Axel was in a hotel relaxing on a bed. He had been thinking of his next step and had finally co to a decision. It was ti to return to his ho.
Almost a year had passed when he started his journey. A lot of things had happened. He had made connections with Venu family. Made new friends, beca the successor of Oak, and had gotten 2 gym badges. Everything was happening so fast that it scared him a little. It was now ti to rest. He decided to stay ho for a month. He missed his mom, dad, uncle and his little sister. Axel had been with them for the last 13 years. He had frankly started to forget his previous life now. It felt that his previous life was 100s of years ago. Axel had now finally felt that he was a part of this world and it was not just so ga or ani.
He took a quick shower, checked all his Pokeballs and headed out of the hotel. He wanted to check out the Kanto league. The place looked huge. The league competition was out of limits. It would only open once a year. Axel thought to do so shopping for his mother and sister. He can't go empty-handed. He had bought so things for his sister before but since he was returning after such a long ti he wanted to make up for it.
Looking around the shops Axel entered one.
"Hello custor, how may I help you?"
The shop was fairly neat and small. There were selling miscellaneous items like lockets, bracelets, and perfus.
"How much for that Arcanine bracelet?"
"It's 500 Pokedollars."
"Alright, give one of those."
Her sister had started to like Arcanine. Since his dad had one, she had beco very close to it. Axel's sister, Agnes was going to be 7 yrs old now. It was one of the reasons that he wanted to spend a month with his family. He was planning to attend his sister's birthday party. Agnes always made a big deal about her birthday. Axel didn't want to get on her bad side by being absent.
"Hey, did you hear about Prof. Oak?"
"You an Pokemon master Oak?"
"Yes, apparently there is going to be a press conference featuring Prof. Oak?"
"Dude, you are not joking right?"
Everywhere Axel went, he would hear about the press conference of Prof. Oak. The trainers and people were excited. It was very rare for Oak to appear in public. Being a Pokemon master and a world-class researcher, Prof. Oak was famous. Axel decided to watch the press conference out of curiosity.

He went to his hotel room ordered food and started to watch TV. The press conference started with a table full of mikes from the reporters. Shortly after, Oak walked into the stadium and sat on the chair. Nurous flashes of caras could be seen on the TV. The reporters started to get wild.
"Prof. What had you been doing for the past few years?"
"Is it true that you are retiring?"
"Who would be taking your position?"
"Is Red going to take your mantle?"
"Is your...."
"Silence!!", said Oak and that was what happened. Oak was a powerful man. He was a Pokemon master. Pokemon masters were not treated as a king around here. They were treated like a god. Though Oak was old now, he still had a lot of influence.
"It has been a long ti since I have been in public dia. My works make busy and you all know that I don't like the stares. But today I have co to you all for a very important announcent."
"Prof. Oak, can you tell what is this announcent about?", asked one of the reporters.
"Of course, it is about my successor. After a lot of ti, I have finally chosen my 3rd and final successor. His na is Axel Blaze."
"FUCK...", shouted Axel out loud.
"What the hell is he doing? We discussed that he would not tell about it until I am strong enough."
This was what they had decided when Axel was with Oak. Axel was very weak now. Being a successor of Oak brought out a lot of benefits but it also had many risks. But now, Oak had suddenly announced about him. What the hell was going on?
"Prof. Oak, do you think that like your previous 2 successors, Axel would not make it to Pokemon master?", asked one of the reporters.
"Before you ask these questions, let tell you that I chose Axel based on his rit and his talent. As per his statent, he is motivated to beco the Pokemon master. As for the future, I cannot say anything."
"Prof. Oak? Are you talking about the sa Axel blaze that had discovered the new way of Eeveelutions?"
"Yes, he is the one."
"As per our data, Axel doesn't seem to be a powerful trainer but an excellent researcher. Don't you think that choosing him as your successor would be a bit risky?"
"That is not my prob.....
The questions and answers went on for a while and it was still going on. Axel just closed his TV and went to bed. All this news was too much for him to digest. He just wanted today to end. He would think about this fiasco tomorrow.
Little did he know that the world had turned upside down.
