaching us in the first place.
Horus threw out the possibility that Volcanion might have automated its blessings by setting a few conditions and that Ignis might have triggered one of them. Regardless of which one it was, either way, it should be safe to go back outside and see how it goes. Worst case scenario, we retreated inside Utopia once more since we already established that Volcanion was not planning to insta-smite us.
I was of a similar belief, but I decided to settle the issue through a vote, so I allowed everyone to vote whether we should stay inside for a while before leaving, or if we should go out right now to investigate whether Volcanion was close by or if it would contact Ignis once we stepped out.
The vote ended up being pretty much unilateral, so I took a deep breath and left Utopia with everyone in tow. We all appeared on the beach and waited to see what would happen. The good news was that we did not get smited.
The less good news was that absolutely nothing happened even after a minute or two. Most of us used our senses to investigate if we could sense anything, but we failed to find anything significant, and Ignis said that there was nothing on his side as well.
After around 5 minutes, the situation began to turn a bit awkward, so I went ahead and declared that it appeared that Volcanion was not planning to grace us with his presence, much to the disappointnt of my Pokemon.
I could feel their genuine disappointnt at that, and I could not help but think about whether they had missed this opportunity because of or if Volcanion was never going to grace us with his presence in the first place. A mont after I thought that, I heard a chuckle reverberate in my mind/head, and from the way my Pokon snapped to attention, I was not the only one.
No further sounds ca after that, and my attempts at locating/following the sound to its source failed. A quick look at my psychics ended in all of them shaking their heads in denial, indicating that they had failed as well.
That did not stop our group from observing the area and waiting to see if there would be a follow-up or not. Due to that, everyone noticed that Ignis seed to be fully focused on sothing since he was sporting a look of full concentration.
So of the more immature/impatient ones tried to address him but were stopped by others, who did not want them to interrupt whatever it was that Ignis was doing. It seed that while Volcanion did not bother with the rest of us, it did address Ignis.
It took close to 5 minutes for Ignis to focus back on this side of the world, and we patiently waited until that very mont. However, as soon as it was clear that Ignis had stopped whatever he was doing, the others directly bombarded him with questions that pretty much boiled down to "Did you just talk with Volcanion?" and "What did Volcanion say?".
Ignis laughed a bit, hearing all those questions, before he admitted that Lord Volcanion had spoken to him. The others expressed their envy when Ignis said that, though it was the next part that was truly envy-worthy.
"Lord Volcanion gave so guidance on the combination of fire and water energy as well as moves," he freely divulged, which explained why Ignis was addressing Volcanion so respectfully.
His declaration caused the others to let out cries of surprise as well as envy, saying how lucky he was and that they hoped to experience sothing like that as well at one point in their lives. Still, most, if not all of my Pokemon were a rather curious bunch, so it did not take long for them to ask Ignis for more details.
"Alright, alright. I know you all are curious, but slow down a bit. I have to relay a ssage to the boss man first," Ignis said with a chuckle, definitely appreciating the chance to tease everyone. His words made everyone quieten down, and they watched as Ignis turned to before he cleared his throat.
"Boss, Lord Volcanion asked to pass on a ssage to you," Ignis said, and I could not help but wonder why Volcanion did not simply talk to instead of passing the ssage through Ignis. "Alright, let's hear it," I told Ignis after shoving my doubts aside, interested in what a Legendary such as Volcanion had to tell .
"Lord Volcanion has given a warning for you. He said that being cautious is good, but being overly cautious is bad since cowardliness limits one's future path," Ignis opened up with what was pretty much an admonition, even if it was a well-aning one.
"Though Lord Volcanion conveyed that He understood that your reaction was mostly due to His legendary nature," Ignis added, and that certainly softened the imaginary blow of the previous admonition since this add-on underlined that Volcanion was truly not calling a coward, but asking to be a bit bolder. Still, it appeared that Ignis was not done yet.
"On the matter of Legendaries, Lord Volcanion wanted to tell you that you don't have to worry about any Legendary acting against you because you are apparently under the divine protection of the highest order," Ignis announced and everyone cried out in shock, excitent, and incredulity.
"So, what's that about boss? Did so of the honored ones adopt you or sothing like that? How can you have so divine protection which according to Lord Volcanion can dissuade all Legendaries from ssing with you?" Ignis asked in disbelief now that he was done with passing on Volcanion's ssage, and everyone looked at , waiting for my answer.
"No idea," I disclosed with a shrug. "I know nothing about any Legendary putting under so divine protection," I freely admitted, which was the truth since I really had no idea about that, and the last ti I checked my status sheet I saw nothing that indicated anything related to so kind of divine protection.
I could not help but wonder if that was related to the "free from trouble until I started my official journey" wish I made before moving here, but I honestly doubted that Volcanion, or any Legendaries for that matter would be able to feel that. Unless, of course, the protection was purposefully set in a way that the Legendaries could feel it.
Well, it was also possible that one of the big shot Legedaries had simply announced that I was under its/his/her protection which would explain why I did not have anything related to it on my status sheet. If that was the case, I would definitely be interested in knowing who chose to safeguard and why, though I really hoped that it was Lady w.
Nonetheless, I had no way to learn more about it unless my silent protector or another Legendary talked to on the matter, so I decided to leave the topic be for now and turned my focus back to Ignis, who seed a bit disappointed that I knew nothing about my mystery protector.
"Please thank Lord Volcanion in my stead for sharing his advice with along with the matter of the protection I apparently enjoy," I requested of Ignis since Volcanion apparently did not plan to directly communicate with , though from Ignis' reaction just now, it seed that I would be unable to ask him about my protector.
"Boss, Lord Volcanion said that you're welco and not to mind it. He also said that He looked forward to our future," Ignis passed on before giving a slightly helpless look.
"He also added that there was no need to try to pry into who the protector is since we'll learn about it if the protector wants us to and not one second before that," Ignis said, before adding that Volcanion cut off the communication after He said that.
