It was Saturday. Basalt was in his yard with Drilbur, training the move "Dig."
Dig was an important move that Basalt had high hopes for. As a Ground-type Pokémon, once Drilbur mastered Dig, its strength would undergo a world-shaking transformation. This was because Dig was an incredibly broken move at the current stage of competition. Unless the opponent knew a move like Bulldoze, it was basically impossible to counter. And at this stage, how many Pokémon could have mastered Bulldoze? Besides Lucas's Swinub, Basalt hadn't seen a second one.
Unfortunately, as expected of an interdiate-to-advanced move with a power of 80, Dig was not easy to master. Especially now that the Ground Gem fragnts were all gone, the developnt of Drilbur's Ground-type abilities had slowed down instantly.
Kaka-kaka!
Drilbur waved its claws, digging furiously at the soil. Its speed was undeniable, but it made a lot of noise, a far cry from the imagined stealth of the move Dig.
