"Cheerrrs...", shouted everyone and the smashing of the glass could be heard.
Axel, Adam, and Angela were celebrating their victory in a pub. It was a small victory for Axel to win his 2nd gym badge but a big step for the Venu family to acquire a gym.
"Axel, I want to thank you for what you did. I know it was not easy. You told that you do not want to be a part of family politics when you joined but you still got dragged into it.", said Angela.
All of them were slightly drunk at this point in ti.
"It's okay Angela. I really don't mind", replied Axel. What was he supposed to say in this situation? That she was right and he would be leaving the family now?
"But it is not okay. I didn't keep my end of the deal", said Angela. It seed like she had much to drink this night.
"Anyway, you got a glimpse of how fearful a gym leader could be. Besides, Renee is still young so she doesn't have much experience.", said Adam.
Axel nodded his head. Though he had to be a part of family politics, he could not deny that he got to fight a gym leader at her best. That was so valuable experience.
"So, how is everything out there in the family? How are A, B and K? Did K start his journey?", Axel asked a bunch of questions.
"Everything is okay. K started his journey after a month when you did. This has changed a lot in young people's minds. Now most of them don't want to be scooped into the family but want to go out and explore. That is a good change in attitude. A and B are also planning to move out. Which reminds , A and B had asked to call them. They didn't have your number."
"Oh yes, I should probably give them a call.", said Axel.
A, B, and K had given their number and told Axel to call him. However, Axel had been very busy when he left the Venu family and he didn't have any ti to call them. He made a ntal note to call them, especially K since he was outside the family now.
"Axel, so are you planning to challenge the 3rd gym?", asked Angela
"No, my Pokemons are not strong enough for it. I was planning to train them again for the next gym badge", said Axel.
"Then I have a perfect plan for you. After 2 days we are selecting 1 mber from the family to venture to a unique island. This island has just been discovered and searched. I want to nominate you. It has been said that this island is the ho of Latias and Latios. If you are lucky you might even catch one of their kids."
"Are you sure? I an you just said that you could only select 1 from the family and I am an outsider. Don't you think other mbers should be given this chance?", said Axel.
Axel didn't know the full story but he sohow knew that this trip was going to be important for the Venu family.
"Axel, you may not think like it but I consider you as a part of my family. Though you are an outsider, everyone, even the elders consider you as a family. You have helped us a lot in the rise of Venu family. So, I feel that you should be given better chance to grow.", said Angela
Axel took a long breath and then said "Ok, I will do it. Thanks for the opportunity."
anwhile, Adam was giving a hypothetical thumb up to Angela for a job well done.
"Good. Adam would tell you the details about it. I am going to sleep. I think I have too much to drink today.", said Angela excusing herself and then going to her room to sleep.
Axel's head automatically turned towards Adam when he saw Angela leaving. "Haha, you look very excited about the trip.", said Adam chugging down another glass of beer.
"Of course I am. I get to go to an unknown island and then catch a legendary Pokemon. I an why wouldn't I be excited?", said Axel
"Alright, hold your horses kid. It is a bit more complicated than that. First of all, let give you the details. The island had been just explored by the explorers. The region has been mapped by them. During their search, they happened to see a Latios and Latias flying over the horizon.
Now, each mber of 3 starter families and 2 mbers from the league are going there and 1 of them would be you. The problem is, people of the Hoenn region are also going to be involved"
"Why is that?", asked Axel
"Island business is a complicated business. There are lots of islands that have not been explored. As you know, 70% of the world is still not explored. So, a new rule is made. Whoever explores the island first would have ownership of the island.
A major discussion is made on who is allowed to explore the island first. There is a lot of politics that goes around there. I don't want to bore you with the details. Anyways, the thing is our Kanto region won the opportunity to explore and own the said island.
However, Latios and Latias were sighted on the island 3 tis by the explorers. They are Legendary Pokemons that represent the Hoenn region. So, after a lot of talking and dispute later, it was decided that 5 young trainers from each region would compete. Those trainers who would win the battle would win the island and also would get to na it."
