Chris has re-entered the ga, standing on the back of the Totem Salance as he arrives in the sky above Sootopolis City.

The sky above still alternates between a minute of Sunny Day and a minute of heavy rain.

Chris quickly releases his Gardevoir to use Confusion, creating a protective barrier against both the scorching heat and pouring rain.

Just below his Salance, right in front of Sootopolis City, a terrifying scene unfolds.

Groudon staggers across the sea, carving a path of magma through the water. Standing on its head is the maddened Maxie, leader of Team Magma. Red lines cover Maxie's body, and his eyes glow with the sa crimson hue.

Kyogre is there too, floating above the water surrounded by endless waves. On Kyogre's head stands Archie, his body marked with blue lines and his eyes glowing with azure light.

Two ancient Pokémon are about to engage in a world-class battle under the control of two organization leaders with ulterior motives!

But it isn't so much that they control these ancient Pokémon—it's more accurate to say they are being controlled by them.

After all, how could human will be stronger than that of two super-ancient Pokémon?

However, human greed and the desire to control them has made Groudon and Kyogre particularly enraged.

Now, they're about to unleash their fury in battle!

"HO!!" Kyogre roars.

The sea sways violently, imdiately pulling up a massive wave hundreds of ters high!

The blue wall of water rises to 100 ters! When people face the casual attack of Kyogre, god of the sea, it's like watching ten skyscrapers collapse toward them at once.

Avoid it? Avoidance is impossible! All you can do is wait for death!

Fortunately, this enormous wave isn't aid at humans or Sootopolis City.

The churning waters rush toward Groudon, attempting to smash it back into the sea.

"ROAR!!" Groudon bellows, and a fiery white light erupts from its mouth!

The light is so dazzling that the whole world seems to go dark for an instant.

This is a Hyper Beam!

The destructive beam strikes the middle of the 100-ter giant wave. With a slight turn of Groudon's head, the white light tears the entire wave into two halves!

The huge wave breaks imdiately!

Groudon counterattacks, spitting another burst of hot white light. This beam blasts straight toward Kyogre.

If Chris isn't mistaken, this should be Solar Beam.

Groudon understands type advantages and knows its Fire-type moves won't harm Kyogre much, so it uses Grass-type moves to attack.

Unlike Hyper Beam, which requires Groudon to Rest afterward, Solar Beam typically needs to "charge up," but Groudon simply doesn't need to.

Kyogre flaps its two huge pectoral fins like wings and summons two Twisters that pierce the sky. These Twisters roll the water forward, imdiately forming a waterspout that resists the Solar Beam attack!

"Legendary Pokémon are truly strong!" Chris can't help but sigh as he silently takes out the Master Ball from his pocket.

He locks onto Kyogre as his target!

Between Groudon and Kyogre, Chris prefers Kyogre. Definitely not because Groudon can't fly!

"It's decided, it's you!" Chris throws the Master Ball toward Kyogre.

But Chris imdiately notices sothing alarming.

Just as he throws the Master Ball, both Groudon and Kyogre look up and lock their eyes on him, with smiles forming on their lips.

Two Hyper Beams surge toward him in the sky!

In a split second, the Totem Salance doesn't even have ti to dodge. Chris can't even see the result of throwing the Master Ball before his vision is engulfed in white light.

When the scenery clarifies, Chris finds himself sitting on a cozy sofa in his room. On his handheld device, his character stands in the Pokémon Center in Lavaridge Town, with a ssage:

[If you failed the battle, your vision went dark, and you returned to the Pokémon Center]

This is the prompt that appears after all Pokémon in your party lose their fighting ability, automatically sending you to the last Pokémon Center you visited.

"How could Groudon and Kyogre attack at the sa ti?" Chris wonders, not understanding. Glancing at his backpack, he sees the Master Ball is still there.

Chris decides to try again.

Taking out his Salance, he selects Fly to head to Sootopolis City. A prompt imdiately appears on his handheld device:

[Do you want to enter Story Mode?]

Chris selects "Yes" and imdiately finds himself in the sky above Sootopolis City again.

Groudon and Kyogre are still fighting.

This ti, Chris doesn't take out the Master Ball imdiately. Instead, he flies around the two legendary Pokémon on his Totem Salance.

Groudon and Kyogre don't seem to pay any attention to Chris. In their eyes, both Chris and the Totem Salance are re ants! Not worth their concern.

Chris watches the two ancient Pokémon carefully, silently reaches into his backpack, and takes out the Master Ball.

Imdiately, the eyes of both ancient Pokémon focus on Chris simultaneously.

Well, well!

Chris imdiately cos to a conclusion—the Master Ball is the key to attracting their attention!

They aren't looking at him, but at the Master Ball!

Once again, two Hyper Beams streak toward him!

Chris reappears in Lavaridge Town.

"It seems the ga doesn't want to capture a legendary Pokémon so soon," Chris thinks.

For the ga developers, this logic makes perfect sense. The protagonist hasn't even challenged the Elite Four and the Champion yet, hasn't beco the strongest trainer in the ga. What would be the point of giving away the rarest Pokémon now?

Still...

Chris decides to try one last ti!

He takes out his Salance, selects Fly to Sootopolis City, and enters Story Mode again.

This ti, instead of getting close to Groudon and Kyogre, Chris stays far away—a full three kiloters distant—and then releases his Gardevoir.

"Gardevoir, ga Evolve!"

Gardevoir appears in a black wedding dress form.

"Gardevoir, Teleport the Master Ball to Kyogre's head!" Chris takes out the Master Ball with lightning speed.

ga Gardevoir imdiately teleports the Master Ball!

Three kiloters is currently the maximum distance for ga Gardevoir's Teleport!

But Chris doesn't receive any notification about capturing Kyogre.

Instead, he sees a fla of magma burning through the air, and a massive Ground-type attack with a span of three kiloters slashing toward him from the sky. Countless azure blue and white lights flash like 3,000 missiles launched, all locked onto Chris's position.

Chris doesn't try to escape, because he can't. He waits for the inevitable, unable to help but comnt with emotion:

"Being able to die under the combined attack of Precipice Blades and Origin Pulse, I should also be the number one person in the world!"
