The four Elite Four mbers applauded both Chris and Wallace for delivering such an exceptional battle.

The match had been truly spectacular!

Wallace, however, didn't share their enthusiasm about his performance.

"I suppose I'm better suited to be a Pokemon Coordinator than a Champion," Wallace said with a bitter smile, unable to help but apologize silently to his ntor. The Hoenn Region Champion title and the pristine white Champion cape had been entrusted to him, yet he couldn't properly defend them.

"From now on, the future of the Hoenn Region rests in your hands! I hope you can lead our region toward prosperity!" Wallace removed his Championship cape and offered it with both hands, bowing respectfully.

Chris accepted the Champion cape and walked steadily toward the throne.

Behind him, the applause from the four Elite Four mbers gradually faded as they watched Chris take his seat upon the Champion's throne.

Sitting on the ornate chair and looking down at the four Elite Four mbers and Wallace, Chris felt surprisingly calm. No rush of special emotions or overwhelming pride—instead, his mind wandered to other concerns.

According to the ga's storyline, shouldn't I be fighting Professor Birch's daughter about now? he thought. Typically, after winning the Championship, there should be one final challenger, right?

He glanced around the chamber, but no additional challenger had appeared before his coronation. So... does that an soone wants to challenge later?

Great, I've beco the final boss.

However, Chris's concerns proved unfounded.

Instead of Professor Birch's daughter appearing as a challenger, the Professor himself entered the chamber.

"Ever since I handed you your first Poke Ball, I knew this day would eventually co," Professor Birch said with genuine appreciation, gesturing toward another doorway. "Co, let's record your na in the Hall of Fa!"

Beyond the Champion's throne lay another room.

At the center stood a chanical pedestal with six slots designed to hold the six Pokemon that Chris had brought into battle.

Chris carefully placed his Poke Balls in sequence.

Blaziken, Gengar, Tyranitar, Zeraora, Greninja, and Gardevoir.

He still had many powerful Pokemon in his primary roster—Gyarados, Salance, and even Garchomp hadn't been brought to this battle. But for this mont, these six representatives would stand for his entire team.

When images of himself and his six Pokemon appeared on the screen before him, Chris was teleported back to his room.

A photograph now displayed on his device's screen.

Chris stood at the center of the picture, the corners of his mouth slightly upturned in a victorious smile. Greninja and Blaziken flanked him on the left and right.

Tyranitar positioned itself behind Chris's left side, its naturally fierce expression attempting to look cheerful while making a "peace" sign with its claws. Despite its efforts to appear friendly, the more it tried to smile, the more intimidating it looked.

Zeraora had folded its arms across its chest, showing only its profile while leaning casually against Tyranitar, projecting an air of cool confidence.

Gardevoir stood behind Chris on the right, hands folded gracefully at its waist, wearing a gentle smile. As always, it remained the Pokemon that stayed closest to Chris's side.

Only Gengar had decided to be completely playful, floating above Chris's head while using its chubby hands to stretch its already enormous mouth into an even bigger silly face.

The Champion's commorative photo.

"That actually looks pretty good," Chris said, taking a screenshot.

The screen faded to black.

When the display returned, the protagonist had already returned ho.

A large reward notification appeared on the screen.

[Special Dungeon "Victory Road" Cleared! Rewards as follows:]

[1. Random Legendary Pokemon Item]

[2. Hoenn Region Champion Cape]

[3. Designated Pokemon Highest-Tier Exclusive Item]

[4. Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza will now appear at specified locations]

Generous dungeon rewards indeed.

Chris imdiately checked his inventory.

The random Legendary Pokemon item turned out to be a white stone called the "Earl's Rock."

Earl's Rock: Normal-type move power increased by 100%. Physical move power increased by 100%.

"Enhancing Normal-type moves?" Chris frowned thoughtfully.

Which Legendary Pokemon were pure Normal-type?

After considering for several minutes, Chris could only think of two possibilities: the Mythical Pokemon "loetta" and Regigigas, known as the "Colossal Pokemon."

The Earl's Rock presumably belonged to Regigigas.

The power-boosting effect certainly matched the legendary accounts of Regigigas dragging continents to create entire regions.

As for who should receive this item, Chris concluded that aside from Slaking, no other Pokemon would be suitable for it.

Once I train Slaking to the sa level as my main Pokemon like Greninja, it can use the Earl's Rock. Combined with my support, it might be able to challenge sa-level Legendary Pokemon in single combat.

Of course, "sa-level Legendary Pokemon" referred to lower-tier legends like the legendary beasts.

Hoenn Region Champion Cape

Character equipnt. When battling in the Hoenn Region, all Pokemon skill damage increases by 10%, and reputation with non-evil organizations automatically rises to "Respected" status. (Visit Ever Grande City's Hoenn Pokemon League to claim Champion missions)

Chris imdiately equipped the item—this was the first character equipnt he had encountered.

On his device, a pristine white cape imdiately appeared on the back of his character sprite.

The third reward was the highest-tier exclusive item for a designated Pokemon.

Chris considered carefully before deciding to give this opportunity to Greninja.

Greninja had already absorbed several treasure-level items but had never received any Legendary Pokemon items or exclusive equipnt. Rather than waiting to gradually obtain such items through monthly dungeon runs, it would be better to give Greninja an imdiate power boost.

[Designated Pokemon "Greninja"]

[Acquired Item "Thousand Faces (★★★)"]

A black and white mask materialized in Chris's hand.

Thousand Faces (★★★): Water-type move power increased by 50%. "Double Team" and "Substitute" move effects enhanced by 100%. When using any move, you may choose to temporarily change your type to match that move's type. (Exclusive to Froakie, Frogadier, and Greninja evolutionary line; ineffective when carried by other Pokemon)

The Water-type move power increase provided a solid foundation boost.

The enhanced Double Team and Substitute effects perfectly matched Greninja's ninja-thed design. This significantly increased Chris's confidence in combination tactics using Double Team and Substitute strategies.

The final effect—"When using any move, you may choose to temporarily change your type to match that move's type"—felt familiar to Chris.

After thinking it over, he realized this was essentially Greninja's hidden ability "Protean"!

To be more precise, this version was actually superior to the standard Protean ability.

Regular Protean automatically changed Greninja's type after using any move, whether beneficial or not. With "Thousand Faces," Greninja could choose whether to change its type, providing much greater tactical flexibility.
