Chris expressed his disappointnt clearly. "Then what exactly is this base for?"
"This base serves as Team Rocket's forward outpost for conquering the Hoenn Region, and it also functions as Team Rocket's regional headquarters for non-border operations," Archer answered with complete honesty.
Was Chris mistaken? No legendary Pokemon stationed here? Just an ordinary Team Rocket hideout?
Chris rubbed his chin thoughtfully, but if he captured Archer and Proton, he could potentially eliminate all Team Rocket hideouts throughout the Hoenn Region.

"Then how do you have a Berserk Gene?"
"We kept samples from when wtwo was originally created."
Chris nodded slightly. wtwo was a Pokemon artificially created by Team Rocket using w's genetic material, so it wasn't surprising that they retained so of wtwo's genetic samples.

This was the first ti Chris had encountered a Pokemon item that functioned as both a consumable and a held item simultaneously.
It was clearly a legendary-tier item.
It was ten thousand tis more powerful than the Berserk Gene he had seen in the gas!

Looking at the item's description, Chris couldn't help but swallow nervously.
The optimal way to use this Berserk Gene would be as a consumable. For Gardevoir, the 100% Special Attack boost combined with doubled Psychic-type power would be equivalent to quadrupling its offensive capability!
However, the negative effects of using it made Chris temporarily abandon the idea of having Gardevoir use it directly.
Using a move with 100% chance of confusion lasting 256 days was absolutely not worth the risk.
He should honestly raise Gardevoir's level to 100 before considering using it.
Regarding the note that the Berserk Gene might attract the attention of a certain Pokemon, Chris could guess with complete certainty that it referred to wtwo. But... it didn't matter.
