"Togeprriii!"

"So~that~sei!"

Togepi and Wobbuffet: (^^)(^0^y)

Chris got up early in the morning and found the two little Pokémon playing gas in the living room. Delibird had the day off and was sitting on the sofa nearby with his legs crossed, cracking sunflower seeds and enjoying himself.

In the kitchen, Hariyama was busy preparing breakfast. To celebrate Chris's return ho, it was making dumplings again today.

The rest of the Pokémon had returned to this familiar setting and were all doing their own things.

Gardevoir handed Chris a glass of hot water.

After receiving the steaming water from Gardevoir, Chris sat next to Togepi, watching it play gas.

During these days when Chris and his Pokémon weren't at the villa, Togepi had long adapted to playing with its friends and wasn't lonely at all.

As for "977" Wobbuffet, it could monopolize the huge TV set and play any ga it wanted.

But without friends, the fun of gaming seed to be less than half as enjoyable.

Delibird was doing okay—it usually delivered food at school but flew back every night. Without the supper that Hariyama specially prepared for it, Delibird occasionally felt lonely.

Seeing Togepi so happy, Chris thought for a mont, then approached the two Pokémon and extended his hand in invitation.

"I'll rarely be coming back to Dragon University in the future. Would you like to co with to the Green Valley Gym?"

Togepi and Delibird, who had been having fun just monts before, were taken aback.

Togepi quickly looked at Delibird with expectant eyes. It didn't care where it went—what it wanted was to be with its friends all the ti!

Delibird frowned deeply.

It looked at Togepi, then at Chris.

"Don't worry, I've already found a job for you there. I have a ranch, and you can help raise Pokémon. I'll pay you a salary too. What do you think?" Chris continued.

Delibird thought for a long ti before putting his wing on Chris's hand. "Dei-li dei-li! (I accept your employnt!)"

"Togeprriii!!"

"Wooo(≧º≦)" Wobbuffet and Togepi celebrated happily—they could play together again.

Chris breathed a sigh of relief. Togepi and Delibird were willing to follow him to the Green Valley Gym, which was a relief.

Without Togepi, a cute creature who called out "Togeprrrii" in the living room every day, Chris always felt that sothing was missing.

Especially for Wobbuffet—without friends to play gas with, playing alone was much less fun.

It seed Chris had co to regard Togepi and Delibird as important family mbers.

As for whether to actually catch Togepi and Delibird with Poké Balls, that was a secondary concern.

"Rember to visit the school cafeteria to resign!" Chris stood up and patted Delibird on the head.

"Dei-li!" Delibird nodded earnestly and imdiately flapped its wings to find the cafeteria owner of Dragon University.

Although Delibird was leaving soon, it still wanted to thank the boss for taking care of it all this ti, and by the way... collect its wages.

Watching Delibird's retreating figure, Chris stretched his back. He was about to start today's activities.

It had been a long ti since he'd gone surfing!

How could he pass up this opportunity?

Chris ran to the beach. Greninja and Gyarados were already surfing, and a mountain-like Tyranitar was happily playing in the sand.

Chris suspected it had been playing since the previous night!

The Palossand nearby shuddered. (Didn't this guy disappear? Why is he back again!)

"You two, let surf with you." Chris took out his racing boat and greeted the two Pokémon.

"Gre~ninja!"

"ROARR!!"

Two hours later, Chris changed into different clothes and arrived at the principal's office.

As soon as he opened the door, Chris saw piles of books stacked on the desk. Principal Vladimir was reaching one hand into Gengar's mouth while stroking his white beard with the other, muttering, "The detailed explanation about the habits of rare Grass-type Pokémon should be here..."

"Professor, what are you doing?" Chris suddenly felt a sense of foreboding.

"Oh, Chris is here. Have a seat first—I'm finding the books for you to read this year," Vladimir said, turning to see Chris. "Hmm, why isn't it here? I rember putting it here after I checked it last ti."

"Gengar, do you rember?"

Gengar shook his head in embarrassnt with his mouth wide open...

"Isn't it in your stomach? How could you not know?"

Gengar looked confused—should it know?

Chris silently looked at the books on the table.

Goodness, there were at least a hundred volus.

"Professor, are these desk books the ones I need to read this year?"

"Of course not."

Chris breathed a sigh of relief.

"Besides the books on the table, I've already packed two boxes for you." Vladimir kicked the cardboard boxes beside the desk as he spoke.

Chris's face imdiately turned pale.

There were hundreds of books on the table, and at least hundreds more in the two boxes...

And Professor Vladimir still looked like he wasn't finished gathering them.

Surely he didn't expect Chris to read one book a day?

No, seeing Professor Vladimir's enthusiasm, Chris might not even be able to keep up with one book per day.

"Professor, I suddenly don't want to graduate early," Chris said with difficulty.

Seeing Chris's mournful face, Vladimir couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Just kidding!"

"These are just books I think you'll find useful. I'll sort through the books on the table and in the boxes to pick out what you need at your current stage—about fifty books a year. You only need to read one book a week."

"However, these concepts need to be consolidated. If possible, you should read each one several tis."

"I'll also evaluate your progress during Chinese New Year!"

Only then did Chris heave a sigh of relief. If there had been more than 300 books, he probably would have had to carry books with him every day.

"Professor, your joke was terrifying."

"Terrifying? When I was your age and had just entered Dragon University, I was always reading books—even when training Pokémon. I must have read two or three hundred books a year." Vladimir sighed, speaking earnestly, "Not everyone has your talent. Don't waste it!"

Chris blushed. He didn't have any real talent—it all depended on cheating.

However, if he thought about it carefully, he was the only person in the world who could cheat in this particular way, and that could indeed be classified as a talent.

"I put your diploma on the table."

"The books you need to read—I'll send them to you tomorrow."
