After testing, Chris discovered that Jirachi's recent absorption had only consud 1% of the teorite's energy.
Chris made a rough calculation in his mind. If 1% was enough for four days, then a whole teorite would last approximately 400 days—more than a year.
"Is two years enough ti to develop a cosmic energy separation device?" Chris asked Theodore.
"All I can say is I'll try my best," Theodore replied, spreading his hands in a gesture of uncertainty.
"I appreciate it," Chris said with a slight nod.
At the very least, Jirachi's lifespan had been extended by another two years. Even if Chris couldn't locate another teorite within that tifra, he would be much stronger by then. Obtaining another teorite from Deoxys shouldn't prove too difficult at that point.
With a wave of his hand, Chris returned to the manor using near-instantaneous teleportation.
Deoxys would need to remain in the laboratory for a while longer. Its research value extended far beyond just cosmic energy. Both Professor Theodore and Professor Vladimir were particularly fascinated by Deoxys's remarkable regeneration abilities.
If humans could harness such incredible self-healing capabilities, it would benefit not only people but Pokémon as well. At the very least, disabilities could beco a thing of the past, and the costs of procedures like organ transplants would decrease significantly.
After arriving ho, Chris took a long, relaxing bath to wash away the stress that had accumulated over the past several days. He drank a glass of warm milk and then fell into a peaceful sleep.
Chris had been working tirelessly these past few days due to the Jirachi situation. Now that he could finally rest properly, he slept straight through until the following evening. When he woke up and looked out from his balcony, he saw the sun had just begun to set.
"That was a good sleep," Chris said contentedly, stretching his arms wide before heading downstairs.
By this ti, Hariyama should already be preparing dinner.
When Chris reached the dining room, he found Gardevoir and Wanda having dinner together. Tonight's al was noodle soup.
"You're finally awake. I was starting to think I'd have to change our flight tickets," Wanda said with an amused smile.
"Flight tickets?"
"You're going to Sky Island, rember? Are you still half-asleep?"
"Oh, right!" Chris suddenly rembered that the World Pokémon Contest officials had sent him an invitation to Sky Island. He was supposed to accept challenges from other trainers to determine his position among the Eight Masters.
He'd been so preoccupied with Jirachi's situation that he'd completely forgotten about it.
"When are we supposed to leave?"
"The plane departs at 7:30."
"What ti is it now?"
Wanda glanced at her watch. "It's 6:12. There's still one hour and eighteen minutes before takeoff. We could still make it if we left right now."
"One hour and eighteen minutes left? Let's just change the flight to tomorrow," Chris said casually as he accepted a bowl of noodle soup from Hariyama and sat down next to Wanda, digging in eagerly.
"You don't want to go today?" Wanda asked.
"Is there a match scheduled for tomorrow?"
"Not exactly. The World Pokémon Contest officials will wait until you arrive before they arrange any competitions."
"Then tomorrow's fine," Chris said without concern. He raised his hand toward Hariyama and called out, "Could you please bring so garlic cloves?"
Hariyama, who was making soup in the kitchen, used Fling without even turning around. Infused with Aura power, the garlic cloves flew through the air like a guided missile and landed perfectly in Chris's outstretched hand.
"Want so?"
"No thanks."
"Eating noodles without garlic just isn't the sa. The flavor's only half as good," Chris said, shaking his head with mock disappointnt.
"Alright, I'll go change our travel arrangents," Wanda said, setting down her dishes and heading off to make a phone call.
Flights to Sky Island were quite exclusive. Only Elite-level trainers or those ranked in the top 100 of the World Pokémon Contest were eligible to board, which made booking reservations rather complicated.
After finishing dinner, Chris brought a cup of tea to the ga room. Several of his smaller Pokémon were still occupying the space.
"Wobbuffet (I died again!)!" Wobbuffet wailed, clutching his head dramatically.
"Delibird (Hurry up, it's my turn!)!" another voice chirped impatiently.
"Togepi (Great, I can keep playing)!" ca a cheerful exclamation.
Wobbuffet and Delibird sat like guardians on either side, with Togepi positioned in the middle. w and Jirachi floated in the air, all of them staring intently at the screen and having the ti of their lives. They were so engrossed that they didn't even notice Chris entering the room.
Watching the little ones playing together so happily, Chris felt a warmth spreading through his chest. Their joy was infectious and healing.
He found a beanbag chair and settled into it comfortably, pulling out his handheld gaming device. They could play their ga, and he would play his.
On the handheld screen, his character was currently located in the Sevii Islands region. Chris was preparing to explore the southern portion of the Sevii Islands—specifically, to continue traveling south from Birth Island, where Deoxys had originally resided.
If he rembered correctly, the Orange Islands lay further south of the Sevii Islands.
His current plan was to defeat the champions of ten different regions to unlock the Pokémon Tournant feature. He wondered whether the Orange League championship from the Orange Islands would count toward that total.
He flew his character to Six Island, the southernmost point of the Sevii Islands, then had him surf from the beach. After activating a Max Repel to avoid wild Pokémon encounters, he headed straight south.
He passed by Birth Island, but there was nothing in the sky above it. The dungeon had disappeared after he'd captured Deoxys.
He continued southward.
In the original handheld gas from his previous life, the edge of the map would definitely appear at this point. However, based on a previous experience traveling by cruise ship to the Johto region, Chris had co to realize sothing important.
There was a genuine Pokémon world contained within this handheld device.
If it was truly a complete Pokémon world, then there shouldn't be any artificial map boundaries.
Chris guided his character to continue traveling south for several more minutes. Soon enough, he spotted a large island in the distance.
"Have I reached the Orange Islands?"
Chris maneuvered his character to circle around the island, quickly locating a suitable place to land. However, just as he was about to reach the shore, a prompt suddenly appeared on his screen.
[Enter dungeon "wtwo Strikes Back"? (Yes/No) (Disappears after first completion)]
[Recomnded entry level for dungeon: Level 100]
"What? wtwo Strikes Back?!" Chris's eyes widened in surprise the mont he read the notification.
wtwo Strikes Back—he rembered that was the title of the movie featuring wtwo. It was also the very first film in the Pokémon movie series.
"So this must be New Island," Chris thought, recalling the island where wtwo had been created. It was the sa place where wtwo had cloned nurous Pokémon and overwheld countless trainers. It had also served as the main battlefield for the movie "wtwo Strikes Back."
If this was truly the trigger location for a movie-based dungeon, then it could only be New Island.
"This is incredible!"
But wait... it was already surprising enough that there was a "Darkness Cos" dungeon featuring Shadow wtwo in the Iron region.
Now here was another dungeon called "wtwo Strikes Back."
"So, as long as I'm strong enough, I could actually own two different wtwo?"
