"Agility!"

"Dragon Dance!"

The battle comnced as Chris and Marvin issued their commands simultaneously.

Dragonite surged forward like a bolt of lightning, a faint white aura flickering around its body as its speed increased dramatically. The dragon appeared as nothing more than a white streak racing across the battlefield.

"Roaaaaar!" Garchomp lifted its head and bellowed, dark green Dragon-type energy blazing around its form like ethereal flas. Both its attack power and speed began to rise steadily.

"Dragon Claw!" Marvin called out his next instruction.

Dragonite had already closed the distance to Garchomp, its raised claws moving forward with trendous montum. Thanks to the kinetic energy from its charge, the move carried significantly more power than if executed from a stationary position.

"Dragon Claw!" Chris's command followed imdiately after.

CLANG! A thunderous collision echoed across the battlefield.

Two pairs of dark green Dragon Claws t head-on, and the ground within a three-ter radius around Garchomp cracked and shattered from the sheer force of impact. This demonstrated just how powerful both Pokemon truly were.

Even under such intense pressure, Garchomp refused to yield.

The two combatants appeared evenly matched.

"Hurricane!" Marvin pressed his attack after the first exchange failed to produce a decisive result.

Dragonite's arms suddenly pushed against Garchomp's claws, using the opposing force to retreat. Its wings beat powerfully, creating a devastating whirlwind.

The Hurricane whipped up soil and debris, transforming the battlefield into what resembled a sudden sandstorm in re monts.

"Again, Dragon Claw!" Chris commanded, raising his hand with quiet confidence.

Garchomp's body tensed as it swung its arms forward. The Dragon Claw beca even sharper, slashing through the air in front of it.

A dark green energy blade shot forth, cleaving the sandy Hurricane cleanly in half like a sword cutting through silk.

However, at the precise mont the Hurricane was severed, Dragonite burst through at incredible speed, its form nearly a blur to the naked eye.

The spectators could barely comprehend how quickly Dragonite had reached Garchomp's position.

This was clearly a preditated strategy.

The Hurricane hadn't been ant as a direct attack, but rather as a smokescreen of sand and dust to conceal Dragonite's follow-up Extre Speed assault.

BANG! Another deafening explosion rang out.

Garchomp blocked the attack once again—no, to be more precise, it should now be called ga Garchomp!

While executing Dragon Claw, Chris's raised arm revealed a Key Stone bracelet, and Garchomp's entire body began glowing as it underwent ga Evolution.

As for why no verbal command was given...

Wasn't this the perfect mont to strike?

Are you trying to ambush ?

What a coincidence—I was planning to surprise you as well!

ga Garchomp, having completed its ga Evolution, experienced a dramatic boost in physical attack power. Its left arm, now resembling a deadly scythe, used Dragon Claw to create a cutting storm of energy blades.

Its right arm simultaneously struck at the sneaking Dragonite.

Dragonite was knocked back imdiately, though the damage didn't appear too severe.

There was a subtle detail that only experienced trainers could perceive.

Dragonite had managed to dodge at the last possible mont.

Even when caught off-guard, it could instinctively and accurately avoid critical hits. Either this Dragonite possessed extraordinarily refined battle instincts, or it had also mastered the technique of reading an opponent's intentions.

Mind reading was essential for all close-combat Pokemon, and whether one could learn this ability often served as the threshold separating the strong from the weak.

When ga Garchomp faced Dragonite's Extre Speed sneak attack just monts ago, it was able to react and counter-attack precisely because of its mind-reading capabilities.

Many trainers who had reached Gym Leader strength but hadn't yet achieved Elite Four status watched in silent awe.

"As expected from a Champion-level battle. If I were up there, I would have lost a Pokemon just from that first exchange alone."

"Aerial Ace!" Marvin issued his next command, his strategy becoming increasingly clear—fast attacks and relentless pressure!

Compared to Garchomp, Dragonite held the advantage in speed. Not necessarily in terms of base stats, but rather the aerial agility granted by its Flying typing.

More precisely, it was "maneuverability in the air."

The knocked-back Dragonite rolled gracefully through the air before diving sharply downward. Just as it seed about to crash into the ground, it pulled up at the last second, skimming along the surface.

The attack naturally transitioned from Aerial Ace into Dragon Rush.

Dragonite, cloaked in dark green energy, roared as it charged forward like an ancient dragon.

Chris had seen similar combinations before and often employed them himself.

This technique was commonly observed among Flying-type Pokemon, or more specifically, bird Pokemon. They would use Aerial Ace to build montum during descent, then transition to Quick Attack upon landing, often combined with moves like Drill Peck.

It reminded him of Zapdos.

"Dragon Claw!" Chris responded to the changing situation with unwavering consistency.

ga Garchomp's scythe-like arms glowed with dark green energy once more. The cold gleam in its eyes was unmistakably brilliant as it prepared to directly intercept the charging Dragonite.

The flying Dragonite arrived in an instant, but unexpectedly, instead of using the montum from its charge to strike ga Garchomp head-on, it suddenly changed direction and began circling ga Garchomp while staying close to the ground.

In the blink of an eye, another Hurricane ford.

But this ti it was centered around ga Garchomp, with dark green Dragon-type energy swirling within the vortex.

Was this Twister?

Yes and no. It was indeed a Dragon-type storm, but its power far exceeded that of an ordinary Twister. This was Hurricane combined with Dragon Pulse.

This could definitely be classified as a newly developed technique.

Chris's eyes glead with interest. The Champion of the East had finished testing the waters and was about to launch his real offensive.

Marvin had nad this move "Dragon God Whirlpool!"

And this was rely the beginning of his assault—the massive tornado itself had no direct destructive power.

Trapped within it, ga Garchomp stood as if in the eye of a hurricane. No matter how violent the exterior appeared, it remained relatively safe inside the calm center.

Silently, Marvin retrieved a Z-Crystal and inserted it into his Key Stone bracelet.

"Dragonite, Z-Move—Subzero Slamr!"

The dragon-like Dragonite imdiately positioned itself atop the Dragon God Whirlpool, its expression becoming cold and emotionless. Its eyes locked onto ga Garchomp below as frost and snow began gathering in its mouth.

Then it unleashed the attack.

Countless bursts of freezing ice and snow erupted forth like an avalanche, seemingly filling the entire interior of the Dragon God Whirlpool.

A question mark practically appeared above Chris's head.

Wait... what?

Both Dragonite and Garchomp shared a quadruple weakness to Ice-type moves, and now this Dragonite not only knew Ice-type attacks but was using an Ice-type Z-Move.

Garchomp seed to be thinking: You traitorous dragon! How could you betray your own typing?!

This scene felt oddly familiar to Chris.

He suddenly rembered where he'd seen this before.

That's right—Master Keaton's Dragonite could also use Ice-type Z-Moves!

In that previous battle, Chris had also used Garchomp and ultimately lost due to Dragonite's Multiscale ability. So... did this Dragonite also possess Multiscale?
